I always thought they were in some type of sexual/kink driven simulation but got caught in this constant chase/murder loop because they let their minds go too deep and temptations go too far

MacDoesIt I honestly didn’t expect to find you here, but I really like your point of view. Personally it seems like an abusive relationship, showing that both sides can be predatory but they will forever be stuck in the cycle of abuse if they’re left to their own devices.

God..... "The Witness" was my absolute favorite. They are stuck in a loop forever. This loop would stop if only they both stop and communicate with one another and stop assuming all the time. When do they realize the truth? Never because death represents a new mind. They die at the end each time... so they never understand. In relationships communication is important just as much as sex and lust. Toxic relationships never get fixed... because no one ever understand or listens to one another.

i also love the fact that everyone else is clearly aware that they're stuck in the loop, and sort of stays out of their way realizing they can't be helped, eheheh.
Ugh, that image of the witness in the window at the start, is so creepy.

"Relationships driven by lust are often difficult to end" was one of those 'lightbulb' moments for me. Having been involved in such same myself.
The nudity didn't bother me, I am a artist and actually like seeing these scenes to see how others draw bodies to improve my own. I also liked how real it felt with the reactions

the animation helped make it natural as well. the woman's body wasn't weirdly overly-sexualised and it was animated very well too.

Also i think you missed the attatchment theory of relationships in psychology, they literally are chasing each other after all. It does feel like it sometimes, like you always are the chaser, until you avoid someone you still kinda like or want but they keep pursuing you. And then you get the feeling like it's karma

thank you for the analysis.. the pure art of this episode already made it one of my favorites, but the meaning behind it and how everything is portrayed just elevates this episode so much further.
Nice job. You provided a very good take on the episode. It certainly is plausible.
That's a really good interpretation, you've nailed.

The real underlying message of the video
I think this doesn’t have to end in the same way killing eachother. Like u said and I also noticed, they could both come out of the club and spend night with eachother instead of killing because whoever the witness is, she/he has their partner sleeping on the bed while they are witnessing the murder of themselves on another building.
I don't know if you guys noticed, there was what seemed to be a ring inside the same drawer the gun was in.. Suggesting that Vladimir was a married man.
My Theory: They're both in a 2 player video game, hence the nonsensical street signs and 'bang' 'smash' effects the chase is part of the fun.
What I wonder is what the reverse story looks like, with the naked woman chasing the killer

this was a very good explanation, i have a new found respect for this episode as it used to be my least favorite in the series. Thank you for your video.
There is a trailer of Alberto Mielgo's new film supposedly coming this year where it shows the two main characters from this episode in the trailer and his new movie is called the windshield wiper not only that the movie takes place in the same setting as the witness
Wow, great video bro..🙌
You said the nudity makes the chase scene more real... but she was running in platform heels for so long without tripping or breaking them before she ever removed them. The nudity can't make that feel real.
@copyscastle
3 жыл бұрын
true but shes a sex worker she's probably used to dancing in heels all the time. ive seen strippers dancing and speed walking in heels bigger than that. granted they weren't running for their lives but women in this line of work (or women good at walking in heels) are good at walking and running in heels a lot of times for safety reasons because of their line of work. there's also this woman on tik tok who makes videos of her running super fast in heels, doing backflips etc its really cool if you think heels are a limitation for some.

You do realize that the character is a sex worker of some sort? She is also running for her life while only having on a robe. The story starts from her and the man (the killer) naked, in the same room hinting that they slept together, furthermore explaining her being half naked. He just explained the meaning of this episode, did you not understand or are you just mad there’s nudity? Like if sex isn’t everywhere already, this episode formed lust into visible art. Maybe you don’t fully understand it but it’s not as black and white as it seems to be to you.

I'm so sorry!
My theory is that this is the afterlife. A purgatory kind of afterlife. They both were lovers when they were alive and they shot each other to death mistakenly by some form of miscommunication. Both are dead the this purgatory afterlife is punishing them by putting them through something similar to what happened before they die. And unless they learn to communicate and clear things up, the cycle will never end and they won't find peace. It's like the afterlife is trying to teach them what they did wrong that lead them to their deaths. They can stop the cycle when they learn their lesson. Only then can they both finally find peace, forgive each other and move on to a more peaceful afterlife.
oh god its so good
I just watch this season and this story is a rip from an old ray Bradbury or twilight zone where a woman is raqed, as her husband drives her home from the hospital, she sees a man and identifies him as her attacker. The husband pulls over, follows the guy into a parking lot and strangled him. The husband continues to drive his wife home when she sees another man and says HE is her attacker.
The guy looks like professor in money heist

Short film!
Explanation: LSD is a loop like a LSD bad trip (Damn, Just remembering it gives me a chill) I am writing this for anyone who happens to be in that situation. I hope to help........ "If you're on a bad LSD trip and can't get out, you feel like you have to wait forever. look relax breathe. The only way to get out of the loop is to accept it, forgive yourself, forgive everything (accept it) and let yourself go if you feel that you are going to die or that you are already dead, then do not go against it, just accept it, DEATH accept it will not hurt you. It will teach you a lot. And when you realize it, you are out of the loop. because the moment you accept things as they are. You no longer have to wait, because you realize that where you are, you are very well."
Never enough nudity.

Nah. Because how is she going to go back to her strip club job after knowingly killing the guy. It makes no sense. I can't see the cycle actually repeating logically, it still has to follow some sort of dramatic character resolution. Not just a simple cycle. It would change. What we are watching is the first cycle that would repeat perhaps with the murders but the context flipping would change her action after the final beat a la something like groundhogs day. No way she just goes to work afraid after this. They are both gaining a minute amount of awareness or at least confusion as it goes.
