The Difference Between Embiid & Jokic

Спорт

This was an originally supposed to be a video hyping Joel Embiid up. He's on pace to win his second straight MVP award and the only thing now holding him back from being an all time great center is playoff success. But After he decided to once again duck Nikola Jokic in Denver we had to change things up a bit and break down why Joel Embiid is not on the same level as Nikola Jokic.

    @@032HULK That is the point , Joel is a known player to get injured enough that it just seems like poor taste to doubt him or give him crap . It's not like he is Ben Simmons who is just killing time to keep his contract. Joel is a big dude and anything to do with his knee they are going to be very carful since they are trying to do well in the post as well and would need Joel 110% healthy to have a chance. Also , I watched and read the comments before I found out Joel got hurt again. I paused the video at the end and started making a comment to point out that a player like Joel , AD or like Kawhi , if they get banged up in the regular season , I would want my team to rest them and not play this game given his history. when I was making this point is when I looked up to see what exactly happened in The Pacers game to make sure he at least did hurt himself and then the news was just breaking almost in real time that Joel was maybe done for the season. That is why I worded it that way. It doesn't change that fact that this was a known thing going into this season that Joel has a hard time playing 65 games and he has been called out for flaming out in the post season.

    You should have mentioned in your video that Jokic always plays! He has missed one game this season, and also carried his team to the playoffs when Murray and MPJ were out due to injuries. Sure, they didn't win, but he got them there. The man has been dealing with a lingering wrist injury, back strain, and was poked in the eye a few days ago where you can see it's still visibly irritated, but still played! Embiid is soft. Embiid didn't deserve MVP last year, he clearly stole that from Jokic with the smear campaign by KP. Joker was clearly better than the year before when he won it. This year, the 9 of 11 games he's missed have been against teams like the Heat, Celtics, Bucks, Pelicans, Magic, Rockets, Timberwolves, etc. The two home games he missed were against the Jazz and Kings. Coincidence? I don't think so! The games where he is said to dominate teams... Is he truly dominant? Sure, if you're playing sub 500 teams. I don't get the hype around this guy. To me, Jokic is clearly better and more deserving but Stephen A has already started the narrative this weekend, that if Embiid doesn't qualify for MVP because of what he's missed, that the next person that wins it clearly doesn't deserve it. I take that as a jab to Jokic, but how can you support a guy that doesn't play? How is he deserving if he doesn't play? This is where I truly hate the media. 🤦‍♀️

He leads the league in points scored, steals and his Defensive Box Plus Minus is 2.7 for the first time in his career. I'm not saying Jokic or Embiid have less of an impact. Fun fact: Jokic is 1-12 vs Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City all time, only win Denver got there was back in february 2020 as they had only 7 players available. Jokic played that game, on the road, against team that was 32-16 at the time, won a game with Murray, Monta Morris, G.Harris, T.Craig, Cancar and PJ Dozier! Out of those 7 players 2 are now out of the ligue, 3 barelly play now, it 's safe to say that Jokic played that game and most of that season with G--Ligue team, So my point is, even that Jokic always lose at Utah, he plays, he doesn't mind if he have 4 pionts, or even lose game, he puts in effort all the time, every game, he shows up. Embiid on other had only looks for his stats, he values own scoring more than team success, flopps all the time, foul baiting. There is no comparising of those tho players, it should never be again!

If he goes back to back then that robbery gets 100x worse cuz that would’ve been joker’s third straight. Look up some history and come back and tell me how many guys have won three straight. They can't hype up Jokic vs Embiid on hype videos, but not deliver on that. I mean dude wasn't listed on the IR. It has to be that he was ducking the game or the team just seemingly forgot to add him to IR... NBA fans who paid out to see this big match should rightfully be pissed. I gotta say this video feels like it’s in pretty bad taste. It’s easy to just follow the “he’s ducking” narrative but he missed the followed game and then had a massive injury against the golden state warriors. The same injury people want to pretend he’s faking is now taking him out of the mvp race. I get it tickets cost a lot of money but situations like this make me feel that the fans can get a little too entitled. He didn’t even put himself on the injury report… the team manager did. Because the team understood this was a real risk. In fact the only reason why he was playing against golden state was prob because of the new rule an people saying he’s ducking but now one of our leagues best stars is out with an injury again and sports media doesn’t even stop to say maybe we’re wrong after pushing these narratives. Hell shannon sharpe was talking about this is what y’all get for sitting games while healthy. What do you mean? Embiid has been injury prone his whole career i really don’t think he needs to fake it just give it a month and he’ll be injured

  • @shorewall

    @shorewall

    Lol, this video was made before he was injured. And 2, if Embiid was really bullied into playing because of being called soft, then he really is soft. Or if he played when he was hurt in order to qualify for the MVP, instead of trying to be healthy for the playoffs and win a chip, then he is a stat padder like everyone says he is. We had the media glazing Embiid calling him better than Wilt and Shaq. Except he hasn't done half of what they did at the same age. He wants the legacy without doing the work. He is a 7 ft Harden, and he will not win a championship as a number 1. I hope he gets well, but I do not respect his case as MVP, or better than Shaq or Wilt or Jokic.

    It's the LeBron tactic. Ball out against mediocre or bad teams, and sit out when you're playing a contender team, or a rival player/team. Though Embid is an insane talent, no denying that, I am not a fan of selective playing and stat padding. It's wild, because the talent in the NBA is crazy good in todays NBA. But with how they ref, load management, flopping and all the uncalled travels in the NBA, its sort of cheapening the game. Its so easy to score in todays NBA in comparison to how it used to be. And change is always invitable, but its not as shocking to see all these high scoring games once you look into how they achieved it. Now if he was doing this sort of stuff playing other all stars then thets different. Only playing subpar teams and clearly sitting out when playing other all stars/superstars is lame.

    Shoutout to Rayce for putting up with COVID during the recording, I hope he gets another round of the vaccine asap.

    A vaccine is to build your immunity so that you don't get sick, not to cure you when you get sick. Vaccines infect you with dead or weakened virus cells, so that your body can build antibodies. If you already are sick, then your body is already building antibodies. Getting a vaccine won't help, and may even overwhelm your system.

    true, being the regular season High score player is nothing, Harden did it, Luka did it, etc etc. The only thing that matters are the playoff and good thing that the playoffs is hard as NAILS. You can say whatever you want about Jokic being slow and he doesn't pat his scoring like others. But he's saving his energy for the playoffs like a marathon player, instead of sprinting for stats

    Who knew Denver actually had a fanbase. I guess the Championship brought out the borderline fans.
