Hey Phly! About 3 years ago you made a video about the AMX-30B2 BRENUS and how it was one of the worst MBTs in the game. Well today the BRENUS has had quite a glow up, as it now boasts a pretty nice array of tools at the comfortable BR of 8.3, such as thermals, a laser rangefinder, IRCM, and a pretty nice lineup to back it up. So I encourage you to take a look at this underappreciated vehicle again (day 3)

Hey oreo as someone who plays French mains the b2 is a wonderful tank. The person above is just ignorant and refuses to learn its play style. At 8.3 no its not stabilized but you have speed and mobility and if you can get in the right location its a beast of a tank

To answer the question of "how many more things was this turret fitted on"... The Tourelle FL-10 (the turret housing the 75mm cannon on the 6.7 AMX-13) was put on a TON of small, light vehicles due to its light weight, relatively low cost, and reasonably small turret ring. The later turrets housing larger guns (90mm/105mm) still fit the same turret ring, so they could jam even more powerful guns on the same tiny chassis. It was thus (theoretically) possible for the Tourelle FL-12 used on the AMX-13-105 to be fitted to anything with that same turret ring. These turrets (FL-10/FL-12/FL-15) were fitted to a lot of dated vehicles to make them more effective, as well as used (by design) on more modern vehicles (i.e. the German DF105, or the Austrian Kürassier). In short: yes.

the df105 is a joint venture between france and germany, calling it a german vehicule is like calling the kpz 70 an american vehicule

They were going to do the same with the Austrian SK105 until people complained so they made two versions. They just don't really like giving French TT much.

It was built by a German company and the French have their own vehicles that Gaijin should add in just like this one such as the AMX-13 105 so there’s no need for this to be copy and pasted to the French tree

for all italian mains, now the Fiat will be 11.0 with 20k repair costs.

First and foremost - thanks, Phly. Clocking 60 hour work weeks on top of studying for my career license takes a huge toll on me. It's nice to come back and watch something I've been entertained with for years and that always provides comedic relief and takes some of the stress of my day away. Keep it up!

Hi Phly, Glad you're happy with your laser eye surgery. A tip: If you haven't get them already do be sure you get copies of the 'maps' your surgeon took *before* they did your surgery. You will almost certainly never need them, but if you ever need eye surgery in future your doctor will find them very handy. Handy for them is good for you.

Nice to know the coof didnt hit you too hard, by the way the French stuck that turret to a Chaffee hull before deciding sticking a Chaffee turret to an AMX-13 hull was a better combination.

"The French have to stop!" *Non!* Not until we get a navy. And the SPAD. And the Char 2C. And our mega-weird helicopter gunship experiments. Several other aircrafts, I have a list somewhere. But, until then, oscillating AMX turrets for all! *Vive la France!* Day 40: Take the Scimitar, the last Supermarine, out for a spin. You got the 20 kg/s burst mass, you got the AP rockets (do they actually do anything?) you got options for stuff and things.

I don't think the overpreassure mechanic is working with this round. At 11:05 , perfect example, firing at an open top vehicle, the su100p. the first shot detonating on the armour plate should have absolutely turned all turret crews brains to mashed potatoes. Then the second shot, directly into the turret, would have absolutely turned their brains into spaghetti. And firing at the EBR at the beginning should have been a one shot as well. Something is not right here.

@@LordOfChaos.x In this case, it doesn´t prove no armor- best armor, because of the overpressure mechanic, tanks with no armor or open top vehicles should be overpressured with any Heat, HEATFS, HE and HESH (just any round with high TNT equivalent, especially detonating immediately after the impact with the vehicle) and automatically be destroyed, mostly by knocking out the crew on one shot. This just proves that HEAT round on this vehicle (DF 105) is somehow broken and it doesn´t work as it should be by the overpressure mechanic of this game (SU-100 P, open top, should be automatically destroyed by shooting the whole open top hull, EBR, should be automatically destroyed be shooting any of the parts of the vehicle- except wheels and the Italian spaghetti one, Fiat should be destroyed automatically by the direct shot into the hull as well- because its HEAT ammo). I hope this error will be fixed soon.

​@@jirinavratil6232 Well the DF105 use the same ammo as the amx30, i never had consistent result with it aiming frontally at turret since the post penetration damage is a joke. From my point of view targeting glacis and turret sides is the best way to neutralise or destroy (especially centurion and t-54), everywhere else you have to pray RNG or play whack a mole, more over the OCC seems more sensitive than HEAT-FS when it comes to bushes. The DF105 is way easyer to play than the AMX (BR7.3, autoloader) and i dont think gaijin will "fix this error" since its there from the beginning and specific to this shell. Can't buff DF105 without the amx and i dont want them to go from 7.7 to 8.0 (the premium should be 7.3 in the first place but that is another topic).

