Well Warner Brothers was never good at making decisions.

3:18 GodzillaMendoza summed it up best when he said that Superhero games are in a weird state. They release a cinematic teaser trailer thats basically the companies going “hey look at this IP we spent a lot of money on!” Then we hear little to no news or updates on the games development until a year or so later with another trailer that shows actual gameplay. Then all the advertisements and commercials are shown six months before the game is actually released. Then the game comes out, people play it and it’s agreed upon that it’s a pretty a big, long, massive, 6/10 at best. Then we hear stories about how the game was actually a pain to develop with so many issues to go through and there was actually more content that ended up getting cut to meet a tight deadline. Rinse and repeat.

Heh you superhero fans are saddening because that's just how the gaming industry & advertisement is for a while with the beginning of the eighth gen of gaming the it happen with nearly every AAA game you guys feel it late because initially when superhero games started to be popular with the release of Batman Arkham Asylum till Marvel's Spiderman in 2018 they didn't have any of these problems. But it's okay you'll endure it as we gamers endure and eventually will get a good game.

DC isn't even fighting at this point. But marvel needs to calm the f*ck with announcing games that have barely started development.

There's so much potential for games having inspiration from dc comics. We could've gotten a proper Superman game, a game that feels like a true flash game, an M rated Dark justice league game, a game where you can explore the galaxy as greenlantern, an amazing justice league game, and a Static Shock game with vibrant and beautiful animation. It sucks that WB has a terrible job nit doing anything with these characters. They're sitting on a gigantic goldmine and yet they terrible stiff like continuing Velma, and making Sucide Squad Kill the justice league worse and worse as time goes on. They truly own the phrase" WB hates money."

I mean, how do you even create a game with a superhero who can fly and hit at supersonic speeds and react faster than you blinking? How do you decide how to scale his powers without making him OP to explain away why he can't just punch through each and every building? That's the same reason why a Flash game will also maybe never happen. Unless they decide to only use his super speed in limited, short bursts even though it won't make much sense as to why he won't use his superpower more often. Arkham series, the Spiderman series, and the Wolverine tie in games only worked because they played into the limitations of their characters' superpowers. Batman doesn't have superpowers, so he has these gadgets that make gameplay fun. He can't beat everyone with one punch, so it makes the combat system fun. He can't fly, so his grapnel gun, gliding, and batmobile make traveling around Gotham fun.

Especially since we’re even getting a Wonder Woman game, what’s the issue with Superman? Why do all of his attacks have to be ”blow up planet or city” when characters like Goku don’t? How can we have games that star Sonic and Mario, who survive and battle universal or galaxy level battles, but Superman can’t have a game? Same goes for The Flash. Or Green Lantern. All these characters can be playable in games. Developers usually lack the creativity or intrigue in making such characters

​@@badman_iiixiii there is a way to use all Kryptonian powers in a Superman game. Make it a "training heroes" thing. Superman goes around Metropolis to stop villains, give players a choice of what to use at a given moment like DC Legends used to for everyone and have it take awhile before something more impressive can be used again. I.E. can't always use invulnerability because that borders on being a super-pain sometimes.

A Batman Beyond game would be so sick and awesome. Like seriously, no one would complain about another Batman game if we get to play the handsome and charming Terry McGinnis. The kid had so potential to be in the Arkham universe with his own game. He can even be facing off against Red hood, or proven himself to the Bat family that he is worthy to be the new Batman. I will never know why it is so hard to start making a Batman Beyond game when the Arkham game had already lay down the template of how to made one.

I think Princess Weekes put it best in her "What Went Wrong? Analyzing the DCEU's flop sequels" video: "You have some of the greatest comic book characters of all time- some of the greatest comic book characters that have ever existed ever. And they have wasted opportunities, every single turn... it's like seeing my very best friends dating losers. Over and over again."

Who remembers Justice League Heroes on ps2/psp. Man I loved that game so much, and I wish we could get a modern take on it. We need a proper Justice League game like that, it was fantastic fr.

