i knew this even before i was a animation student. all you need is logic. No matter how much the budget ,ultimately the result will the determined by the amount of hardwork, skill & time taken by the studio and its animators. I fail to understand why people dont understand this. you can have 5 million dollars budget for 1 episode, You are given the best software and tools in the world but only have 2 weeks to complete it, the result wont be Insane.

this is something so logical that it always bothers me when i see people misunderstanding it. the same can be said for video games development. The cost of making a game is directly related to how many developers are working on it and for how long.

It’s quite simple logic when you think about it. If you hire a lot of talented people and give them time to show their talent, they’ll give you something of quality. It’s like having a world class chef make a meal. You can’t just give them only 5 minutes, they probably need at least an hour or more.

There's a lot more vibrant colors used in general for the characters that really help them feel more alive, ESPECIALLY skin tone. It's really evident comparing the choices made for characters like Zoro during the Fishman Island adaptation (2012) and comparing it to now.

The anime sequences are a spectacle to look at for sure! But what happened to dynamic fight sequences with dodging, fast movements, and quick punches? like Lucci vs luffy. Now I wait for luffy to get a running head start, charge up the punch, fly a bit, add some petals, then watch kaido just stand there and wait for it lol They're fighting like pokemon sometimes, just taking turns hitting each other with their best attack. Not the animators faults, but the directors I guess cuz the pacing of these battles is incredibly slow.

  • @nichescenes

Yeah, people on average don't care though, they just want the hype and to say peak piece and all the flashy animation and unnecessary frames make them think its better than the old days. I found JJK's fight against the season 1 curse in episode 17 or 18 much more exciting than a lot of the flashy one piece fights as of late. Hand to hand mixed with cool powers and pacing so I don't have to watch the same fight for 20 eps. But somehow I'm told jjk is trash and slow and not living up to the hype and is overrated and one piece is peak all the while a fraction of the fanbase didn't really like wano as much. Personally think it was cool just a bit pissy about people who hype one piece and act like all other shonen are generic trash...guess I make the slice of life and philosophical anime lovers get to me somewhat lol...the type to claim seinin is real story telling and shōnen is for kids. Funny enough the stuff in shonen in America would get a R rating in theaters (see demon slayer movie).

But i feel like budget involves time as you give them you give them more money which relates with budget. Also getting good talent would probably involves more budget as theirs skills are more expensive than newcomers. just an assumption i could be wrong i learnt through gintama in some behind the scenes anime production as they seem to know what they are talking about

I mean it feels like they just want to put as much animation and color changes in a frame as possible until you cant even see whats going on anymore, especially the fight scenes, like the animators don't trust the viewers to recognize the might and power behind those punches if they don't animate the sh*t out of it. Real question = Why it took so long.. . Still, Wano arc was like Endgame. Finally a conclusion to the Wano arc built up since Punk Hazard. It’s still a little lacklustre such as the LONG second half of Wano. Whereas Marineford was the Infinity War…

I liked the animation style before the wano arc. Now its just a colourfull + bright light animation , but keep animation style in fight scenes ...

Wano surprises me every week with a new style of animation eventhough the episodes themselves may be fillers it's still so much fun to watch!

Since the start of Wano there have only been 5 episodes of filler. Your comment makes it sound like many of the episodes were filler which seems wrong?

@@kefkapalazzo1 that's not filler, that's just bad pacing , it's happening for the sake of NOT getting filler episodes. Bleach and Naruto have like 50% of their episodes being filler to avoid the pacing problem, while one piece went with the slow pace approach. Both have their pros and cons, but in my opinion, the approach of naruto ( having a million fillers and good pacing) is better than the approach of one piece ( no fillers and terrible pacing) just for the sake of the people who decide to start the anime late.. like right now. If someone wants to start naruto right now, they start it , they skip all fillers and it's a good experience. While for one piece, the experience will be worse for post-time skip arcs cus they are SOOOO slow and dragged out. In dressrosa we got to see rebecca's back story and her mother dying.. 8 times!!! So it's actually very wrong to call it.. a filler becouse it's basically the alternative of it in order to NOT get filler. What you call filler is the reason why we don't get fillers in one piece.. it's just, wrong. It's called "Bad pacing".

The simplest art style the faster the animation will be finished. Damn, imagine if MAPPA gets a chance to animate at least one movie from One Piece.

What makes me wonder, what does the previous director think about all this? One Piece bad animation became a Meme because of how horrible the pacing and animation was.

I'm confused. I agree that money isn't everything... But better allocation of budget allowed to hire those talents no? They didn't appear out of nowhere and by chance? Without money you can't hire all the talents you want, and you can't have multiple teams working in parallel speeding the process. That's my understanding from somebody that just watches
