The H1 Orange Crush is why as a teenager I gave up riding motorcycles for about twenty years. My last ride on the Orange Crush I was doing 110mph in the rain without a faceshield, 1/4 away around the Atlanta, GA perimeter from Merrietta to Chamblee during afternoon rush hour traffic. As my brain thawed out under the hot shower I said to myself, "If you don't have any better sense than that when you get on a bike you had best stay off." Twenty years later I started riding again when I negotiated a baby Ninja 250 as part of a condo purchase. It was perhaps the funest bike I've ever owned. Since then I've had a vStrom 650 and I'm on my second KLR650. I can't say I am a smarter rider, but my testoserone is shorter and I no longer have the need for adrenaline thrills. Motorcycling is now relaxing and enjoyable on and off road. My brother had 3.5 Orange Crush H1s. Two were daily ride. One conventional ignition and the other CDI ignition. The CDI ignition bike would dump you on your butt in 3rd just by yanking the throttle open if you weren't careful. 6.5krpm was a magic number. The H bikes are thrilling three legged chainsaws. If you really like twisting the throttle you can run the tank dry in about 25 miles.

@@ProjectMoto hey no worries. I’m getting there, it’s been a slow, slow process. Third party admitted liability, I’m going for an initial physio sessions on Thursday, which the third party is being billed for. Once those physio sessions are complete, then the insurance + personal injury claim will be totalled and the solicitor will look at the offer made by the third party. I’m hoping it’s all wrapped up by the end of the year or before. I went down to Kawasaki in Ruislip and sat on a few bikes a couple of weeks ago and in the spring I’ll come down to Ducati and test the Supersport 950S out.