It seems like Gajoobles forgot to activate the HE part of that HEAT shell, the fact that it didn't even one shot an open top (the SU-100P)is just bizarre. Literally no over-pressure whatsoever!

technically speaking, that's accurate to IRL. HEAT doesn't have overpressure in a sphere. It's liquifying (not melting*) a jet of copper to form a penetrator at the impact point.

@@vaelophisnyx9873 Technically speaking you are wrong... not more than 1/3 of the energy is going via jet into the hole that the jet is creating rest is just normal explosion and its not a small insignificant amount of energy(on top of that the game is completly ignoring the energy that is going inside and in this case the game only simulating the jet and ignoring the whole physics behind it. liqufying=liquid=melting->wrong, its "superplasticity". "a jet of copper" you can also build shaped charge without any insert or use different metal for it. "form a penetrator at the impact point." it cant be created in a point because shaped charge is a real 3D object(and point have no dimensions by definition) and for best performance the jet should be created at exactl distance from the impact point(shorter distance gonna disturb formation of the jet and at longer distance the charge is also losing its penetration capabilities.

I remember when I got my laser eye surgery. I wound up chatting up the techs the entire time. Yes, there was some pain, even with the numbing, but it was really really minor and the whole experience was interesting. It was when the painkillers wore off that everything became literally unbearable. But I do not regret getting it. It is so worth it being able to see clearly without needing glasses or contacts.

Thank you Phly! First, for providing us years of entertainment. Second, for taking care of yourself when you need to. We really don’t deserve such a wholesome KZreadr like yourself. Congratulations on your dad hood and your son will give you great amounts of joy forever. Us Phlyers are very proud of you! Keep up the awesome work! (Yes I made Phlyers up, I hope it sticks 🤞)

If u look closer (now u might can see it) the hull is also a "best seller" among NATO nations as well, and a lot of other light junker "IFV like" thing uses it! Its like LEGO tank, U can mix and build whatever parts u have laying around, with minor modifications.

That spot where phly went on Finland it's a flanking way you will only get 1 or at max 3 enemy's there usually it's open or 1 tank ,usually the faster tanks go there to get behind the opposition frontline can be a good tactic I use it because all spectrums of tiers dont use that often that flanking area on Finland nor does the player base flank alot on any map which gives me a good advantage in a bt5 or bt7m or anything fast to hit any tank in the ammo racks, from the rear or side

One additional thing besides this being only in German tech tree, unlike the original amx-13 this tank has no gun wobble and it stabilizes like it has a vertical stabilizer. And people who played enough of France will see this and hate this. Gaijin literally buffs tanks for Germany. wtf is this.

I think it has something to do with the newer suspension and its new Wideness but it still feels pretty unfair.

Got to love the French HEAT not over pressuring those thin armored vehicles.

the amx-13 turret is like a baptise a tank must go through before initial mass production.

With stabiliser this thing would go to 7.7 and be a German equivalent for Object 906

There are dozens of tanks and contraptions that are simply ignored by gaijin, for exemple, they choose to add the goofy looking one, with the m24 turret on amx body, over the opposite one which looked certainly cursed a bit but awesome : The amx FL10 turret on the m24 body (m24 fl10) (same spirit as the FL10 on M4 sherman)

Phly finally unlocked a new video card for his eyes and can see in 4K now.

I thought they had reworked the bombers a little bit but my B-17 still falls apart like paper. They changed something because my skins don't fit now.

I got my first nuke in this vehicle. Use it in a squad as a support tank, it's so powerful it's obscene. Keep that rack loaded and everything takes care of itself.

It's you that's insane (or dumb). This is 10 times better than the Leo 1. MUCH faster, MUCH more survivable (engine in the front) and will kill anything from the front. There is a reason it's now higher BR too. It's a killing machine.

I’m almost 48 and I’m about to get Cataracts Removed from both eyes, it’s the Diabetic Type and what’s funny is I don’t have Diabetes, it’s something from the Iraq War is why everything has been going down hill for me ever since. I’m also dreading this surgery at the VA Hospital, I can only do 1 at a time. Also they called me and told me I’ve to test neg 2 days before my surgery, I’m not doing that or taking that poison! Better pray they don’t take us Veterans $ over it or your gonna have so many vets breaking that glass! In the Time Of War! They’ve already reduced a fews % Rating after many years. That’s about to cause many to break that glass! I’m 💯 and get my SSI which both are my family’s only income. Things are just way to crazy.
