The XC HST Farewell Tour on 26/09/2023
Hello and welcome to MCT Trains 🚂 This weeks video is a tribute and footage I've taken over the last year of service of the XC HST's, right up until the final week of service. These iconic loco's have been a fantastic servant to the UK network and I'm really sad to see them go 😞
From 1982 - 2023 they have been the backbone of cross country travel here in the UK and its safe to say they will be remembered in UK Railway history for ever more 👍

I was fairly east this time with the route to cover several passes. Shame most were slow but glad I got to see them one last time 👍🏻

Brilliant shots and pictures aswell as some lovely tones! Such a shame these are gone.. at least we still have GWRs HSTs still I guess... I have to ask - did you film that 66 in Eastleigh? Also, any idea where these HSTs are at the moment? Great video as always, sorry for being so late to it!!

Glad you enjoyed it, no I didn’t hang About to film the 66 on the car train, there’s 5 or 6 of them a day through there so can get them at any time. I had to dash off to get the next shot at airport parkway.. they are down at Laira Depot in Plymouth awaiting a storage move 👍🏻

@@mcttrains ah right, ok fair enough. If they were on a rare move would you have stuck around to see it? Oh okay, is Laira Depot visible from a station/road etc..? 😉
