It’s quite simple logic when you think about it. If you hire a lot of talented people and give them time to show their talent, they’ll give you something of quality. It’s like having a world class chef make a meal. You can’t just give them only 5 minutes, they probably need at least an hour or more.

glad to finally put a name to the work behind the character designs for wano. There's a lot more vibrant colors used in general for the characters that really help them feel more alive, ESPECIALLY skin tone. i already thought that they chosed to hire more animators for the episodes, when i noticed the diffrent artstyles in some scenes. Like the fight where Robin fights the snake lady, the characters bodies and ehhh booba where way more detailed than in some random running scenes from Nami and the others. Also later, one of the "small" german artists i follow announced, that he had the honor to animate the fighting scene of Zorro and a little animation of crying Chopper and i felt soooo happy for him!!
@christianfrayser5653 Жыл бұрын
The anime sequences are a spectacle to look at for sure! But what happened to dynamic fight sequences with dodging, fast movements, and quick punches? like Lucci vs luffy. Now I wait for luffy to get a running head start, charge up the punch, fly a bit, add some petals, then watch kaido just stand there and wait for it lol They're fighting like pokemon sometimes, just taking turns hitting each other with their best attack. Not the animators faults, but the directors I guess cuz the pacing of these battles is incredibly slow.

Yeah, people on average don't care though, they just want the hype and to say peak piece and all the flashy animation and unnecessary frames make them think its better than the old days. I found JJK's fight against the season 1 curse in episode 17 or 18 much more exciting than a lot of the flashy one piece fights as of late. Hand to hand mixed with cool powers and pacing so I don't have to watch the same fight for 20 eps. But somehow I'm told jjk is trash and slow and not living up to the hype and is overrated and one piece is peak all the while a fraction of the fanbase didn't really like wano as much. Personally think it was cool just a bit pissy about people who hype one piece and act like all other shonen are generic trash...guess I make the slice of life and philosophical anime lovers get to me somewhat lol...the type to claim seinin is real story telling and shōnen is for kids. Funny enough the stuff in shonen in America would get a R rating in theaters (see demon slayer movie).

@@kefkapalazzo1 that's not filler, that's just bad pacing , it's happening for the sake of NOT getting filler episodes. Bleach and Naruto have like 50% of their episodes being filler to avoid the pacing problem, while one piece went with the slow pace approach. Both have their pros and cons, but in my opinion, the approach of naruto ( having a million fillers and good pacing) is better than the approach of one piece ( no fillers and terrible pacing) just for the sake of the people who decide to start the anime late.. like right now. If someone wants to start naruto right now, they start it , they skip all fillers and it's a good experience. While for one piece, the experience will be worse for post-time skip arcs cus they are SOOOO slow and dragged out. In dressrosa we got to see rebecca's back story and her mother dying.. 8 times!!! So it's actually very wrong to call it.. a filler becouse it's basically the alternative of it in order to NOT get filler. It’s quite simple logic when you think about it. If you hire a lot of talented people and give them time to show their talent, they’ll give you something of quality. It’s like having a world class chef make a meal. You can’t just give them only 5 minutes, they probably need at least an hour or more.

Dude thank you i love this educational/informational content regarding how greatly animated episodes come to be and just the workflow and process behind each episode and the amount of directing involved. I had no idea about this, and really thought that the problem was just not enough budget. seriously thanks for this content, I'm loving it.
From childhood until now I’ve never understood how one episode can take over half a year to make and yet we get episodes every single week.

glad to finally put a name to the work behind the character designs for wano. There's a lot more vibrant colors used in general for the characters that really help them feel more alive, ESPECIALLY skin tone. It's really evident comparing the choices made for characters like Zoro during the Fishman Island adaptation (2012) and comparing it to now.
2:30 Scene here is from episode 1017
After watching wano and then going back dressrossa the difference is mind blowing

yeah i am also in the middle of wano but i am progressing very slowly cause the pacing is just the worst i have seen in any series ever since dressrosa. Dragonballs horrible pacing is nothing compared to this shit.
Imagine if this is the quality of the Anime in the Wano Arc, how great it will be during the final saga and other major moments later in the series, can't help but get more and more excited just imagining it!
They got a friggin Disney animator in one episode of the anime. That’s incredible!
the animation of this arc is so cleeeaaan especially aftet whole cake island i wished this arc was given the same treatment
Glad more people are realizing that an Anime's Budget is not what completely defines a series of quality.
i already thought that they chosed to hire more animators for the episodes, when i noticed the diffrent artstyles in some scenes.

