    For those of us who still cannot distinguish the two: Pressure flip: scoop and pressure board with bs shuv and heel flip ALL IN BACK FOOT Inward heelflip: backside shove it performed with back foot, flick of heel flip performed with front foot

    It's not just a heel flip flick, it also needs to go inward, which is why the front foot of Chris is angled backwards way more than pointing in regular direction for kick flip or heel flip.

    no in the inward heelflip its more the front foot that does the majority of it the back foot only scoops very lightly

    I think it's somewhere in between, you can tell the board start flipping when he pops, but at the same time his front foot is scraping against the board and helping it rotate. He does know how to Pressure Flip, so he's probably using to the feeling.

    Hamza "Xenon" Itani you tellin me that you don't understand english? yes I know Aaron did a pressure flip in a "today I learned" episode. but this is different. check out the fucking back foot. i hate when people don't have common sense. with a pressure flip, the fucking back foot is in the fucking pocket making the fucking board flip by applying pressure to the weird little pocket part of the board. fuck... i hate these trick name debates

    HIS FRONT FOOT MOVED BACK. IT DIDNT FLICK ARE YOU BLIND? honestly :l HIS BACK FOOT APPLIED "PRESSURE" TO THE BACK POCKET. ITS A PRESSURE FLIP. if anything you could get technical ad call it a Pressure inward heel but its still a pressure flip. the most common type

    When I pop an inward heelflip my front foot almost has an aggressive feeling slide to it. When it comes back around it should smack the bottom of your foot. To get that aggresive flick try angling your toes "just a little bit" towards the back bolts.

    Aaron does move his front foot creating the inward heel illusion, but I think the real giveaway was the backfoot. Chris Chann clearly does a shuvit by scraping backward, but Aaron points his toe inward like a pressure flip scoop.

    Inward heel flips which are one of my personal favorites and have gotten a lot of my opponents the letter E. In. my opinion Inward heels are created from giving pop before the take off and a pressure flip is more of just a hippy-jump and a scoot if that makes sense. But I admire the effort to make the difference known.. I have had a lot of arguments about this too back in the day

    i like yours better its refined for not knowing it much i remember learning this and timing how fast i could get my front foot off so i could make it look like i was flicking with my heel in the air but essentially the heel doesn't do much other than maybe hold the board more directly under you if you make it look like your friend has mastered yours is perfectly ok and nice. to make it a heel all that means is the foot comes off the side superficial but the illusion is necessary cuz lets be honest the pressure flip is a toe version i looked at what this all meant its like a magician trick it means nothing without style your lack of style is pure and symmetrical so yes it does look better from behind

  • @SIGHTERify

    don't worry Aaron sometimes i do Heelflips but, im flicking it with my part of foot that supposed to flicking kickflip, i landed it but the board turn slow, i don't know what exactly it is but im sure im doing heelflips NOT kickflips. so in that case im sure you do Inward Heelflips but flicking it with your front side of your foot. And in my opinion pressure flip is trick that your front foot doing nothing, just your back foot popping the board and put some pressure till the board flips and land it with your both feet. am i right ?

    There's actually a 3rd way to do them too. The way I do them I shuv with the back foot not pressure style but my front foot flicks downward as the board turns a bit. So I don't flick out like Chan's doing but downward on the edge of the board. There's a name for it but I can't remember

  • @ThisOldSkater
    @ThisOldSkater9 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, that was a pretty interesting analysis. I think the main part is that Chris is flicking out and forward, closer to the nose; while yours seem to be flicked straight out from where your foot is positioned.

    Im on a trick that i keep wanting to call an inward varial kickflip. I put my front foot at half point. When I pop the board I scoop my foot backwards and make the board flip OVER my front foot. Its almost a front foot impossible because it fully wraps then varial flips off.

  • @NatureandSpirit111
    @NatureandSpirit1114 жыл бұрын

    Imo your heel of your front foot does hit the rail of your board just in a different spot. Your feet have almost the exact same motion except your front foot doesn’t kick forward as much. Your rear foot does almost the exact same thing. Imo a pressure flip uses the pressure of the back foot to sweep the board nearly vertical for a pressure flip instead of horizontal for an inward heel flip.

    I swear, it definitely looks like both of them flick the board. The way I usually spot a pressure flip is when the person uses the edge of the tail/pocket and the front foot just lifts up and doesn't do anything else... I loved Inward Heels when I first saw them and now... I don't know. I hate the pressure flip controversy.

    I still follow along with skating after so many years, This is definitely one trick that has changed. I commented on a post below but check out some early 90s videos. Pressure flips used to be done just like you said with the back toe hanging over the corner of the deck and also more of an angler. The back foot does all the work on them. Inward heels a majority of the trick is done with the front foot. Easiest way to learn inward heels just starting out is to point your front foot the toes back towards the tail. It feels really awkward but will show the flick easier. Once you understand how it is supposed to feel you can have your foot normal like a heel flip. I used to love both tricks.

    These are most definitely pressure flips. The slo-mo clearly shows that the front leg is doing nothing but literally getting out of the way - there is no leveling motion with it so the rotation, pop, and flip are all occurring because the back foot is doing all that by itself. If you break down Chris Chann's motions you can clearly see his lead leg is leveling the initial pop and then proceeds to "soft flip" the board. e.g.: the lead leg is not the primary source of downward force to make the board flip (that's coming from the placement and pressure applied by the back foot by being in the pocket), but is still helping the board to flip.

    Aaron barely flicks with his heel compared to Chris, which is why it looks so weird and is more like a preassure flip (I think). I could do inward heels a couple of years ago but I'm not sure now.

    look how much higher he lifts his front foot compared to yours. allows the board to pop higher which makes him need less force with the front foot. watch the front foot height and imagine if you both did an ollie with tht front foot height. one would be garbge. your front foot and back foot pretty much stay the same height which is causing the pressure flip making you have to flick dopwn instead of flicking as it comes up. i cant do this trick thats just what im seeing :)

    to do an inward heel flip you put your back toe on the heel side of the tail. You are putting it on the toe side which is causing a pressure flip instead.

    There difference is that Chann actually kicks his front foot out to do the spin, while you're using your back foot. I know it sounds obvious but whatever. Watching you in slow motion I don't even see your heel hit the board. You kind of just lift up the leg.

    IT'S A POP SHUV AND A HEELFLIP, so you have to slide up the grip to the top left corner with your foot to flick it instead of a heel tap to the side, that's why chris channs look good

    Notice you're both riding the same direction with the same stance, but your weight is shifted on opposite sides. You're doing a pressure flip because you're putting your weight on the toes of your left foot while popping. He's leaning back and and popping with more of the ball of his foot. You're also not flicking with your right foot and he is.

    Keep your shoulders straight and aligned with your direction of motion before and while jumping. Focus sliding your front foot directly along your line of motion.

    It's and inward heelflip it's just your style of inwards. By flicking it it makes it not a pressure flip. Pressure flips are all in the back foot.

    I cheat game of skates by changing my footings for my pressure flips to that of the inward heel, exaggerating how my front foot moves making it look like an inward heel 😂 I got my pressure flips locked in but I never did a proper inward heel 😂

    With a pressure flip it's all in your back foot and not in your front foot it's the scoop that makes a pressure flip where as with the inward heel it's a pop not a scoop and it's all in the front foot
