F1 World is Ultimate Team and the rest of the game like career mode and pro clubs are left to die because they dont generate money after purchase. And you only talked about career/singleplayer. Multiplayer is also terrible, penalty system is extremely broken, there are not enough adjustments to set up a perfect lobby, less tracks, no historical tracks, short versions, classic cars obviously, f3 cars possibly. Just overall after f1 2020 the game fell off massively and it's only a matter of time until people go somewhere else if it keeps going like this

The biggest disgrace was Removing Classic Cars.

It's not the first time I hear how good F1 2020 was and even though I put 200+ hours in it I think there were some serious shortcoming in it. For starters, all the stuff you mention about customisation. Then a lot of small but annoying stuff like all your setups are saved in a huge not filterable list. There's also one table for the championship, no statistics or anything. Your race engineer and your teammate are useless so you're pretty much on your own even in My Team. I wouldn't call it THAT good.

I like F1 2021 tho. I understand why people hated on it because of the removal of classic cars, but the handling for me was better than ever and so was the AI. I think it belongs in the great era and not in the era of shitty games like 2022 and 2023.

Wouldnt exactly call on the license being nabbed by someone else. Motorsport Games. If they nab it that row of f1 games is going to be absolute crap and even worse than whatever EA is doing there.

I run f1 2012 servers every once in a while. Its a shame it's delisted it was the best $1 I ever spent in a steam sale.

PREACH! It is shocking how awful the UI is, from the loading screen “press any button” literally not detecting ANY button you press (a feature that carries over year after year) to hiding the ability to actually set up your car. Oh, but we can furnish apartments and admire a bunch of tools sitting around on their phones… We need Max Verstappen to flex on this. He’s a no bs type, if he bought them out, I bet the games would improve toot suite.

I always wait to personally test the product before give any judgement. In ten days i will know if i will like it or not, honestly i liked F1 23, i never used f1 world if not for some multiplayer race, but mostly for career mode.

Milestone and the MotoGP games essentially do the same except they have waaaay more bugs

The sticker book could actually be a nice addition if you'd get stickers for miles driven, points scored, races completed and stuff like that. All in career and multiplayer of any kind of course since those two should be the core game modes of every modern sports game.

If you jumped back into F1 2020 from any of the later games, you’ll instantly realized how little and useless their AI “advancements” had made after 2020. 2020 is what probably the peak of where they’ve been, they were more balanced, more natural on their aggressiveness, they don’t chicken out like you’re an ambulance, and they don’t have bugged pace in certain parts of certain tracks like they used to do from 2021 onward

Multiplayer is entirely broken for me. It crashes my wifi whenever I go onto F1 23 multiplayer. No other game does that

The last time I saw an option to make all cars even was Grand Prix 3. A game from 2000... maybe it was a feature somewhere else, and I missed it. But that's the only place I personally witnessed it.

I'm sure we still can't see the top of our helmet in the market. We can only rotate them horizontally. SMH

The Driver career mode is making a comeback it seems but we dont have any hard details yet, and they have some different changes to handling and a more "realistic feel". This video was made before those announcements. I would personally wait until the general public has access to it before I would buy. Not after content creators sponsored by EA tells me the game is good.

Good video mate. Personally I have enjoyed the racing in F1-23 and it was a step up from 22 - I do agree with your point re EA strategy of bad game followed by a good but I think given new cars/handling in 22 it was always expected to improve into 23 as Codemasters improved the physics/FFB. That said, you are spot on re EA and their approach (who cares about clothes and furniture ffs!) but sadly I just see the cycle repeating itself: they always know when cash runs out on this, they’ll buy some other studio and repeat process (buy company/game, ruin game but people still buy for a few years, sales dry up/bad reviews… go back to start). Sadly this will only continue when people buy these games every year.

It was to be expected with the EA Codemasters takeover F1 games would get the FIFA treatment.

I have played through soo much of f1 2020 ... Loved the career mode... Didn't like the handling for f1 22 and will probably not buy f1 24... Want to play f1 20 again but on a good system now ... But its not on psn anymore and getting a disc in my country is very difficult

The only new feature I like is the compendium, I feel like that’s quite a nice feature

F1 Games suck since the start of the codemasters era

Wow I thought I was the only one who felt this way everything you said was 100% true if f1 24 still has furniture and super cars I'm not buying it.

