The Deymed TruTrace EMG system

Ғылым және технология

2021 has certainly provided us with a variety of challenges and without having such flexible and reliable NCS/EMG equipment, I doubt we could have performed as well as we did. Despite daily use over the last 18 months and lots of cleaning, all the hardware looks remarkably new. So a huge thank you to Deymed Diagnostic and their UK suppliers - Neurogen Medical.
NB I am not an agent / representative of either company and so any questions or interest relating to this equipment should be directed (depending on where you're based) to either deymed.com/ or www.neurogenmedical.com/
Declaration:
I have no financial interests to declare with either Deymed or Neurogen Medical, nor have I knowingly received preferential treatment. I am keen for all developers in our field to continue to invest, innovate and improve their offerings and would be similarly happy to review related equipment from other neurophysiology manufacturers and their UK distributors too (schedule permitting).

Hi @Neurophysiology. I hope you are well. Going off topic quickly, is Benign Fasiculation syndrome a brain disorder? And what can be the causes? It’s just about 6 months ago I caught covid, and about a week later I took ketamine for the first time. 2 days later I woke up with involuntary twitching and myclonic jerks. A few days later it went, but the one thing that happened a few days after that, and has stuck ever since, is that both of my calves constantly twitch at rest, and it led me to having a mental breakdown. I paid to see a private neurologist and he told me that it is all anxiety related, as I am scared that using drugs once has ruined my whole life. I had an emg on my calves and it came back clear. Of course I’m not asking for medical advice over the internet. But in your opinion, do u think this can go away? And would something like Botox be a suitable treatment? Thanks

@@DrSimonFreilich thank you for the reply. The thing is, mentally I cannot accept this situation. I can never relax when I am at rest due to the constant twitching. If push comes to shove I would even be willing to get nerve ablation done. It is ridiculously frustrating ☹️

@@JamesSmith-ds2hi I hear your frustration. I saw 3 neurologists with my condition and finally found one that I connected with who really helped me. I've been dealing with, or rather managing, Isaac's Syndrome for 15 years. I've dealt with similar symptoms as you describe and more. I thought my life was over. I couldn't sleep due to the constant fasciculations and cramps. The cramps meant that I could not drive a car, work or walk up the stairs in our house. I have been able to manage the symptoms with changes to my lifestyle (diet, rest, stretching, stress management) and medication (Oxtellar XR -- extended release carbamazepine). It took me 10 years to get to this point, but I can say that my life went from zero to 85% in that time. I still have plenty of really bad days, but I also have many more good days and I can say that the symptoms don't define my life. I say all this to encourage you. I hope you find your path through this.
