France has built some beautiful places. Thanks for allowing us to tag along with u
Thank you Sean for taking us to many extraordinary places we will probably not be able to go in our life times.
What an incredibly amazing place Chateau Carrouges is and restored to a wonderful standard, what a lovely day out Seán 😊
Sean, my husband and myself love it when you include us in your wandering. What a beautiful place! Love the architecture and all the exhibits and rooms. Thank you for sharing 💜
Oh, I can hardly wait until Thursday!!! I am an avid historian from the 14th to the 16th Century, so to see this building and the inside brings all the royalty and times these buildings went through right up close and helps me to see what the historians were writing about. I am so glad you took us here today! Oh, I read where the grounds encompass 25 acres.
Wow!!! What an amazing chateau. The buildings are huge and such beautiful architecture. I am in awe at how these were constructed with stone, brick and mortar. The grounds are so expansive! I loved seeing the moat😊❤️
What a beautiful chateau! I really liked the fireplaces, all different and beautiful. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you. The kitchen was beautiful!
I love the two-toned bricks in different patterns.
WOW Sean…….just….wow!!!! Such grandeur. Here in the Netherlands so much has been taken down, replaced by new builds or destroyed in WWII…. I envy the French and the British for so much of their heritage is still intact, for us to see and admire to this day. Thanks so much for taking us along. I really like this second channel. Your videos are wholesome and a joy to watch!

especially France, England does not have the heritage of France and above all in perfect state of conservation available to France
This Chateau is amazing through and through😊
It must cost a fortune to maintain a chateau and the grounds like this! I love the kitchen! Thank you for sharing Sean!💋
Hunting room 100% sculptures were amazing😊
You certainly are a multi talented gent!😊 Thanks for taking us along.
Wow Sean! This place is stunning! The details in those massive fireplaces was incredible! Love this! Thank you, what a treat!
What a magnificent place you have discovered... the brick work there was so lovely! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy that with you... Can't wait for part 2.
Lovely. Game rooms very important not just to pass time but to gamble
Beautiful chateau great architecture ❤
Simply fabulous château!! Just love all things French.
Sean, thanks for bringing us along. What an amazing chateau! The stone + brick facings were incredible. And the copper pots were a dream come true for you, no doubt!
Wow! I would be quite satisfied to live in the gatehouse...
The artistry in the brick work…is this a full preserved estate…history-history ! And a full moat
Thank you for letting us explore with you.
Thanks for the trip out lovely place ❤
Thank you for taking me through these beautiful historical places‼️😍🙌🏻👏🏻🥰
Oh my, such a gorgeous castle, Europe is full of castles, can't get enough of them, so much history . Beautifully decorated too. Then kitchen with all the copper is amazing, you must been in aw Sean :) Thank you for sharing, its very nice.
Sean, you sure enjoy the past. There is so much beauty in the structures. Normandy must be moist as there is so much green growth on the stones. The pattern on the outer stonework is quite interesting. Somewhat like an Irish chain. Such intricate sculptures and carvings throughout. Can you imagine working back in that time.
Wow, how beautiful and huge. This is thr first time I've seen one with the moat all the way around. Simply amazing!
Thank you for the tour Sean....so much different from the south of France...enjoying these tours.😊
Ooh Sean! Copper heaven indeed! Another lovely tour. Thank you!
See you Thursday😊

Well he doesn't live in a chateau😅 but the cottages are as precious as those grandiose houses.....in fance we don't call them cottages, they have different names (cottage is a small house but his small houses aren't really what define a small house in france).

Just stunning. Thanks, Sean.
Great Sean, now it's 44.856 other french castles to visit, lot of work left to you ;)
Love furniture and prints in sitting room😊
Wow just beautiful.
Fantastic, thank you. Can’t wait till the next part.👍
Oh my heart Sean 😮 🤝😁💞you know I loved this place seriously absolutely beautiful truly did you touch the walls and stone work? Lol I would of had to 😂❤ Tku tku for sharing this Lovely Place seriously tku Sean 🎉
This chateau is beautiful and I can’t wait to see part 2.
The tree lined avenue that you first showed us at the beginning of the video is fantastic. But just imagine if that had a 15mtr × 15mtr h&w pergola running the entire length of it filled with Roses, Wisteria, Clematis, Honeysuckles, Jasmine - both summer & winter varieties, etc. It would have (at least) 3 seasons of interest, if not 4 seasons, should some evergreen climbers be included. A lot more maintenance of course, but it would prove to be an even greater draw than just the magnificent architecture.
That was amazing! Enjoyed it so much! Thanks!❤❤
incredible brickwork
Another fantastic trip. Thank you for taking us along!!
Gorgeous!!
Now Sean I hope this is how your going to update your little Castle for you wonderful wife Sam😃
Well that’s pretty stunning. I love the gate house. Must have taken awhile to build that. Thanks Sean 😊
Just had a private little laugh, this being the extreme version of Phil's little chatou and moat.
Another great video Sean and Tom ❤❤
Those extremely peaked towers would repel rain, and especially heavy snow. . They are very unusual.
Dear Sean, thanks for the video. An interesting story about it : the first château de Carrouges was built by Jean de Carrouges, whose story is told by Ridley Scott in his movie "The Last Duel", with Jodie Comer, Matt Damon and Adam Driver. A very good movie, actually.

