Same goes for the rest of the band, most people focus on Jim but in my eyes each member of the band were equally gifted, they were one of a kind, immaculate some may say, one of my favourites bands of all time and the first I turn when I feel low, their time together was short lived but the quality and quantity of what they created during that time was astonishing and totally unique and will never be equalled, Jim was the Lizard King but could only do anything with the Doors behind him... Gotta run, got my SG and Robby trying to teach me, no matter how much I try even with the man himself can't recreate Mr Krieger feel

When someone play their first album for me and my brothers my two year older brother asked “is this a greatest hits album”. This was in 1983 I don’t know how we had missed the Doors up until then.
Love the foot stomping heaviness of anger, rage, depression and hopelessness in this so g, soundtrack of my life. Sounds pessimesitic, but one of Jims greatest talents aside from his stellar voice and poetry is he channeled his PAIN into a creative outlet that millions across globe could relate to. God bless him for beimg a trooper the way he was, in midst of his pain and emotional scars. Not an easy task when your a depressed poet

As a Deadhead, ever hear their cover in 66 when they were still just a primitive psychedelic bar band? There's one or two recorded versions, circa Nov/Dec 66. It's a happy little tune in their approach. Much different lyrically, as all these old blues songs were depending on who did them.

Great points!! Great band!! Manzerek sort of set them apart from other bands too. (I think he is on keys and some songs are centered around that keyboard) I can say as an artist, an always starving one however, that creating art is essential to any chance of climbing from that depression (as you say) or frustration of words failing us. All too often words pale to ideas. Jim M was not starving by The End (pun very intended lol) but obviously always frustrated. Lucky us. 🫤 Too bad we didn’t get another decade or more of his genius.
I visited his grave in Paris and left some flowers I bought on the street. It was early in the morning and already there were 10 ppl there. This was in 1987. Glad I made the stop. I’ve been back to Paris three times but haven’t made it back. He was magnetic

does your fear of death actually make you embrace it to the point where you come here and curse God himself Jesus Christ is God and if you don't believe in his death burial and Resurrection you have no hope in this world you have no peace that passeth understanding. good luck to you man and God bless. just so you know the Roman Orthodox church and the Catholic Church denies by grace through faith that you are saved and that not of yourself lest any man should boast so only 7% of Christians even claim to believe what the Bible says and you shouldn't judge us until you open that Bible yourself and understand what the fruit of the spirit is. Jim Morrison embraced death to his own destruction please do not follow him sir. you're more than welcome to look at my channel to find proof after proof mathematical archaeological scientific and every other type of proof that there is that Jesus Christ is God and he predicted the beginning to the end he truly is the Alpha and Omega.

Whenever I'm really down, I find one of these tunes, alternate version, or concert and I'm in a entire, opposite state. It's better than therapy. Maybe it is. Love this song. Robbie is just a beast like no other. Its reslly even hard to compare him to anyone specific cause he did his own style. His attitude now, then and thru the years was stellar. Much more free, and laid back, in his own mind. He's playing these unique riffs, and cuts and it's like he's not even trying and killing it.

Long live Aido and Jim!! I hope you guys are doing it properly wherever d fuck u are..baby baby baby'!!!
I like their unique take on the blues. Robbie Krieger just rips it.
Feel's like I am sitting in a booth about 6 ft way from Jim and the band. His voice along with ev-e-ry syllable and every note on the instruments are pristine.
Not sure why but i just woke up and had to here this song tonight. Morrison was a poetic genius. I in fact had a book of his poems that I cherished and stupidly let a so called friend borrow it and no matter how much I asked for it back he would never return it to me. Can you even imagine?? Pure hard core lyrics and rock to go with it. How lucky were we to be alive to witness Morrison and all his genius.
Krieger is an amazingly expressive slide player. In the early days (think "Moonlight Drive") Morrison wanted him to play slide on everything.
My favorite Doors tune,Yep!
I ve been down so long it looks like up to me. this is a perfect blues line the music is great the DOORS were great, very unique.....
I love you, Jim
Thank you to Jim Morrison for all he gave to us!!!
The doors will always be played in my house
Brutal drums. Nonstop thump. What a song.
My 40th Anniversary Edition CD is going with me to my grave when I leave this "everything is fucked up, as usual..you know" world. God, I miss The Lizard King so much still. RIP, Jim and Ray.

One of the Best damn bands I ever had the privledge to see; I remember it like it was yesterday; No other band can come close to this raw & rare music. Jim was (is) in a place only he belongs. Loved his rare smile!
