It's because the song was written by Northern irish rioters (It says "Officers are bad news." In one part). I'm northern irish and I respect the PSNI so I feel like it's a load of crap to be doing this to the police.

You mean your island? Never was a unified Irish state for more than 10 years until British rule. Plus the celts are not native to Ireland which means they did the exact same thing. So unless you want the celts to leave Ireland then the British have the same right to stay as they are just as native as the celts.

I thought I would be able to watch this four part series because it was from Vice, a well known channel on KZread for making documentaries, so I thought it would be unbiased and fair, but it is far from it. I live in England and I am very proud to be British, but I also have Catholic family members living in Derry who have been massively affected by the troubles in Northern Ireland, with my Grandad being killed during the troubles in Strabane. I wanted to see both sides of the story but instead I saw this reporter participate in burning the Tricolour, I see him saying things like "they are all smoking weed, which is hilarious", I see stupid music being played over a riot to make it seem like something fun, and I see a completely one sided documentary focusing purely on the Protestant side of the story where the only time we see Catholics is rioting. I am not saying that the Catholic side is a better side because both sides do some stupid things at times, but this series really let me down and honestly, it is a disgrace at times. Parts of it will extremely informative and I appreciate that, but I would've thought Vice would have had a bit more common sense in how they presented all of this. And just to add, get your politics correct. You were Norther Ireland, therefore not in Great Britain, you were in the United Kingdom! And laughing because a petrol bomb has just gone off... really!?!

+Ryan Hutchings VICE's politics are very shady, they have weird subtle biases all over. On the surface, they mostly pander to a youthful + liberal mindset, but I've seen on more than one occasion many hints of mainstream elitist views and going with the overall global programs. Watch for some info, make your own decisions. And of course, point out (as you did with utmost care and appropriateness) that what you see on the surface is not all you get. (Btw, this comes from someone who has no connection whatsoever with any part of Ireland or Britain, I just have to agree with you that VICE often peddles BS.)

I disagree. It showed more of the Loyalist side but it didn't show them in a positive light necessarily. It showed them getting wasted, mooning the camera, having no idea what the history is. I could go on. It then showed the Nationalist protest with euphoric music over the top giving a sense that these people have been treated badly and this was their moment to express that, with someone explaining how the Loyalists are celebrating killing their "loved ones", ending with an articulate Nationalist explaining that it is the principle of the thing. I don't see this as bias towards the Loyalists at all.

The six counties in Northern Ireland are part of the sovereign state, United Kingdom, along with the countries of Great Britain. It was later reported by the patrol that the girl was part of a larger group involved in a riot against the army and police, but there was only two people there, Caroline and me. Is it any wonder people get caught up in violence when shown this sort of behaviour by adults who are supposed to be protecting them. Caroline Kelly, Rest in peace.

They were shouting "are you a taig?" and they both jumped me, one guy hit me 5 punches but I started laughing at them. I'm only 19, yet they're 25-30 and they couldn't do shit to me LOL. Anyway, here's the best part. They thought I was a catholic, yet I live in one of the most notorious protestant areas in Northern Ireland lol. Like I said, I'm an athiest. But all this violence is down to a bunch of uneducated wipeouts thinking one is better than the other. So much hate, and they're seperated by a few yards sometimes, only a wall blocking them. All I know is, Ireland is MUCH better than Belfast or anywhere else in Northern Ireland. I've only been to 2 places in Ireland, one being Dublin and it was great. Belfast is awful

KnownEpidemic There is some religious hatred, but it is all from the Unionist side and engineered by the British. They tell them the pope wants to rule them, what rubbish, the South has been free for almost 100 years and the pope does not rule their, Protestants, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, everyone has religious freedom there. But it all goes back to the propaganda-- the real Huns (the BRITS, Huns are really the BRITS not the Protestants who are just confused Irishmen) convinced the Prods that the Catholics are drooling pope worshippers so that they would have a native population fighting for the occupation of their own land. Look at Republican movement, it was founded by Theobald Wolfe Tones, a Protestant man, it's about the freedom of Ireland not killing or hurting Protestants.

This is journalism at it's worst. The America n commentator freely admits he knows nothing of the situation. This could just as easily be Detroit or Watts. Why he feels the need to resort to profanity to make a point escapes me. There is no analysis of objectivity in this piece.

James Urquhart no it couldn’t be Detroit or watts the rioting in Northern Ireland is much higher in intensity and happens much more often than anywhere in the western world it also remains the terrorist capital of Europe (it has the highest level of terrorist activity of anywhere in Europe mostly from the new IRA that’s according to mi5)
