I would never do something like that anyway. Of course you are salty when you lose early, and want to do as much as you can beforehand, but having everyone discard will only prolong the game.

@@Leivve Yes, you're right, he would've done that at some point anyway. But in the situation where he knows that he's lost, he deliberately made a decision that does not impact his own chances of winning (since he was dead anyway) and that only prolonged the game and made it less fun for everybody else.

I've never seen a Sacred Cat do so much work. That was purrfect.

That's a very interesting take on Arahbo... instead of commiting to cat tribal, use the cats for early damage with Arahbo's pump and power draw to keep the hand stocked. I'm impressed.

@Jack Counting Serra Ascendant as a 1 drop cat, there's 11 one drop "cats" getting you a 57% chance to have a turn one creature. So with that and a mulligan so have around a 85.5 chance before going down to 6 cards in hard.

Tammy should have been full swinging every turn with her whole board. Reconnaissance essentially allows you to attack for free, untapping creatures in the cleanup step or as they make unfavorable blocks. Was also a lot of missed authority triggers near the end. Overall a very interesting game though.

I like that you can tell the difference between the 2 Trevors just by the girth of their arms.

I like the Arcades list with bribery! It’s a great card in the deck, and a fun one. However 33 lands is ambitious

Both Ghalta and Arahbo should have come into play tapped on Kyle's turn 9 (around 9:35 or so) due to Authority and gained Jammy 2 life. This would have affected things down the road as she died to 8 damage with 7 life where she should have been at 9. Additionally Kyle would have been wide open to whatever attacks anyone wanted to point at him that round which may have significantly altered his own life point total.

That's a big miss we all had. I'm the Arahbo player. They would have been able to attack me for a total of 40 on the dot bringing me to 4. Had I remember it, I would have left the dauntless escort and bellower back to block. I don't think it mattered that Jamie got two life as I was pretty far ahead and could rebuild quickly if she drew a boardwipe off the top, the extra damage taken absolutely.

That's what happens when you run 33 lands and almost no ways to fetch lands out of your deck.... A friend of mine also runs 32/33 lands per deck and is ALWAYS mana screwed, but somehow still thinks that's the optimal number. Needless to say, he never beats any of my decks lol.

I play 30 lands but I also run moxen and a crypt and my average cmc is around the two mark with the largest typically being only give but I do play in high so it is somewhat different to mid and casual. :)

Super impressed with the Arahbo deck. It was really solid.

@@MrBobbybeast I have, its reasonable, Triumph is typically better in decks that go wider, and this deck is made to go tall quickly. It can definitely a game, but doesn't quite work with the main game plan. But this deck is not complete and fully optimized, so it absolutely solid to run

@@MrBobbybeast The main reason why I avoided tribal was that when the deck first came out, there really wasn't any other tribal support cards for cats, but I liked being able to drop a 5/5 on turn one. Running more taxy creatures could definitely be a solid strategy as well, slowing down your opponents a bit. 3 drop thalia is probably a great call for the deck!

My deck isn't reallt cat tribal. It's more an aggro deck using cats to get cheap threats.

I kept listening Erebo over and over again as I was looking for the god. Holy crap a 1 mana cat won the game. I don't know if I should cry or laugh.

I'm the player here. Selfless spirit is used to stop boardwipes, not to protect individual creatures. I play it so I can go wider on the board without fearing of over committing.

I was super excited to see a cats tribal deck but idk if I can call this tribal with all of the additional creature types. I'm glad the Cat deck won but would've loved to see more Cats and non creature support. I've named my Arahbo deck "Big Cats" because it's only Cats, Ramp, +1/+1 counters and some Equipment. I run Helm of the Host to make copies of my Commander so I can target each creature more than once with Arahbo's doubling ability.

Josh has my problem of not drawing into lands until you need to not draw into lands, then only drawing into lands. I know that feeling way too well

I would never scoop in a 1v1 situation unless I have no cards in hand. I can always bluff. I usually have bizzare stuff like deflecting palm that usually comes out of nowhere, and as long as the opponent knows me and has played against me before, they usually try to play around effects that fog the combat step and hit them in the face in the process.

Yeah that was definitely Jammys game. Some really awkward sequencing early game I think trying to play sol ring turn 1 rather than eating the tap land and waiting for 2

Trevor, a suggestion, switch your commander to the sliver overlord and if it isnt in you deck, add Morophon , the Boundless. Nothing like digging up a legendary sliver for 3 colorless and casting it for nothing.