Hi Sean, Chateau Carrouges is definitely a reminder of a time so long ago. The Chateau is stunning. the architecture is magnificent considering how and what they had at that time of the build. I love this new channel, thank you for bringing us along. Love from N.Y.
Beautiful courtyard place looks amazing.😍
Awesome, that was so nice, thank you & hi from California 🌴

Welcome
Wow amazing, love the design in the bricks at the beginning and throughout the entire Chateau. Questions: 1) at 7:58 you showed a stone with a hollow in it what is that used for? 2) 17:02 there was a table that had three wood things with bowls and wood handles what were they used for? Thanks for sharing and telling the history. I love learning new stuff, Makes life fun. Have a great day
In the portrait room, do you see the massive "fireback" that saves the brick on the back of the fireplace from heat damage? They look ornamental but are very practical. Now I see your inspirations for your cottage - all the copper.
Such a beautil castle, you could fish in your own moat.
What a beautiful chateau ❤❤❤❤❤Thanks for taking us along 😍😘
500 years --that's a lot of ducking and diving!
Wow fantastic place
Oh my word, what a beautiful chateau. The entrance reminds me of scenes from movies. The brick work and the detail in the exterior decor is incredible. I would love to be the chef in that kitchen. What scoffs I would create! I would love a revisit in summer to see the gardens in full bloom. I'm looking forward to part 2. Thanks for the tour, Sean.❤
Love your channel and it feels like we are there with you. It’s the way you film 🤗🇨🇦
We went there in September it’s an amazing place and the painted room has to be seen to appreciate it ❤
Thank you, that was lovely. :)
These tours are a history lesson. This chateau is beautiful and a wonderful place to visit. Thank you for taking us along.
Stunning 😢thank you! 🤩
Really enjoyed this château, I think perhaps the best you've shown to date. Your daughter's choice of music was excellent, far surpasses music on some of others' KZread videos where it's repetitive and boring. Is the brick for the chateau local? There's certainly loads of it. Is the chateau still in the family's hands?
Thank you Sean for your fantastic tours. I love everything about your shows. My husband born in France Ian a little town called Bussac I think that is the spelling. I am not sure. But, his dad served in world War II with the United States Army.
Beautiful video 🥰
I wonder if where the moated paterre garden is now, originally had thick, high defensive walls and underwent remodelling like many such sites once the security & political situations changed. It would be very unusual indeed for a raised parterre garden such as this complete with a moat, not to have such a history It also looks as though it might originally have been used as either a marshalling ground for mounted horsemen or sparing arena for weapons training.
What an unusual and interesting place!
Speechless
Lovely lovely place Sean 🎉
Thanks, Sean. I would have liked more information on the "gallery of buttons". Were there buttons for specific hunting colors and clothing? And was that a portrait of Louis XIV at 12:07 ? If so, what was his connection to this chateau? It would be such a treat if you could gather some information on these wonderful places and then relay that information to us. 🤗

It is indeed Louis XIV. There is no particular connection between this king and the château but aristocratic family very often had a portrait of the king in their home, as a sign of respect. More surprisingly, if you ever visit Blenheim castle in England, you will see a huge portrait of Louis XIV !
If those rooms could talk just imagine what they would say lol. Awesome tour! :)
Beautiful setting for sure
❣️
On a somber note, in reality l will never get there in my lifetime. Thank you.
🥰❤️
Oh my goodness beautiful! Whose château was this? Also you mentioned the beautiful badges I think it was the hunting room. I’m so curious as to what they were for maybe the kill? Well now I’m guessing lol fascinating place though thank you.

@heliedecastanet1882

@@karenviglione503 The family was Le Veneur de Tillières (but first, the family de Carrouges). There is a wikipedia page in English for the château. The medieval château was built by Jean de Carrouges, the very same person who is one of the main characters of Ridley Scott's movie "The Last Duel" with Jodie Comer, Adam Driver and Matt Damon.
💜💙💚
Do you know why the crosses in windows?
I find it interesting how this video accidentally showcases how ego-centric those of us from the USA are. When museums even think about adding both Spanish and English descriptions everyone throws a fit, because Spanish isn't our national language. However, we expect to be able to understand things when we go places where English isn't their national language. Good job for doing things better than us!
Why do you suppose they mounted all those horns/antlers.?

If you read up on its history you will see this was lived in by decendants' of the same family for over 500yrs, up until 1936. The state purchased this and the furniture then, so to say it's not original may not be a matter of fact