Considering the lore of the Arkham series, this Shadows game likely takes place in between Origins and Asylum, since in City it’s stated that Penguin killed Ratcatcher. But who knows, the only way they can really come out of this is by pretending Suicide Squad never existed and make a sequel to Knight, aka, Batman Beyond or maybe a proper Batman Family game.

Doesn’t mean AK’s writing is bad though. I can give arguments for why it’s a near perfect conclusion for Arkham Batman. The way I see it, AK and KTJL have a bit of a Frank Miller effect like how he wrote TDKR which is good and All Star Batman and Robin which is bad.

It makes me sad we haven’t gotten another dc game in a very long time that’s good.

We should’ve had a Flash game years ago when the tv show was at its peak.

You know it really sucks how MultiVersus, a free to play fighting game that crosses over Warner Bros properties, gives more respect to DC, then the current DC games!

We better pray that James Gunn can pull a Kraven's Last Hunt and crawl DC out of it's grave.

Also, for all that amazing stuff you mentioned (which I will admit I'm excited for) we've had stuff like SS:KTJL and we've had no news on the WW or WAU2 either which is a little hype killing honestly.

​@@TheN1ghtwalkerI think the reason why the suicide squad failed financially because it was a suicide squad IP and at point of time, the suicide squad was looked at like a black sheep of superhero teams due to the prior suicide squad movie that was released in 2016. So the IP's reputation was tarnished before the 2021 film came out. The general audience doesn't really care for the suicide squad anyways. Remember james gunn made the guardians of the Galaxy trilogy which were all financially successful and critically acclaimed movies as well.

You also have to take into account what James Gunn said about DC games being connected to the DCU.

I can believe that Hill was responsible for the bad story and delay issues, but I think them trying to pass the whole enchilada on him is kinda crazy. There is no way he was the one who decided to do a suicide squad game nor was he the one who decided to make it live service or even a shooter. We all know those decisions came from the top, even if he was the one who presented it to his team.

They should have included Origins in the return to Arkham collection, but for some reason WB wants to forget that game ever existed. Which is why I doubt an Origins remake/remaster is in the works because clearly WB hates that game for some reason.

Literally just drop a god of war or dark souls clone for Wonder Woman and call it a day smh

I just watched Asmongold clips about how SS KTJL practically killed rock steady and how they have no other stuff ready or in development. Also I know some folks are gonna say im out of pocket fir saying this but we don't need cut scenes in video games. Just have the scene occur as we play it keep us engaged with the game instead of putting the controller down to watch a 3 to 5 min cut scenes. Lastly I thought we all collectively agree WB is allergic to money, plus Batman is a popular character so why would they switch to other characters.

They had a very short run relatively speaking. Basically the Arkham trilogy and shadow of Mordor (which only added the nemesis system) were it. It’s too bad because those two series felt like the start of something really good.

Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War were made by Monolith Productions. Rocksteady had nothing to do with those games. Which means their run was even shorter. Since opening up in 2004, they made Riot Response, the Arkham games, and Suicide Squad. If you include Batman VR, that’s only six games in the last 20 years.

I’d be very surprised if Rocksteady doesn’t get shut down or be hit with massive layoffs. 200 million dollars Is a lot of money, that won’t go unpunished… for the actual developers, not the higher ups that made the decision to chase trends. I’m kinda done with big companies making games especially if they are gonna turn out slop like kill the justice league. And to think I was excited for it at one point, and Gotham knights too. I wanted to play that with my pals but nope, just another live service looter shooter that gonna get shut down in like 6 months. Shit is so tilting. And I’m not even a big DC person. While I respect her new relationship with Poison Ivy, it has unfortunately stagnated Ivy because she's now just Harley's chloropath girlfriend now and nothing else and Harley apparently is now a world ending threat in the comics now?!?!?!? Not to mention how her vocal performance has been like recently. No disrespect to Tara Strong (whatever she says about the Middle East should have been her business and not everybody else's) but I hate her Harley voice. Yeah, it's hard being a DC fan these days with how Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad turn out. I miss the Batman Arkham and Injustice days too, that was the best time to be a DC fan.

