We all know the the Elektron Digitakt is absurdly good... but it also makes it incredibly easy to experiment with your music: choose 1 parameter you want to focus on with the intention of "exploiting" it, and then just see what happens! I chose panning for this video, and kind of forgot that that was my goal. I ended up with something pretty unique and fun that I never would have stumbled upon otherwise.

You seem to be the only one making consistent digitakt/DIGITONE content these days and I greatly appreciate that. Keep the awesome elektron box content coming!

Thanks so much!! I’ve been taking a bit of a break from them recently but I know they deserve a bit more love, soon enough!
Hey! Thanks for making my tools more fun, expressive, to be inspired by, content. My digitakt is smiling ear to ear, excited to be played. This is an ad for, giving musical instruments spirits-

@@SlowHaste You're welcome 🙂 I'm comparing between the Syntakt, Octatrack and Digitakt... Was also the Machines drum too but no longer available new etc... Maybe the one I'll get later is one that's yet to be released, but I do like the look of the Elektron workflow and the depth of the step trigs etc
Great pattern and inspiring to follow you creating it! ;-)

I enjoy the rushed approach as well. I typically just have like 30 minutes or so and dont wanna fuss too much. Always satisfying with the DT and DN.

Yes exactly!! All in all, this was 26 minutes of filming before the edit, so a quick session fun-ly spent :)
Nice! What was the key combo at 10:43 that allowed you to begin record when you play the first note?

Thanks!! So I’m not actually sure what happened there, but I remember that first trig being a mistake that I kept cause I enjoyed it. I think I accidentally laid it down when I thought I was on another track? And ended up editing out the clip of the video including that. That’s my best guess for now lol

@@SlowHaste good to know! I’m considering to buy one , I have an octatrack but keep running out of tracks for samples after master and thru tracks !
This sounds really cool but I find it very hard to use. How long did it take you to learn to use it? (I don't own one, only thinking of it)
@SlowHaste

There definitely was a slight learning curve, especially if you’re new to sequencers. It’s helpful to read through the manual a little bit before starting to play with it, and then consulting the manual whenever you hit a block or encounter something you’re not sure how to do! I also offer lessons if you end up with one and wanted any assistance :)
i bought an mpc one hoping to use it mostly for pretty straight forward drums and i hate it. well hate it a strong word there, but i'm not getting along with it at all, resulting in me hardly using it. Thinking of getting a digitakt because i lean into experimentation and really enjoy stumbling on happy accidents. Is the digitakt really as complex to learn as people say it is? you're pretty proficient with it.....did your knowledge of the digitakt come from just playing with it and having a good time? or did you have to sit down and read a manual and watch tutorials to figure out basic functions.

It definitely takes work! But if you’re familiar with sequencers and are ok with spending a couple of hours learning the interface, I don’t think you’ll have an issue :)
Punch the camera again, it had it coming.

to me it just sounds like bleeps and farts, can it create a lusher richer sound?

Absolutely. It’s a sampler, so it can play back any sample you put into it. This was an exploration of a more experimental workflow
what makes a man think that putting the text "ABSURDLY FUN" above a digitakt would be a good idea?
