OMGosh! Painting ceilings is so difficult. What a champ your dad is. Having your parents around to help, must be a blessing. Your primary suite is coming along so nicely. As a maker myself, who is basically working out of my small dining room, I’m impressed it took you this long to take one of the rooms as a dedicated atelier. I would have been plotting and planning the moment the decision to stop the b&b. 😅 What a dream! Cheers!

I was wondering Anna why your dad doesn't use a pole for the ceiling painting. I am of an age, the less I climb a ladder the better. I just painted the vaulted ceiling in my home and the pole was amazing and very helpful. Yes, one still needs to climb a ladder when cutting in. I love your channel, and feel inspired with all your projects. So happy your parents are there with you all 🥰

Yes, I kept saying to the screen, "Buy a pole!" Even if you're on a ladder, an extension to the handle works so much better, and safer than leaning way over

The master suite would be a beautiful place to wake up with that delightful sunny yellow colour, as you're well aware, Anna. You have a wonderful ability to choose colours to accentuate the light in the spaces of your home. Philip, you have a great set of skills. I marvel at how both of you compliment each other.

I was wondering why you havent moved into the old guest rooms. The kids can each have their own rooms and you get the new master suite. I would personally use the upstairs attic as your atelier. I like the basson with the wallpaper ❤

Your parents are lovely! What an amazing difference your dad made, how fun!! And I’m guessing your mum was happy with some grandma time. Color drenching is a technique used to make small rooms seem larger, but you’ve got massive rooms so you don’t need to go that route. And the beauty of color drenching is when you mix sheens and textures to really pop up the interest, because color drenched rooms can otherwise feel boring and incomplete. I think your gorgeous yellow ochre and yellow ochre with white lino-printing is going to be lovely. You’ll get the warmth of a Ziggy colored space with the gorgeous texture of the wallpaper. It’ll be fun. In renovation work there are months of hard work where it doesn’t look like much is happening. My favorite was always when the paint started to go up and from then on the changes happened faster and made a bigger impact. Wishing you all the best in your endless labor of love.

The snow footage is incredible. No. Its really really really beautiful. you need more snow footage. It takes a beautiful chateau and turns it into a magical place.

So I have been unable to be on point with many of my favorites vlogs. I lost my beloved hubby of 37 yrs to cancer, and also he had FTD on top that. But I just caught up and OH MY GOSH! I love the color you tested with the brighter white wallpaper. It’s beautiful and shows your design talent. You have to put your talent in your bedroom. Your parents are wonderful people. Wow! You are so fortunate to have your parents who are able to help out :) My father never got to see my first home, so I am always touched when I see others who are able to share their space with parents. What great memories for your family. PS , over here across the big pond, what was once called the Master bedroom is now called the Main or Primary bedroom. The term “Master bedroom” evokes the period of slavery in the USA, and so there has been an intentional pivot away from it. An added bonus, the word main is just one syllable, so it is also more efficient.

I think the blue and grey really add some elegant drama which is great for a primary. Save the beige for guest or auxiliary rooms.

Yes, I really liked the elegant softness of the linoprint on the more muted off-white, rather than the bright white, and agree that it will be too busy, but it seems we're in the minority.

I have always loved the color of deep, rich blue, as shown in the architects first display, but when I saw the 2nd shade of golden brown displayed I thought that was heaven. I had never considered that I might even like that golden brown shade as a wall color, so I wrote down the architects information for the future. Thanks for sharing.