I've been using f1 challenge 99-02 for a while by now, and I must say it's the only f1 game you'll ever need. It's features are: - uses the RFactor engine, so the cars feels amazing - it contains 4 seasons of content in one game - more settings for both driving assists and car setup than all of Codemasters games ever had - Online works (although you'll need to do a sonewhat long but easy setup for it) - you can play online with mods (all players must use the same mod to being able to play together) Apart from the championship mode, which is pretty minimal, this game still holds up to this day as one of the best f1 games ever Edit: typo

Also the fact that it's abadonware makes it also legal to download from the internet. So it's literally a free and half open source alternative to modern f1 games

Thankfully EA play is included in Game Pass Ultimate so I can play the the EA published F1 games without having to buy them. F1 2020 is the latest F1 game I actually bought. Skipped over 21 and 22 and am now playing 23 via Game Pass / EA play and will be giving 24 a try on day one since it is also included in EA play when it releases

Iracing is currently working on Nascar 25...if anyone could do F1 justice I believe they could as they are obsessed with creating a 1 to 1 experience...now whether they will get the opportunity is another story, but if they do don't look for a F1 gane every year...maybe every three years.

Iracing itself is a trainwreck. The last game that used Iracing as the engine (World of Outlaws) got good reviews but died extremely fast.

I cannot agree more with you. Especially F1 2021 was insanely horrible, but honestly, looking back, I would play that abomination over F1 23, which is just one giant mess of bugs developed by EA SPORTS. 2021 at least had a slight touch of development work from Codemasters (since the EA deal happened during development) even though the game was trash. I too hope that EA SPORTS get stripped of the F1 license soon, because F1 is truly at its worst state like you said. But I do want to give F1 24 a chance, and if it's garbage, I won't purchase another F1 game until a different developer takes over.

On the one hand, I understand what you're saying. on the other hand, it must be remembered that sales of this game in 2023 dropped by 40%. From a business point of view, it seems to me that it doesn't make much sense to sell shit in 2024. Based on this, I think they got their act together and improved this and that. I always buy a game only when several content creators say it's worth it.

When the license runs out it goes to the highest bidder. That will either be EA again or some other big studio who doesn’t give a fuck. They’re the only ones with the money for it.

I've always wanted polyphony to get the F1 license. Would be such a love letter to the sport. The old PS1/ PS2 F1 games were the best, and GP3 and GP4 on PC. Again, GP4 just nailed the handling I would just drive laps of Imola for fun :)

F1 2012 was my first Formula 1 game and it alone is what got me into F1. It was 2013 and it was the first time F1 was aired on network in the states in a hot minute. Having played 2012, and being a huge racing fan to boot, i slid into F1 fandom like a glove. That being said, these new games are absolute ass. I really think the series peaked with 13, but you could argue 20 was as good, if not better, as well. I bought every game from 2012 to 21 (except for 14) and there were times, sure I was disappointed, but it wasn't until EA came in and completely removed old games from the storefront and then proceeded to add a bunch of shit no one asked for that It was completely over for me. I bought 22 and refunded it within an hour of playing. My hard earned money can go elsewhere. Im not interested in lining shareholders' pockets. Even the sport itself has some serious work to do. Ever since Liberty took over, its been far less about racing, and honestly? I couldn't give two shits about made up drama and reality TV

Why can't they just make a F1 game with modern graphics in the 2002 -2004 Era. With real refueling stops and without shit stuff beside F1 driving. I do not want to drive supercars just to push my career.

People already do that with FIFA and Madden. It doesn't matter if people complain - it matters if people buy the game. If you buy it, you're telling EA "I'm happy enough to give you my money" and that's all that matters.

If Codemasters doesn't get their new F1 license, F1 should give the rights to Polyphony and they can release official F1 DLCs. Imagine how well they'll make those cars handle

I remember when EA bought Codemasters... That's when I checked out because I've already been down this road before. Copy/paste games, microtransactions, features being stripped and then added back in as "headline features", no changes to the modes people actually want to play etc. I am surprised in a way though because with FIFA, there is no good alternative. Same with Madden... You either play EA's game or you play something inferior. With motorsports games, that's not the case. There are tons of other options! I appreciate that if you're on console, the options are a bit more limited but anyone who buys F1 on PC, complains about it and then buys F1 again 100% deserves what they're getting.
