What a delightful tour. IMHO, there was the perfect balance of narration, silence and music.
Imagine the number of stones that went into the construction of that place... Thank you Sean !!
Sean these travel videos are so professionally made. Good music, narration and video tour. What an amazing fortress with thousand maybe millions of stones. How many stone masons would it have taken to build such a massive fortress. The level of upkeep and repointing the stone through the centuries must have been extensive. It was a brutal and difficult time to be alive 1000 years ago, but wow, they knew how to build. The views of the village are wonderful. Thank you for taking us to this memorable medieval castle.
It always boggles my mind how thick the walls in these places are. Thanks Sean!
Hi Sean, this fortress is amazing. It is hard to visualize the work that went into constructing this fortress. With no modern machinery or tools. The man hours, the back breaking work that it took. Thanks for bringing us along, for taking us back in time. Love from N.Y.
It’s amazing to me how thick those walls were built. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
Seeing places like that amazes me to see history still standing.😊
Quality workmanship went into building the castle.
Hard to believe it is still intact after 1000 years. The stories of lifetimes!😊
Another stunning tour! Sean, you take us along on the best adventures. Thank you so much 💜
Very interesting. What fun to walk about and explore.
Visited it a few times now amazing place. With the garden walk with the river is lovely. Thankyou Sean
Little did they know, they could have generated their green hydroelectric power in the future! What an enchanting place. Thanks for the tour, Sean! 😊
Having to watch these on a wide screen 😊❤
I just kept saying "Wow!" with every turn of the camera. So many things to see! Perfect music choice! Those views from the top were amazing. Imagining the fortress teaming with activity over the hundreds of years. Thousands of feet walked those steps and halls. (Seeing the very clean fireplaces, knowing your struggles, I am wondering how the museum did it? 🤔 ) Thank you, again!
Love your choice of music
This place is awesome. It is huge and beautiful. A lot of work went to making this for sure. Have a great day and safe travels
Thankyou Sean, much better filming, you've gone slower & showing more detail, just adding info occasionally. Well Done, great improved.. 🎖What a location!
That was an amazing adventure ! Thanks for sharing, Sean. 👍👍
Sean, you just saved me a ticket to France. What a great tour. Thank you! John from Bethel, Missouri. USA
Fascinating tour Sean, thank you! That large wooden ceiling support was amazing😄❤️
Absolutely stunning! 😍 Loved the 15th C cannon, how cool it survived & it's still there! ❤❤❤
Sean, loved the tour, I watched twice, thank you so much for sharing.
This is another great tour! So much gratitude! Ty
I can't be alone in wondering what these sorts of places would look like if they were to have all of the walls and rooves etc reinstated. There's always bits in ruins or only the foundational footprint of a section of a historic property that leads me to whimsical wondering. Caernarfon Castle in Caernarfon, Nth Wales is a prime example that springs to mind.
Lovely music, lovely video, many thanks Sean and Company 💖💖💖
Amazing place!

Hello Sean thank you for another great video😊
It's a popular fortress because of it history.....the medieval city is worth the tour too.
Great vlog Sean.
Another very interesting video!
Sean, what a great place to visit. I'm in awe! Thank you for taking the time to visit and post. I will never be able to visit in person but I feel like I am right by your side taking in all the sights. God bless you
Love your choice of music 🎵🎶. Thank you for the❤ lovely video
i love round, stone rooms, thanks for the tour, sean!❤
What an amazing chateau, Sean. It sort of has a feel of Scotland, more so than France. I bet you would have enjoyed being part of the original construction crew! Can't imagine how much time was necessary to fashion the stones for the exterior...without the benefit of an electric power saw.

Good morning!
Maybe one day I will be able to visit the place. If not I got to see it on your video.😊
Love the trips you take us to chateaux, castles, and beautiful places. Mr. Not the Biggest Fortress” know-it-all should just enjoy and shut up. Am sure he was the kid in class no one could stand 😂
That red room sounded like torment😳
Yep what to make of 'found' architecture of industrail stuctures back in 724 AD.
WOW 😮
Very cool !
Were you in the kitchen yet? Or the grande hall where everyone are? Is that coming up next? Were any of the water wheels left for grinding grain etc? On the stream through the fortress?
Be safe and careful.😊👍🙏
Wow
As I look at this, it occurs me that should society collapse, it probably wouldn't take long before people gravitated to returning to using the castle to its original purposes: living, working, and defensive functions.
France is beautiful at the country sites.
Sean must have been a guide in a previous life 5 *

Wow, many of the walls at the beginning of the video could stand a good pointing, Sean. And some need rebuilding. Aren't you glad you didn't have to do it! ?

Not Europe's largest fortress...doesn't even make the Top 10. The largest medieval fortress in Europe in this state of preservation, yes.

if you could read french, you could literally go to the tourism page for the region where the fortress is situated and it says it right there. People like you fascinate men Jeanna. The unwarranted confidence is astounding.

@@jasminec_ Je comprend Francais, mais ce n'est pas le sujet. Fougerres is 5 acres. Carcassonne is 27 acres. My point is that Fougerres is not the largest fortress in Europe but it is the largest MEDIEVAL fortress. Be polite.
Wow another great adventure! I wonder how long it took to build it the walls are so thick. I surely wouldn't want to be a servant there because those stairs would kill me and they did it while carrying stuff. Awesome! :) :)
