The FIRST Woman Professional BullRider | Polly Reich Disaster Story

Ойын-сауық

She was the first woman professional bullrider to compete against men. In a world where it was rare to even find a woman in professional bullriding, it was unheard of to find one that competed in the same circuit as men. Until the day Polly Reich would never climb on top of a bull again.
Polly Reich’s spirit could be compared to the very bulls she was riding: fierce, determined, and wild.
This is her story.

I'm shocked that the PBR hasn't offered her a job! I mean come on seriously, wow what a role model!! I pray that she is doing well and living her best life. Thank you Polly for your trail blazing.

I am not sure how the PBR would be able to use her. 🤔 Yes she is a pioneer for women in Bull Riding. They could offer her something behind the scenes. I would imagine all the full time announcer jobs have long contracted people in place. And it also would depend on her health with her Parkinson's disease.🙁 Offering her something would be a great idea though.👍

The men killed an innocent dog to deter a woman from riding bulls😢??... OMG that is beyond horrendous and unforgivable.😢😢 I am truly shocked, and revolted.

There's 2 things on my bucket list. To ride a bull (not the PBR kind though..lol) and to ride a thoroughbred who has one hell of a turn of foot down the stretch. That has to be one hell of a feeling.

Tough Hedeman a great champion bull rider retired at 28. She decided to take up bull riding at 29 when men start at around 8 with steer or smaller bulls. Men who have stronger bone density hang it up before she started.

Thats one tough lady. 👱‍♀️ My hat is off to her for deciding at 29 that Bull Riding 🐂 was something she was determined to concure. Its sad that the should fracture from being hit by that cop car halted her career prematurely. 😒

I had read that I’m the early 1900’s women did most event in redwood. They made it illegal at that time because some cowgirls were killed. It nice to see some try it again.

I can’t believe I have never heard of Polly!! I don’t follow anything bull riding. But I have heard about the men you spoke of. I love how she just kept fighting!! I can’t believe how those men behaved towards her and I hope they get the karma coming there way very soon!! Just disgusting!! Sounds to me like they shouldn’t be on a bull, there balls are to small!! Polly is an inspiration to all women!! I hope she is ok and living her best life!! 🩷🙏🏽🩷

Howdy, Jen. My Mom & Dad met at the Clarendon, Texas Rodeo in 1954. She was a barrel racer, and he rode bulls, bareback & saddle broncs. & roped. They danced every dance together both nights of the Rodeo Ball. They got married and here I am. : ) Anyway, my Dad has passed away but Mom is still alive and kicking. She's a sports nut, and the PBR is her favorite sport by far. I've never heard of Polly before either. I'll have to ask Mom if she's heard about her. Polly is at least as tough and any cowboy I've ever seen. When the bull she'd rode kicked her square in the face after she got off was savage. Her getting bucked off over the top rail and back into the chute didn't look too bad compared to that. Bull riding ain't for sissies, and Polly ain't no sissy. Mad Respect. Cheers
