i like how it sound the only issue for me is the lack of a proper filter it only has one mode low pass filter....
Patch 2 is precisely what makes this synth a knockout for me, personally. It sounds like it came from a vintage, boutique synthesizer, but instead it's this (lovable) little bean! This synth is an absolute sleeper, imho
Getting a 2?
No plans to as of now!
Just here to thank you for 07:15
@@netenute hahah, glad someone noticed that !
I’ve always wanted to buy one of these: OP-1 Field, Digitone, Digitakt but I just can’t decide which would be more useful for me. I’ll probably wait a couple of months to see if there will be a Digitone 2 released.
9:06 beautiful harmony! Sometimes I feel limited by 4 voices but this shows there's no excuse haha
the reeling by passion pit was brought to mind
So it seems this unit can be used as a synth keyboard not just for making beats? I don’t know much about these types of units but would like to learn more
dude! show us how you did that harmonium patch. I copied the knob positions but did not get the sound that you're playing at all. I LOVE harmonium sounds
Hi friend, I have a question. I have a Digitakt and I want to buy a Digitone, but I want to know if using the Digitakt song mode the Digitone is synchronized, can the two machines work with the same song mode, using the Digitakt as the main brain? Thanks for your time👊
He bought 20 more models a a week later 😂
@@Mikewood-qq6hq lol nope, I’ve been clean ever since!
We need you to have a Digitakt ii how can we help?
@@el_dani hahah thanks! That’s a great question
Can you tempo synch LFO 2? Or the envelopes?
HELP: When I select EDIT MODE the MULTI ENGINE page comes on BUT I don't see the "NOISE 1" feature? All I see is MULI ENGINE and the USB icon at the bottom left. I've already reset the Factory Reset. Also, the sound your playing on NOISE 1 function is found nowhere. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help. Did you create a preset and thats why it shows up on yours?
I own the same tool and love your take on how to approach. Tasteful and well done Sir.
@@TheJohnniegolden thank you!!
5:14 Redo feature for the OP-1
I much, much prefer the deeper singular synth engines of the digitone and analog 4 (and kind of the octatrack if you count deep sampling ability) over the more simple machine based synth engines. It just feels so much more flexible and dynamic, I love being able to create a snare patch and then completely change it to some other crazy percussive sound with param-locks within just one pattern. You can’t just go anywhere from where you are in a machine based workflow.
is there a way to clear recorded automation on track instead of doing it one by one?
Love this track, is it released anywhere? Just found your channel and really enjoying these digitone/digitrack videos, subscribed.
@@richnosworthy2497 thanks a ton! It hasn’t been released yet, but I polished it up in Logic and it’s on deck for my next album :)
I have a novation mini key controller can I hook it up to these two?
Change your voice to a new preset, I hate the way you talk
Lifting to have an "undo" option is genius.
Dees beats yummy snipe
Initial track has real Dntel vibe, sounds dope.
Thanks! The finished track is called "Maria" on steaming :)
Oh yeah, what a great pedal for writing toe tapper songs! Jk. This is a ridiculous toy. With very few applications for real song writing. And there will be no famous songs featuring a thermae because it is too niche and weird
Great video ! Thanks :-)
Thanks! I think Thermae would sound fantastic paired with your motor synth 😎
I want an octatrack so damn bad. No way I can afford it lol.
Im planning to go into euro but I feel confident about it. I want more tools to craft specific instruments.
Bro there's nothing intuitive about saving the samples... "assign to self, assign to free flex, assign to free static..." yeah really intuitive.
I don't need to press play to hear the sample playing through the octatrack.
I went the easy route and bought a Mother 32 and DFAM. I have an extra 60 HP Moog case, but it’s empty. I use it with my Subsequent 37 and Digitakt.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! Thanks for the walkthrough.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much Daniel!! Bought yesterday a Digitone to add to my DT + Keystep 37. After your videos, i'm convinced is the best combo ever.
Thanks for making this! Super helpful.
Glad I could help!
Thanks 😊 really helped break down whats samplers are!
Hi. I'm Andy, and I suffer from GAS.
良いサウンドですね👍
Can i edit on Blackbox the Single tracks from Digitakt, syntakt etc. Or is it one file in Blackbox Thanks for answering and sorry for my Bad Englisch
You can record each individual input to an SD card and it will save as a separate .wav file!
dude I just got my digitakt (OG) today and was alread huffing and puffing at how to use this thing and you are a life saver today! can't wait to watch more of your videos.
So stoked for ya! Glad the videos are helpful :)
Late to the party but this track is BANANAS!! Like, 🔥🔥🔥! Subbed!!
So glad you’re into it, thanks for the sub!
My biggest synth is Arturia PolyBrute. And I'm not even using it. So far...
A candle at day beside a digitone... ok... 😅
in the middle of August, nonetheless lollll. (real reason: I always use clips of these vids for short-form social media. So I do a little set-dressing, as those platforms are more visually focused!)
@@SlowHaste i enjoyed ur video! Thanks 🤗
Thank you very much for these wisdom pearls! I love the idea of panning on the digitakt, but as I'm someone who tends to play live in fairly DIY spaces, I can't guarantee that there will be enough DIs for me to go in stereo (as I usually play with several other musicians and DIs are in demand!) . As the L out isn't set up to be a default mono out, is there a way to change this? As I wouldn't want to programme a load of panning and then find out I can only use the left channel, which isn't the whole mix. Thank you again!
I would have to consult the manual to confirm that, but another solution would be to save a copy of the project/pattern with neutral panning. That way you’d have a backup copy just in case you’re able to run stereo!
@@SlowHaste Good point, thank you!
This is so inspiring. And I was surprised to see you weren’t even midi syncing. Thanks so much for posting this
Thanks! It’s surprising how much you can get away with just using tap tempo (at least in a studio setting)
it's worth noting that Michael Jackson was not an instrumentalist but he was able to arrange songs in his mind and tell the studio players exactly what to play. That was his process and no one can claim that he wasn't a creative genius. Do you man!
imo if you stack 7 loops together and tweak them to suit your taste and the result is something no one has ever heard before, then it belongs to you. tons of old school guys sampled chords because they couldn't play them themselves and they faced the same criticisms. i kinda feel like the distinction between a single chord hit and a 1 bar progression is totally arbitrary. at the end of the day you're assembling things that suit your taste.
I totally agree about the chord thing! So many chord progressions are recycled to death, but the originality of songs using them are never questioned
I know this video is a little old now, but I noticed your Bluebox and would be curious to know how you like it and if you’re still using it. I got a TX-6 but am thinking the Bluebox might be better for my use case.
Yo! I still have & love the Bluebox. It’s small & portable & easy to set & forget. I really quite enjoy it
@@SlowHastethanks so much!
so it's diGGital? New type of synth? Seriously?
Seriously
Great video. The only problem for me is that I'm about 20 steps behind what you're doing and can't keep up. Yeah - I know - that's my problem and not yours! 😁
Hahah, thanks for watching!
