@@backstrok328 Nah, Totem armor doesn't protect against Toxic Deluge. The 8/8 would have survived, and sadly that miss had a big effect on the game.

I've had it happen to me when replacing a card that was in a different deck. I went to a friends house and found my marker card telling me it was in a deck that I didn't bring. I borrowed a card to fill it and we forgot about giving it back. The next time I used that deck, I realized I had stolen a Thief of Sanity from my friend....

I had the opposite problem: I once used Green Sun's Zenith to try and find a specific creature to answer some threat, only to realize I hadn't put it in the deck.

I’ve seen enough hentai to know where this thread is going....

This is why you finish players, not just leave them at a low life total. Especially when they're a deck that doesn't rely on being on the board but rather on the amount of mana they have and the cards in their hands! When I get a nasty start I just tell my friends I respect them too much to spare them and the faster we reach the endgame the faster we can restart! Give no pity, expect none ^^

That's exactly how I view it too. If I have a shitty start, it's cause I didn't Mulligan when I should have and that's my own fault and don't expect my playgroup to show mercy cause of it. Like my buddy always says "If you don't have 3-4 lands in your starting hand, you need to Mulligan.

Tony's hands 100% told the story of that game's finish. Beauty.

Seeing how you ended the game on 1 life the paying 7 mana on Toxic Deluge and killing the 8/8 Octopus Umbra enchanted creature made difference.

I don't know if it would've made the difference, but you could've untapped Mana Vault since turn 4; @3:58 you have 4 open mana before your turn. From my understanding, I believe Decree actually doesn't count commanders. From the ruling, "Destroy To move a permanent from the battlefield to its owner’s graveyard. See rule 701.7," and since going to the commander zone is a replacement effect, commanders never see the graveyard, meaning they never die if they go to the command zone instead. I don't mean to be so naggy, I still love your videos!

701.6b The only ways a permanent can be destroyed are as a result of an effect that uses the word “destroy” or as a result of the state-based actions that check for lethal damage (see rule 704.5g) or damage from a source with deathtouch (see rule 704.5h). If a permanent is put into its owner’s graveyard for any other reason, it hasn’t been “destroyed.” Decree of Pain says "destroy", so that's all you need. A replacement effect putting the permanents in another zone rather than the graveyard doesn't change the fact that they were destroyed, which is why effects that care about things "destroyed this way" will apply to commanders returning to the command zone.

Love the Kestia deck

That was a spicy win at the end there muddstah. Thought your were going to die for a second.

This Kestia deck seems better than the last time. Tony should add some counter spells to deal with boardwipes and finishers.

This was a very enjoyable game to watch. You had a great counterspell for the infinite combo. :)

Dralnu - This is what happens when you play mono black and splash blue for stuff like Turnabout so you can make a ton of mana with Cabal Coffers, then recast it from the graveyard to make even more mana with cabal coffers.

Kestia! Dralnu! Vaevictus! Three decks I love to see!

Finishing the table with Exsanguinate isn't new, but untapping Urborg multiple times by giving Turnabout flashback was interesting.

11:34 Missed the Mana Drain delayed trigger here. You still had tons of mana and won, but ya know, the little things :-)

High Market was used to tap the signet

I shouted 'YES!' at the Exsanguinate at 1 life. Also, thank you for the many mechanics clarifications throughout the game. Those were helpful, and I learned some things.

I would have been singing Living on a Prayer at the end of that game! 🤣🤣😉

at 9:00 you didnt use your cabal coffers to make 7 black. You could have had 15 mana 7 of which would be black. This should have been enough for you to cast your commander, boots and equip it to him.

You were pretty lucky, one more magmatic force trigger on you or the animar attack and you would have been last instead of winner.

Did I miss something, or did Andrew tap sunken hollow and high market for two blue to counter the drake with mana drain on turn 9? Genuinely wondering if I missed something or am I not seeing something else in play?

Yeah, by all means ignore the Dimir deck that keeps drawing tons of cards. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right? Scott not attacking you baffles me; if I were in his shoes, I would've tried to take you out of the game that turn, over the fact that not only did you counter my spell (and probably stopped my combo), but you were about to get a ton of mana in your turn.

For Octopus Umbra being a joke, you sure did forget about what it does and payed 7 life :P

I'll be honest, I just made updates to all of my decks so I don't know all of the cards in them either.

That was a disgusting way to end the game! Finally saw dralnu win won!

I'd like to point out Kestia draws two cards if an enchanted enchantment creature attacks

Why do people use Kestia so much as a commander? I much prefer Tuvasa as my Bant Enchantress deck's commander. Kestia is in my 99

HUGE mistake for scott to not kill you at the end of game. Don't know what he was thinking on that. Like i get trying to be nice and letting people play, but the game had been going long enough for that to not be a factor. "Being nice" straight up let you steal the game out from under everyone.

Why didn’t Scott just kill you when you were at 1? Yes you could have blocked with your commander but then you would have had to sac permanents. Were you not perceived by the table as a threat at 1 life? Was that commander courtesy ? Look what it did to the game, you stole that one Andrew, well played.