Jamies deck sure looks fun like "you cant play anything because everything you do gains me life or allows me to fuck with you in some way"

First Sliver only grants other Slivers Cascade once the First Sliver is on the field. Because you cascade from casting The First Sliver, it still wasn't on the field yet.

That was because the First Sliver wasn't in play yet. It's still on the stack when you do its own cascade and doesn't give slivers cascade yet.

How did Serra Ascendant die when it was a 6/6 flyer? Did that 1 point of damage have deathtouch? Yuck

When you first cast First Sliver the cascade goes first, but since First Sliver is not on the battlefield yet other slivers don’t have the cascade ability yet so you stop there.

When you cascade off The First Sliver itself it is not on the board until after that first cascade trigger resolves, as such you can only chain cascades on following sliver casts.

Hey, I'm Kyle. I play charmed stray in the deck because in Arahbo its a 1 mana 4/4 with lifelink. The deck wants to use cheap cats to provide early game attacks while playing other big threats that are cheap. The ability for having more charmed strays might as well be flavour text

The ability on The First Sliver that lets other Slivers cascade only goes into effect once The First Sliver is in play. Because it cascades when you cast The First Sliver, it was still on the stack when he hit the Shifting Sliver.

Wait i think there was a misplay with the shifting sliver it shouldve gained a cascade trigger just saying cause first sliver gives all slivers cascade which allows the slivers to go down the chain

Wrong, because The First Sliver was still on the stack when Shifting Sliver was cast with cascade. The First Sliver resolves AFTER its own cascade trigger.

Playing your commander and getting wrath in the same turn when you're mana is the cruelest thing.

Arcades wouldn’t have died to fighting Rhonas, cause act of authority would have tapped both the cat and the tracker.

I'm Kyle. I wiped the board there not because of Arcades, but because of everything else. It was bad timing for Josh, but wasn't targeted at him. I even apologize during the game and he understood and laughed.

I was so sad when Jammy died. She was the only hope of defeating the cats.

At 4:51 Trevor should have kept on cascading from the first sliver due to all sliver spells getting cascade.

Trevor's spite play of making everyone discard is a bad move. What you accomplish by this type of play is delaying the end of the game and making other players salty. It's one thing to inflict damage on the player that took you out, but it's another thing entirely to deny other players resources for no other reason than you can.

It wasn't even a good spite, really. If he wanted to spite Kyle as he was going out, fine whatever, but really it seems like he mostly just handed the game to Kyle, by getting rid of everyone else's ability to deal with him. But yeah I agree with you that the whole "screw everyone else at the table as you die" is pretty annoying. Targeted spite is fine, table spite is BM.

I really can't understand why the guy who's playing ahrabo chooses him, that makes no fucking sense

Just before watching the video, I just want to rant about Slivers since their "rework". I know it is to streamline the general take on board buffs that they should affect only one board and/or not accidentally affect an opponent's creature. And while I thinkthis approach is reasonable and I actually support it, I hate it on the little dudes named Slivers. First of all, it was part of their identity. I didn't play when they first made their appearance, but I guess the draft AND standard meta had always have to be wary of playing Sliver decks, lest they accidentally buff their opponent's board as well.That, in my opinion, makes for more nuanced deckbuilding within those formats - you could slap in a Sliver to reap some benefits, you could maybe include a Flying Sliver as a one-off when your deck had anti Flying tech anyway and such. Now, Sliver Standard and draft are no longer any concern, so bringing them in line with the rest is somewhat justified I guess, and anyway, those formats aren't even being touched by later sets. But they helped build an identity, and within the context of other formats, like Commander, little accidental buffs to opponents' Changelings or Two-Headed Giant's team mate synergies are just gone, which, I think, were neat little things that could happen, but were rare enough to not matter as much as having to monitor it closely. On the other hand, formats where both old and new Slivers are allowed, now always have to double check which one affects all boards and which don't. And the second thing I hate about it is the sheer amount of reprints. Just to make Slivers work like they are supposed to, many keywords have to be reprinted on Slivers, so a format like Commander, that likes redundancy to some extent, gets a big boost to exactly that. Also, basically reprinting is just... uninspired. Lastly though, Old Slivers were cute. New Slivers aren't. >:(

i will dislike EVERY VIDEO you upload where one player is completely mana starved to do anything, unless that player was able to win with the low amount of mana.
