Best video on these apps out there. I was trying to find a proper comparison of each one since I don’t want to sign up for multiple. Your video gave me a one stop shop to do this - thank you so much!

Great review. I would add for outstare folks and folks that use Charge point stations like Lund’s & Byerlys , then ChargePoint app and wallet set up are must have. Agree you must be data driven to invest in these other apps. Not to mention how the third party app connection to your car may allow someone else to access it. Maybe not yet i too cautious to take that chance.

You're the Ev app king now no one has made a video like this before on multiple apps.

Thanks John! There's probably a few out there, but I might be the only one who gets really frustrated with them. 😂

Great video and presentation! Thank you! How do you video yourself simultaneously while showing us on the screen on the left of what you are doing? What software or app?

Thanks! I use Ecamm Live, a live streaming software, but you can also record locally to your computer. I edit on a mac in FCPX, so I'll just import that recording and edit out the bad takes or wasted time. Hope that helps!

C'mon man - no opinion on Tessie just because you can't manage a trial subscription for your channel? Thanks, I was excited to see what you had to say but you said nothing. Cheers, maybe next time.

That's fair criticism, I appreciate it, and I do understand. It's tough to pick where I spend money for the channel. I've been doing steady EV content since 2018, but just got monetized late last year. So far the income from the channel is less than $300, so less than a couple road trip hotel rooms. I'm not in it for the money, but I do have to make choices about how much personal cash goes into video content. I'll do my best to make videos like this more comprehensive in the future. Thanks!

on Tessie you had an option to skip the subscription part in the upper right corner in case others are watching this at a later date

Thank you for pointing this out, I really appreciate it! This video and a couple others of mine are pretty out of date and have accidental inaccuracies in them. I assumed they'd just fade into the YT mists of time, but they seem to keep being recommended. I'll be removing them from the channel soon so I'm not misleading people. Thanks for reminding me of this one.

I'm curious on how the Tessie app does for Siri controls (like from an Apple Watch) or from a Smart Home Speaker. Might be slick to tell your smart speaker "warm up the car".

very good review. my Model Y is on order for a May-June delivery so you helped me to pick out apps. I have a question on a different subject, what charging plugs do you keep in your Model Y? I was thinking J1772 and the cable that is included…is that enough?

Thanks Kenny. I keep the J1772 adapter that comes with the car in there all the time. I daily charge with my mobile connector so it’s not in my car day-to-day, but I make sure I put it in the vehicle for out of town trips just in case. The mobile connector comes with the standard household 120v plug, then I also bought a NEMA 14-50 plug adapter. The 14-50 is what I use to charge at home and I’ve used it in a few campgrounds as well. So far, those 3 options have been enough for me.

42:54 - regarding the Tessie free trial: there's a "Skip" button on the top-right corner. You didn't need to pick a trial. That said, one of the big things about Tessie is that it seems to be one of the few Tesla apps out there that lets you control your vehicle using an Apple Watch. You can also set up voice commands via Shortcuts.