Still probably was a much higher budget than other arcs. I saw in another youtube vid that Wano was also the 20 year anniversary arc, so they worked extra hard to make it special. Of course the budget also needs to be allocated properly, not just throwing it somewhere and wasting it.

yeah that is true, i feel like budget is very broad. I always assume it is budget becsuse gintama tends to explain its overuse of still frame as the show having budget problem they even explained the final season suffering from budget. But i feel like budget involves time as you give them you give them more money which relates with budget. Also getting good talent would probably involves more budget as theirs skills are more expensive than newcomers. just an assumption i could be wrong i learnt through gintama in some behind the scenes anime production as they seem to know what they are talking about
might have been the longest 6 minutes of my life, but a pleasent 6 minutes
is it animation quality or just very bright lights and vibrant bold colors
so the way the team is managed can have a huge impact on quality essentially.

thanks, yeah i know ,my editor got the names wrong in this video, although it's not his fault it's mine for not reviewing any mistakes
Maybe the increasingly slower pacing with more and more reused animations also helped 🤣
Its true that the animation level has increased, but I still hate it a bit when its "too 3d" and too "computerish" especially on some turn arounds that they did a lot in wano. So even though this is peak, I still miss the old school animation of the Dawn and I hope they can kinda bring it back or tribute it when the show is near the closure.
sure budget but have yall seen the lineup o people working on it? especially for the kaido fight its basically a whos who of the best top named animators and storyboarders around right now
imagine seeing luffy gear 5 in gear 4 animation, how beautiful it would be
the quality dide RISE?? what? besides of the new outro everything looks like 1999
whos also watching this anime when one piece animation quality rised even more?
toei recent animation + onepace is the best
Now, the only issue left is the purposefully slow pacing...
What was that song at 1:12 it sounds so familiar
Hope they won't revert to old animation after wano
Now if they could also just fix the absolutely horrible pacing issues, I would once again be able to watch entire One Piece episodes without being mildly annoyed every other minute and have a smile on my face for the entirety of it
Budget = capacity to give time + ressources to get talent 🤷♂️
Before I watch the video, I just want to say that some people firget that scheduling, experience, and time management is so important. Some times budget doesnt even matter.
It's not consistent tho... Wano is filled with the overuse of the blur effect to the point you get dizzy in Act 1 before they toned it down, it did feel like they changed the animation team quite a bit and it's a matter of time. One piece tho will always have the "long running weekly" animation syndrome despite this change
But my b-b-budget..🤣
I believed in One Piece and i'll never stop, this is all like a dream come true! Haters can chortle on deez nuts, this is the best story of our era.
for me the water 7 and enies lobby arc anime style was by far the best style any anime could have
Based Music
A Good Managment saves money and time equals more time for Animation
Money can't make animation better on it's own. Hard work and time make great animation. The money just lets the animators pay the bills and focus on work. And of course, money is a great motivator.
Wait... So you're telling me that locking my animators in dungeons, understaffing them, giving them over 50 projects to work on at once, and expecting results by Wednesday isn't going to lead to high quality content!? Ok, but what if I just throw a bunch more money at them! That won't work either!? I need to call the rest of the higher ups at Disney.
wait until bro sees gear 5 💀
Noobs do/will not understand this simple point. Great video.
i knew this even before i was a animation student. all you need is logic. No matter how much the budget ,ultimately the result will the determined by the amount of hardwork, skill & time taken by the studio and its animators. I fail to understand why people dont understand this. you can have 5 million dollars budget for 1 episode, You are given the best software and tools in the world but only have 2 weeks to complete it, the result wont be Insane.

@akhsdenlew1861
7 ай бұрын
What you call filler is the reason why we don't get fillers in one piece.. it's just, wrong. It's called "Bad pacing".

Yes it is not because budget because you know time = free = no cost so the longer something takes = cheaper it gets?????? Also more staff = free? honestly this video has great deal amount of cope in it.
get a pop filter twin
So its not budget that makes the animation quality so high, its that they've been able to get tons of top-of-their-field animators to be working on the anime all the time. I wonder how they afford all those animators though 🤔
Disagree with the notion that budget has nothing to do with it, time is money, and hiring and training talented individuals is costly. Sure like you said the most important thing is time and talent, but those things don't come cheap.

Unpopular opinion: Anyone besides me whos not a fan of this new animations? I mean it feels like they just want to put as much animation and color changes in a frame as possible until you cant even see whats going on anymore, especially the fight scenes, like the animators don't trust the viewers to recognize the might and power behind those punches if they don't animate the sh*t out of it. I´d love to have whole cake island animations back, or even water 7. those fights against katakuri or lucci are still top tier
