Excellent video about an iconic train. The HST's were the epitome of let the train take the strain. Great mix of locations Mike. Another piece of history captured on film. Well done 🤓

Good afternoon Colin I hope you are keeping well, I do need to watch your latest video. Thank you for commenting on my day following the the last public railtour with the XC HST set, it was great to get so many shots of it but I was disappointed I couldn't get to meet a friend who was going to pick me up and take me onto the Swanage Railway to get a shot of the HST on that line. All the trains were delayed due to a person being hit by a train so I told him to forget me and carry on. Thank you for watching what I did get, ATB Mike.

Yes Dave but it had to be done, I also got up the next morning to film the ECS to LA which was a good catch. Thank you for watching this sad day for the travelling public. Mike.

Never a day goes by I don't reflect on how blessed I was to drive these most iconic of trains for 20 years.

Yes lots of good days for you when you worked for that TOC, I enjoyed most of my day chasing this tour, I was disappointed that because of a person being hit by a train I didn't get my lift to the Swanage Railway to film the HST on that line.

Oh right. Why is it other countries want them but our shower of shit what to get rid of them.

What can i say Mike, end of an era for the HST, most comfortable of trains, shurley a bit more life in them yet, great filming of an iconic loco Steve .

Steve I believe there is loads of life left in them, its the DfT who have made the decision to stop them on cost, so there share holds can make more money. Cheers Mike.

Great video there Mike! I was on-board and it was a fantastic day out. We may have stood next to each other at Wareham as I got a similar angle for a photo to your clips!

Oh really Andrew, I don't know one day when there are just the two of us on a station we must speak to each other. I have seen footage from on the train and it sounded like a great atmosphere on there, pleased you enjoyed your day, Mike.

Yes I wanted to capture them at speed, my first plan was to get them at Basingstoke but they would have been going slow and I want to have 43007 on the front so Banbury was a good choice I think James. ATB Mike.
