Two that could have been included are Queen Christina of Sweden and Elenor of Aquitaine who was both Queen of France and Queen of England

@@sailormoonserenity99 Eleanor of Aquitaine was a ruler in her own right over Aquitaine, in fact, one of the most powerful and richest women in history. Very unusual in her day, as well as, in later times. Additionally, she was the Queen of France from 1137 to 1152 as the wife of King Louis VII, and Queen of England from 1154 to 1189 as the wife of King Henry II, and finally the mother of 3 Kings of England.

Christina was never truly queen of Sweden and sucked, and i'm not being biased or something, even most people agree with that she was lame. The girl was simply a spoiled brat and even she recognized her cousin Charles X as the king.

I agree with all the picks for this video, but I think some worthy mentions -- not necessarily because of their ranking among great queens, but their contributions to their countries/kingdoms are: Urraca of Leon/Castile; she refused to bow to male power in the Medieval period, which was the most hostile era for women in Europe. She rose to each challenge that men made against her, and although she was not without her own faults, she did pave the way for her son to take the throne. Urraca is often forgotten as one of the first women in power in Spanish history. Though she was not a queen due to Salic Law in France, Anne de Beaujeu is definitely a worthy mention because of her sharp intellect, her brilliance at bolstering the Kingdom of France at the time, and the many smaller contributions she made to etiquette and education, especially for women. Later esteemed women such as Margaret of Austria and Louise of Savoy -- who were both political powerhouses in their own right, despite not being queens -- learned much from Anne. Her father lamented that she hadn't been born male, because in every way except her gender, she was his heir. Anne was the power behind the French throne. It goes without saying that Margaret of Austria and Louise of Savoy were great women in their time, as well as Louise's daughter, Margaret of Valois-Angoulême -- sister of King Francis I of France -- who was a very learned woman and was actually Queen of Navarre for a time. Jeanne de Albret, Margaret of Valois-Angoulême's daughter, was also a capable woman and Queen of Navarre. She was more worthy of reigning than her husband, who became King of Navarre through marriage to her, while she herself inherited the throne. She gave France one of its most memorable monarchs -- Henri IV, who made religious tolerance possible and ended the Wars of Religion which nearly destroyed France for most of the 16th century. Catherine de Medici did the best she could, but also made some bad decisions. She gets a lot of criticism, but she had five children to care for and was a widow. She protected the throne for her sons at all costs, even if it meant staining her reputation forever. Catherine brought a lot of etiquette, fashion, and introduced culinary as well as artistic influence from her native Italy and heightened French culture even more. She was an intelligent woman and entertained men of the secret sciences in her time, which would've been outlawed. Catherine was known for her patience, which she used to lie low until an opportunity presented itself, then she struck while the time was right. Because the video is about the five greatest Queens of Europe, I very much acknowledge that this was about greatness; effective reigns and foreign as well as religious policy for the times these women lived in. I just wanted to throw my two cents in for lesser known/celebrated women who made some marks in one way or another on the societies of their countries and did make some changes. Even if they lack monumental achievements, they helped steer the ship, so to speak, even if some of them didn't succeed in the end.

Im sorry, if one is to discuss Isabel's financing Colón, then one has to also discuss her expulsion of the Muslims and Jews from Spain in the summer of 1492, and the state's confiscation of as much wealth from the two communities as she possibly could get her hands on, and quickly too. Without the stolen wealth of those pushed out of Spain, there could have been none of the discoveries that created the sumptuous wealth of the Spanish crown:

Although Queen Victoria was criticized for not appearing in public as much as her Prime Ministers wanted her to after the death of Prince Abert, she never actually stopped working. She followed domestic and foreign affairs very closely, reading her documents in her black boxes, meeting with her Prime Ministers, and advising them in a way that would be considered interfering for a British Monarch in our present day. More often than not she was very acute. She was also very hands-on in raising her children and did a fairly good job as a mother, despite not being a natural mother as Prince Albert had been a more natural parent.

Oh and Eleanor of aquitaine was a woman before her time who I feel should have been included.

@@livesandhistories I think Catherine of Aragon would have to make the great regents list (the greatest list would require more thought) ... Catherine was well-educated and was more successful in battle than her husband, Henry VIII and a successful and popular Queen for over 20 years. Also, Charles II's wife Catherine of Braganza gets an honorable mention for becoming a successful regent for her nephew after Charles II's death and her return to Portugal. I think Charles never divorced Catherine for not bearing him an heir because he had too much respect for her, recognized her good character, and wanted to do right by her.

It would of been nice for those to know about Catherine's Manifesto to the German people to settle in the Volga region of the Russian empire. These people are now known as Volga Germans. Her grandson would make his own like his grandmothers, this time to the area of Black Sea, that is now part of the Ukraine. They would become what is now known as Black Sea Germans. Nobody ever seems to dig into this unless your part of what is called "German Russians".

La Reina Doña Isabel I de Castilla, La Reina Católica, is the best of the list by a lot. Not point of comparison at all with the bastard child and usurper Elizabeth of England and not even with the germans Catherine of Russia and Victoria of England. María Teresa is not awful or bad but i'm not too fond of her, at least she certainly is also a lot better than Elizabeth, Catherine and Victoria but certainly not as good as Doña Isabel I was.