I think something that’s helping keep Marvel games more interesting right now is they actually let heroes other than Spider-Man take the spotlight. I mean even with that Wonder Woman game, unless they’re related to Batman or the Suicide Squad, DC regularly just kicks their other characters to the curb like they’re trash (don’t believe me people, how about the fact that once we get to Gunn’s movie in 2025, it’ll have been 12 freaking years since we got the last live action Superman movie!), meanwhile with Marvel, aside from the Insomniac games, we’ve had an Avengers game (even if it crashed and burned), the third game in a series all about the whole Marvel universe in Ultimate Alliance 3, Iron Man VR , and (hopefully) later on we’re gonna get new games for Wolverine, Iron Man, Blade, Black Panther (even if it might not be T’Challa because apparently Marvel thinks a way to honor Chadwick is to just freaking erase the character for a while (I get it with the MCU but for everything Marvel? Really?)), and Captain America and another Black Panther, Marvel seems to remember they’ve got characters people like that aren’t just Spider-Man or related to him and let them take the spotlight for a bit while DC has this obsession with Batman, Harley Quinn, and the Suicide Squad and sometimes just refuse to give other characters like Superman and Flash the time of day outside of comics and I’m hoping to God that Gunn fixes this issue

Between the films and the video games, I'm still trying to figure out why Warner Brothers seems to really hate Batman Beyond? I'm not even the biggest fan of Batman beyond, but especially if it was done well. The nostalgia alone from Millennials where children that are now consumer adults now would be massive. Especially if you did smart shit like oh I don't know have Michael Keaton play old Batman and things like that would have been a smarter use for him than whatever the fuck they did in The Flash movie.

Same with the animation. Say what you will about What If but with that, its spin off Marvel Zombies, X-Men 97 and that Spider-Man Freshman Year series, I’m just so happy to see Marvel finally give a shit with their animation stuff after a decade of subpar shows like Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, Hulk: Agents of SMASH, Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel Spider-Man 2017.

Yeah we are experiencing a decline of dc games while marvel are getting a bunch of new games like iron man 1943 black panther spider man ps4 marvels avengers wolverine blade ultimate alliance even though im glad we're getting a dc wonder woman game and the fact that we keep getting batman related games and not superman the flash green arrow Green lantern and others really shows how wb really rely too much on batman and WB really dont know dc as well as the fans do

One of the most fun games I’ve played was the old justice league games for the PS2 Multiple different characters, a ton of different levels and worlds, a pretty good story (for a 9-14 year old) It doesn’t seem like WB is even trying anymore

I'm not convinced s2 or anything after especially, will ever see the light of day. I was pretty confident s1 was done or almost done by the time the game released, so I was like 95% confident we'd get that... but I don't think I'm even 70% confident we get s2. And I'm below 40% we get s3+ or in other words, I'm over 60% confident we won't lol. There's no way that content is far enough along to just release as is... unless someone in charge there basically had the same though as me like 6 months ago and told everyone to rush seasons 3-5 to be ready to release in whatever state possible around the same time as s2... because WB may just tell them to pull support. So they'll have like a week to wrap up and push out that final update or something after that. Otherwise, I don't think we're getting past s2, if we even get that. I'm kinda surprised they didn't already pull support. This isn't gonna be a No Man's Sky. There's no saving this without a full Final Fantasy 14 killing off the game and servers for like a year and relaunch with Rebirth. And honestly, it needs like 5 years to be salvaged, probably. So like... I don't see it happening. And it wouldn't be worth it, anyway. Sure, it could salvage their reputation somewhat... or they could put 5 of the 8 years needed into another good game that could also salvage their rep. Like, honestly, if SSKTJL is just a blip, one bad game among a dozen good ones... everyone will barely remember it.
