The extraordinary world of beetles

Beetles are one of the most numerous orders of insects.
They come in all shapes and sizes. They inhabit a variety of habitats.
They are found both in the soil and in the crowns of trees. They lead a day or night lifestyle, usually remaining hidden, so that in nature we see only a small fraction of the entire variety of species of beetles.

This is an irresistible mix of the adventurous Espoza Travel channel, the spirit of David Attenborough, and the intrigue of the Granada Television Sherlock Holmes series featuring Jeremy Brett...in a forest in Poland. 😁 Excellent work!

I really enjoyed this film. The translation was fantastic as was the voice over. I loved learning about the various beetles that exist in Polish forests, it was fascinating and very informative. I also am very grateful that Poland has done so much hard work to maintain both the old growth forests and all the organisms that live there. The rest of Europe and the UK would do well to learn from Polands example of how to do things right for forests and forestry.

Thank you so much. What an amazing production, which must have taken many, many patient hours to track down so many different species, and then to film their behaviour so revealingly. It seems you have a wealth of beetle species in your forests, and many are handsome or even spectacular, especially the longicorn species. Recently my son-in-law was moving an old tree stump in his suburban garden and inside the dead wood there were many lesser stag beetle larvae and a few adults; in the soil beneath the stump we found larvae at least twice the size which could only be from the larger stag beetles. We did our best to bury any that were uncovered and perhaps in a few years adult beetles will be trundling around their garden or whirring through the air on spring evenings!

It's great that you protect the beetles around. Each such biodiverse "little garden" is important for all nature. We love your comments! Thank you for watching the video and leaving some valuable words.
