It can be such an easy thing to slip away from loving God first to loving other good heavenly gifts more. I pray for us all that we would continue to love and cherish God over all other things to the point that even if we were to lose all of his precious gifts we would still find peace and joy in Him alone.

DO NOT OVERTHINK. Christ forgives lavishly. Lavishly. A friend of mine when he was a teenager wound up sleeping with a girl at a party-he was planning to go into ministry. When I tried to pray with him I couldn’t pray. I said, “I think God says it’s already forgiven.” There was literally nothing to talk about. We were at church and we walked in together and the Pastor started preaching about how we think God forgives, maybe and reluctantly. But (said the preacher) He forgives lavishly. That’s in the past. Whatever that was. Keep going my friend. ❤

I think that's why faith in Rom6:6,11 and Gal2:20 is so crucial for new believers to understand and believe - Jesus Himself took our old man with all its evil desires to die there with Him on the cross and then He Himself comes to indwell us - unless we know and believe this fully, our mind still defaults to the old man weaknesses...not knowing it is DEAD. And Christ within is our strength - He cannot be tempted - 1Jhn4:4; Mat28:18 hide in Him. In James 1:2,3 it is our faith being tested and in :12 the love we have for Him.... whether it is a fake love or the love of Rom5:5. My condolences for your loss 😔💐 I know it must hurt allot. Know God is with u through it all. Thank you for not leaving faith despite going through these trials. I think of the book of Job how the devil is taking everything to see if u leave ur belief in Jesus. Remain in Him! I'm sorry to hear about your loss. This life is full of heartache. Everything we think we have will eventually be taken away from us. But if Jesus is sufficient, The question we have to ask ourselves is... would we be satisfied with just being with Christ, even if our relatives weren't with us in eternity? Please pray for me, I'm just not in a good place, I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I know God. Or if I'm saved, but I keep trying to get to know Him, and preaching, I want to do things for Him, but I'm failing. Easily drawn away, who the Son sets free will be free indeed. I want to be free, when I'm praying for help, or forgiveness, or anything, to me it feels like He's saying He refuses, and that scares me, that I am beyond repentance. Please pray for me

Turning back to Christ... 1. Confess your hidden sins and stop pursuing them immediately (perpetual sin destroys faith and leaves nothing but expectation of God's righteous judgment) - *Hebrews 10:26-27* 2. Cry out for repentance from loving pleasure more than loving God. - *2 Timothy 3:4* And keep knocking at the door of repentance until Christ answers. - *Luke 11:5-13* 3. Pray that Christ reveals blind spots of unbelief (Christ saves those who trust in Him, not those who are righteous) - *Mark 2:17, John 3:16* 4. Recognize your unbelief, but stop being preoccupied with it. Instead, be preoccupied with Christ. Keep your eyes on Him, and not on you. - *Hebrews 12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Numbers 21: 8-9, John 3:14.* 5. Take full responsibility for your blindness. It is not Christ who has left you, but you who have forsaken Him. - *Jeremiah 2:13, James 1:13-15* I'll be praying for you. God bless!!!

I think this is sound theology. But I always question when someone preaches for money over salvation!

Still… People simply do not understand how detrimental it truly is to deny God. Everything in this world is nothing but dung without both God and Jesus. God waits patiently for us to notice Him, but He will never force anyone-He doesn’t have to; it is our choice to follow Him. But the day will come, for it is written, when “he that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still” (Revelation 22:11). It is God, through Jesus, that wants us to have what we cannot comprehend here in the flesh: eternal bliss. Yet most deny Him and choose eternal damnation, still. Repent.
