The Atlantic and Indian Oceans should be renamed as Ethiopian Ocean. I hope the current Ethiopia regional maps will be modified so as to make all Ethiopians live anywhere in Ethiopia as Ethiopian. Thank you Professor for your in-depth studies on the history of map of Ethiopia. Once we were a big nation having more than a half portion of the world with oceans and sea. Now we are disappearing even from the current minute states. God help us of gain our momentum of becoming big nation again.

Great video sir. This is defenitley the solution to Ethiopias problem. The only region I would assume would oppose to this would be Tigray because it goes against TPLF's grand plan of Greater Tigray.

First of all, there seems to be some confusion here. The term "Aeithiopia" continent was historically used to describe Sub-Saharan Africa, stretching from Ethiopia to Mauritania on the Atlantic Ocean in the western part of Africa. The name "Aeithiopia" was also applied to Southern and Central Africa but not North Africa. Somalia was not referred to as Aeithiopia; rather, the ancient Greeks and Romans divided the African continent based on physical appearances. Libya was in the north, Macrobia in the east, and Aeithiopia in the south, central, and west. The name "Aeithiopian" meant the Greek term for "burnt face people" or dark individuals living in ancient Nubia, Ethiopia, and Southern and Western Africa, as observed by the Greeks during their visits. Secondly, Macrobia was another continent within Africa, bordering Aeithiopia in the east, which corresponds to present-day Greater Somalia. It stretches from the Lamu region in Kenya to Southern Djibouti, Central, and Eastern Ethiopia. Its inhabitants were called the Macrobian kingdom or Macrobian people. "Macro" refers to those who were tall, and the name also signifies warriors, as the Macrobian people defeated the Persian Empire of Achaemenid. The Macrobian people were known for their legendary longevity, living up to 120 years, and were extraordinary individuals with great power and wealth. On the other hand, Libya referred to North Africa, encompassing the Maghreb region, Egypt and Chad. Ancient Egypt and the Maghreb region of North Africa are referred to as the Libya continent, while ancient Nubia was included among the Aeithiopian people. Another point of clarification is regarding the region of Ogaden, which was not initially part of the Ethiopian Empire. Instead, the Somali region, along with Northern Somalia, was colonized by the British and not Ethiopia. The British ruled both the Somali region and Somaliland state in Northern Somalia. Many people mistakenly believe that the Somali region was part of the Ethiopian Empire and was not colonized by the British, Italian, or French. However, Ethiopia later gained control of this land from the British, but the region was initially part of British Somaliland. Therefore, it's important not to exclude the Somali region from British Somaliland because both regions were under British rule and not under the Christian Abyssinian Empire. The Macrobian land was known as "Khebsi," meaning the divine land, by the anciet Egyptians, and later referred to as "Barbario" by the ancient Classical Greeks. One mistake that all African people need to correct is to properly research and understand the historical map of Africa. Many believe that the entire continent was called Aeithiopia, but this is not true. Africa was referred to as Macrobia, Aeithiopia, and Libya, each representing the people and not the land itself, but rather how the people living in these regions were perceived by ancient Greeks and Romans. Even the Greeks did not mention visiting an entire continent called Aeithiopia. Instead, when they visited Africa, such as ancient Nubia, they referred to it as the Aeithiopian kingdom, which corresponds to the Kush of ancient Nubia and not the modern country of Ethiopia. Much of ancient Nubian civilization was referred to as Aeithiopia, not because they were related to modern Ethiopia, but because Sudan was part of the Aeithiopian continent. Therefore, it's important not to spread misinformation and instead conduct thorough studies to understand the historical context accurately.

@@Llmakebede the modern ethiopia gets its name during late 19 century before it was known as abysinia or aksum. in the arab world ethiopia and The horn of africa was known as Ardul al habesh meaning the region of hebash people which even was considered all of The inhabiters of horn of africa but today the ethiopian use The word habesh for its own meaning such as The semetic speaking ethnics groups in ethiopia' Djibouti and eritrea . Also sudan and ethiopia have connected history as anciet nubia was believed to had close ties with ethiopia and relate culturally and being the biblical land of kush or kushites people which cushitic ancestors in these two countries.

@@Llmakebede My comment is about recent news about China, India and Nepal map related disagreements and how the news is narrated differently by all sides. Wondering, when it becomes history 100, 1000 years later, which record prevails as fact. The geography history you are covering today probably followed the same path.

Another point is that the map is based on the rights of the dominate population, and usually the dominate population lives in their historical land. That's why Tigray didn't take back all the land Amharas stole even. But we Eritreans want all of it back in the Greater Eritrea.

The historical evolution is great, the conclusion is colonial mentality. You can't separate people from their land and heritage, that's the Roman trick to steal land. That's why Ethiopia which used to cover the entire kush is now a small colony. You must know the violence is sponsored by the colonialist, that doesn't make heritage bad. Ownership and use must be separated. Just because one ethnicity is aboriginal to the land and owns it. Doesn't stop visitors, remember Ethiopia is entire Earth

Thanks the comment. The introduction is the conclusion because history lives as long as humans exist on earth. The conclusion is not necessarily about what should be rather it is a warning about the consequences of attaching land to superficial behaviors such as religion and language.

@Hasan Hussle the map of Ethiopia during the Aksumite dynasty time included today’s Ethiopia up to Awash river to the south and had the sea coast from Adulis down to Zeila under its control. Present day Eritrea and parts of northeastern Sudan were also under its control. Yemen across the Red Sea was also part of our Aksumite dynasty at some point.
