The season opener with over 5000 was immense. Being from Bury originally I am so happy to see the club back playing football. The fact that someone with such a dreadful history in business was able to pass a 'fit and proper' test to take over the club shows that the test is not worth the paper it's written on. As an AFC Wimbledon fan who has visited Gigg lane, it is great to see you back again. We started in the Combined Counties League, which is the equivalent level that you are in and it took us 9 years to get to the football league and with that kind of support you can do it too. We had to go through 3 play off seasons to get out of the Isthmian (Ryman) premier league and then went straight through the Conference South, spending 2 seasons in the Conference national league and then beating Luton Town on penalties in the play off final (and look where they are now !) to get into league 2. Now we're being bought and sold nearly every year by a mix of dodgy characters and naive dreamers. One or two of the current bunch have a shady history. The years Charlton had in the Premier League are like a distant dream. There are too many clubs in jeopardy, whilst at the top of the game they're swimming in money. This whole saga was infuriating for anyone that truly cares about football in this country. Lovely to see a historic club reborn and the smile on that dad's face as he carries his child in at 4:48 says it all.
I'm an Arsenal fan so the lows of football me and my mates moan about are nothing compared to this, thanks for making this video it's a real perspective eye opener. seeing the emotion of those fans is amazing, football is so much more than just a game.
That bloke watering up at 6:30 got me going as well I'll be honest. Probably thought he'd never see his club play again.
I was born and raised in Bury and now live in the USA. I remember heading into Bury on match day and the town was electric. Bury FC always felt like a bigger club than they ever were because the fans had so much heart. Watching your video instantly took me back to my childhood. So great to see a resurgence in my hometown and what this will do for community spirit. Lets go Bury!!! 🎉🎉

The season opener with over 5000 was immense. I know a lot came out to support the town, and I was worried numbers would dwindle a lot, but over 4000 and many of us still cheering on at the end of a 1-3 loss to Chadderton warmed my cockles. Let's keep it up, Shakers. The last 4 years are a lesson in not knowing what you've had until it's gone, so let's learn it one time only and get through them turnstiles. We owe it to ourselves. Being from Bury originally I am so happy to see the club back playing football. The fact that someone with such a dreadful history in business was able to pass a 'fit and proper' test to take over the club shows that the test is not worth the paper it's written on. I doubt Bury will ever make it all the way up the leagues to the top, but hope they can find a decent level to grow going forwards

Bury and Bolton Wanderers had 2 utterly shocking humans as owners. One was expelled as the other was saved in the last hour before administration. Bury have a hopefully fun, but very long road ahead as they steamroll themselves back towards L2. Wanderers were so very fortunate to get an excellent custodian in Sharon Brittain, hopefully towards promotion to the Championship next season. My friends and I have watched Bury during the international breaks and have had a great time roaring on our once great foes. It's truly difficult to ever believe that Gigg Lane could be the home of my 2nd team.....but life makes no sense atm

Thank you very much! Can’t wait to go to all the clubs I’ve got planned for this year
Another great upload, thanks. The Bury story is so uplifting but it also casts a light on the awful governance of the beautiful game in our country. I travelled down with my Dad and Son from Newcastle to Bury around 10 years ago and saw Notts County get stuffed at Gigg Lane. Despite the result, we had a great day out and a proper football experience. I really wish Bury FC all the very best and hope they can get those 8 (or was it 9) promotions and grace the increasingly sterile PL.
I'm blown away with the production of your videos. 8:02 made me chuckle. I love the history of English football, maybe one day I can cross the pond and see an EFL game! Cheers from NYC.
Football, by the people, for the people. I love the Beautiful Game.
i love your coverage of these smaller clubs. I hope they continue to be worth your time. Thank you.
Great video as always... As a Charlton fan I understand only too well what Bury have been through. We lost our ground in the 80s and it took years to get it back. But then massive economic disparity isn't unique to football, eh?
Your videos and especially your research are like sublime. Worthy of a newspaper to call you in my opinion. Wouldn’t be surprised
I much prefer these stories of small clubs. I always cheer for the underdogs. Thanks for a great video.

@@stuntpeggnieve for info - this match is being replayed on Saturday due to the fielding of an ineligible player.
As a supporter of FC United of Manchester, can say that we rented Gigg Lane from Bury FC as a ground share arrangement from 2005-14. From 2015 we were able to start playing at our own ground, Broadhurst Park. So sad that Bury FC suffered so much in 2019, but they are back now!
Bury weren't getting as many fans during their EFL days so hopefully now that the club is actually run by them they'll be able to at least fill half of the stadium when they eventually return to the EFL and attract more youngsters who'll love the day out with neighbours and friends than sitting at time watching a team miles away from them
