Soft maandazi / Mandazi, is a form of fried bread that originated on the Swahili Coast. It is also known as bofrot or puff puff in Western African countries such as Ghana and Nigeria. It is one of the principal dishes in the cuisine of the Swahili people who inhabit the Coastal Region of Kenya and Tanzania.
As to whether there is a difference between mandazis and mahamris, the major difference is that mahamris use plain flour and yeast while mandazis use self raising flour and no yeast (at least that is the difference in Kenya). Bring all ingredients to room temperature before mixing them together.

Thank you. I used the STANDARD measuring cup. They all measure the same world wide. A cup of flour measures about 120-125grams.

It goes without saying, water means room temp/ tap water. If i used hot water I'd definitely say/ mention HOT WATER. If i used ice cold water, I'd definitely mention ICE COLD WATER. What makes you think I'd use hot water then just say water?
