Close your eyes and you can be on the train. Brilliantly captured. Constant acceleration up the Lickey. Incredible.

Love it !! My Dad told me many years ago, that if the crew on the Banking Loco weren't pulling there weight, the next tunnel they went through he would PEE on a shovel, put it in the firebox, send the back end a message. Lol. Really hope it wasnt the shovel he cooked breakfast on . Great vid , lovely sounds. Nice comment coming from a Diesel fan.

Thank you so very much for making this excellent video. Very emotional for me. My Grandad worked 45 years in Crewe works as a fitter throughout the LMS/BR steam period and later. He may even have worked on the original Lizzie build.

Thank you Geoff for commenting, glad you liked it. It's so nice when people have real connections with the history and story of the railways. Pity Lizzies recent history hasnt been as good.

Dad and his driver once took a Scot from Bristol to Derby and ran the lickey without the banker. It tried to catch ‘em but failed. When they got to the top, they Lena valve which dad fixed with a tanner. He said in later years, never had so much fun outrunning the banker.

Spectacular audio on these shots - no other word for it! Excellent on board video coverage. Cant believe how many people there were at Bromsgrove - you can certainly tell that it was going to be a special event when you see a police officer standing on the platform! Well done and thanks for the upload. Thumbs up and fav from me. - Hayden.

Brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed that & see what you meant about the 'Lickey', glad I stayed at Bordesley where I might have 'featured' had you been on the opposite side!! :-) I wish We could all get organised in a way that 'footage' could be shared to a 'master edit', what great movies we could produce eh!

Yeah, I see. But the Panniers still had to run even over the top. They were a part of the train and kept going, until till we had to reverse at Landor St junction and the Panniers then lead. :-)

Cheers, the train carried four TSO's and two were empty and the other two had a few spare seats. I was filming from one of the empty ones, plus the cost of having to use coaches at the end. It's such a shame for what was a great tour.

Very enjoyable watching this on-board footage, you controlled the camera very well. It reminded me of an "incident" many years ago: as we passed the waste ground where the loco is at 1:49, there was a "flasher" displaying all! not a pretty sight!!! Alan

Yes, it would be good if you could join all the 'angles' from 4/5 cameras but I can understand the reluctance. You would need to create your own group within a local geographical area to bring all the footage to a single 'edit source'! It obviously does happen in a limited way with 'double camera shots' but I guess most of us will remain 'freelance' so long as we enjoy ourselves.

Could Bromsgrove Station fit any more people on the platform! Amazing to see 1000s of people turn out for this. UK definitely world leader in preserved steam! The climb of the Lickey Incline was truly impressive with the train accelerating all the way up that long bank. I forgot for a moment that the bankers wouldn't have been coupled up to the train - otherwise their little wheels would have been spinning somewhat fast! Great post. Thanks. Nearly as good as being there. .......Hᴜɢʜ...TU…..ツ

re...crowd control...a request was put out to BT police to attend bromsgrove station and also the vigo but they could not attend due to other commitments "football matches etc", so instead a couple of local police attended who did nothing to control the crowds...when you look at videos on here, you can see people just inches away from being hit....

No, to many dodgy people on platforms on the right. No way you could film on the right!! Never mind, good footage was had by all. Cool.
