@@matthewmartinez3774: Not a bad movie at all, after seeing it earlier, EQ3 has been made in a way that draws the series to a close and all the better for it. Die Hard 5 is a clear example where it could have been a lot better and I say EQ3 is a great example of a fictional character (Washington is no less than brilliant) finding solace after so much loss in life - gets my vote.

The most inspiring aspect of this film was that people as a supportive community could turn out to be more powerful than guns and thugs. Robert relied on his connection to the people who took him in to come out and have his back. THAT WAS AWESOME to see in this day and age, because it's becoming less reliable with everyone being so disconnected and addicted to the Matrix, my way of classifying social media.

Good point. These super duper spies always figure out how to achieve goals with the resources at hand - and here, he drew upon a community. He also drew upon the see aye Yay - he pulled the thread a little, and hten got them on the scent of the trail, confident that they could unravel it all. So, he used both the community and the see aye yay. Some reviews say the movie had slow points, but this was him laying the groundwork to help the town, once he figured out they needed the help. He needed help ,as well. If he came out with guns blazing too early, Enzo may have been targeted. And, he would just have been seen as a guy passing through who just brought trouble.

This is the first time I've seen a community of nobodies actually giving a damn about Robert McCall and going well out of their way to welcome and help him out of courtesy. In the previous two installments, he was the one doing people around him a favor and we never saw kindness by the community in reciprocity. So I totally understand him when he says Altamonte is where he's meant to be.

He is at peace, there is a potential love interest, and he has accepted that who he was and what he did, did not make him a lost cause or evil. He just used his tools as they were needed. @@matthewmartinez3774 The first two movies were almost nothing like this one when it comes to the violence. In this movie, it's not only glorified, but it's the point of the movie. The camera doesn't cut away like in the other movies, nothing happens off screen, there isn't a lot of darkness etc shrouding what happens. Even the angles when he attacks folks are different: it's right up on the action and the wounds are highlighted and shown in explicited detail (and there aren't really any environmental kills). The closest the first movies came to this was the final conflict in 2, where you see Denzel doing knife stuff, but the way it was captured was notably different from the kills in this film.

While certainly not free from those demons, I make a difference in a different way, and many demons cannot cross such a vast distance of water... Italy has peace in the smaller, towns, that require you work to stay alive, like Portugal. If you are willing to work, you can walk into a villa in Italy for 1 euro... it comes with great work, and a need to help.

Looper goes ahead and advertises a video claiming to explain the ending of this movie and gets stuck on the religious procession at the end. "Maybe it's this, or maybe it's this ..." After Robert is better halfway through the movie, he runs up a very, very, very long flight of stone stairs that deposits him outside a church. There, he finds Emma (Dakota Fanning) waiting for him. She shows him that she swapped out the Rome guide book for a more general one and tells Robert that the church behind her has a mural of the Virgin Mary rescuing an innocent man from being hanged, performing a kind of miracle. In that, Emma gives away the ending's meaning. The procession focuses on the Virgin Mary and the people of Altamonte. That's the key to the meaning of the ending. It's not like it has a lot of Jesus imagery, but a focus on Mary and everything she represents. The ending is about a miracle of the town being saved from the monstrous Vincent, and Robert's soul being saved by destroying the evil and renouncing his violent past with this one last act. It's a parallel event and pretty blatant if you were paying attention. Looper, I love your effort, but I have to ask: really??

Opinion: De-aging can be a hit or miss in most cases. Star Wars franchise applies it on iconic characters given the relevant, in-world time. The Equalizer can do one better, with the younger Washington to play McCall in a prequel movie. Tenet is enough proof of his ability, presence, and approach. As for the premise: It could display his development of his efficient combat, relevance in the DIA, or his doubts on his path. Your comments.

Did the narrator misspeak in the beginning? McCall starts out in Sicily, but that is not where the bulk of the movie is set. He leaves Sicily by boat and presumably goes to the Italian mainland living in a small costal village. The small village is not in Sicily from what I can tell. Did I get this wrong or did the announcer?

What makes anyone think this is the final chapter in the franchise? This last one is by far the best one yet and since the peace would could only be temporary, it gives the franchise more room for another installment, and it would be just as entertaining as this one. GO ROBERT MCCALL!!! 👏👍😊

I don't think there should be a 4th. Maybe prequels would be good. But this was a nice way for him to end. And kind of passing on his legacy. I mean the guy is 69 years old.

I needed to look up 'ending explained' as I felt they weaved 'Man On Fire' which starred both Washington and Fanning versus the intrigue of his special interest into Fanning's character with this 2023 flick.

Nothing was "weaved." She played little Pita in MOF, and Emma in TE3. His special interest in Emma is that she is the daughter of his dear friend who was murdered by the man he, unfortunately, only got to kill "once." Unless it's not clear to you, Man On Fire" has nothing to do with The Equalizer movies.

The guy was a passenger of his when he was driving for Lyft. Probably his passenger shared how he lost his pension and he wanted to help him retrieve his money. Following the money leads to discovering the drug operation and the rest follows.

Since the movie was just released and I haven't had the pleasure to watch it as of yet, thank you for ruining the movie for me. Also thank you for realizing that American's are so stupid that we need a play by play about Robert McCall's life and why he finds it necessary to be a do gooder. Jesus Christ I don't think we could have figured this out, thank you for your 2 cents! KZread has become so shitty with the way they handle content these day's, but I'm grateful you still have a job. Because damn what would people do without you!

Ho Hum … Prequels & Sequels are Hollywood’s way to squeeze blood from a stone. Instead of being creative and producing new interesting movies they just run previous good ideas into the ground. This trilogy held my attention and came to a good end. I hope they let it rest in peace.
