The DEVASTATING Life of Princess Alice | Queen Victorias Daughter

Alice was the third child of Queen Victoria and prince albert, she was born in 1843. The name alice
was chosen by the priminster at the time Lord Melbourne, he had told the queen that it was his
favourite name and so the royal couple obliged.
Alice was raised alongside her other 8 siblings, she had a series of tutors and governesses that
looked after them all and ensured they got the right care and education that royal children were
privileged to.
She was a caring young girl and had been well known for being the families care giver, which led her to eventually take the role of caring for her dying grandmother. She would later take on the role of caring for her dying father also, and she took the brunt of the emotional turmoil in the family as she became a shoulder to cry on for Queen Victoria in the following years after her fathers death.
This was a lot of pressure and emotional strain for one young woman to take on, she was the face of the monarchy while her mother hid away from the public for years.

Princess Alice Maud Mary’s last words were “From Friday to Saturday, four weeks, May, Papa”. The night before she died Alice said good night to her doctor and fell asleep, a sleep she would never wake from. She murmured in her sleep before dying. After revealing that Marie had died, to her son Ernie, she had kissed him and got infected. -Alice loved Louis very dearly trough out her marriage, she reflected it in her letters to her mother -Alice was very talented at drawing, painting and piano -She was a very caring and loving mother to her children

She behaved as the kings before and after her did. The English royal family had always attacked their own. Think about what Queen Lizzy did to her own sister, her own son. Boggles the mind that these people can work amazing things and treat their own blood like dog shit.

@@zzzbbbooo Queen Elizabeth snapped the leash on Margaret many times while she was attempting to marry the love of her life Townsend. Promising Margaret, "next year, parliament will be ready to be put to the question." But next year and next year came and Margaret never got to marry Peter Townsend, because he was a divorcee and untitled. After waiting on her sister for years, he got packed off to Europe by her majesty's military and they both gave up. When it comes to Charles, that should be obvious. He was pushed into marrying Diana because she was considered more fit than the woman he loved, who was Camilla, a non-virgin lol. And that was an extremely disastrous decision. When he entertained ideas of marrying Camilla before Diana was shoved at him, Lizzy packed Charles off on Naval duty. She had a bad habit of sending people off when they had ideas of their own.

Thank you, Princess Alice has always touched me. You have asked for other suggestions I was wondering if you could do several different videos on Queen Charlotte, wife of George III. A video on relationships with each of her children and then one on her family as well on Georgia III, mother were they close? How did her mother in law treat her?

Princess Alice certainly lived a devastating life and much grief. And a mother who was actually jealous of her own children's happiness is shocking! But I dare say it could have been even worse: it was Princess Alice's very great luck that she did not get hitched to her earlier suitor the Prince of Orange, because her life would have been even more miserable. Willem, Prince of Orange was a monster of a man, gross, aggressive, unpredictable, hard & bad tempered, possibly even psychotic. As King Willem III of The Netherlands, he was nicknamed "Koning Gorilla". And he was well known for his visits to Paris brothels, just as King Edward VII of the UK was.

I don't think Queen Victoria was cruel at all although her looks made her look very stern if anything later on in life she did suffer family tragedies in loosing the lovely Princess Alice and her son not to mention the loss of her beloved Prince Albert also we must remember that her health wasn't too great she suffered a prolapse of the uterus at a time when medicine was in it's infancy

  • @kellyallen2040

    @kellyallen2040

    10 ай бұрын

Not cruel?!!! She allowed her son to be beaten when he suffered from hemophilia- he could have been killed. She also wouldn't let "bertie" (later King Edward Vii) do anything as in royal duties furious with his playboy antics even though she herself was very fond of sex and in those days for an upper class man it was very normal to frequent brothels etc blamed him for his own father's death! Wouldnt send Alice any old sheets etc when the country she married into was at war and alice was tending to the wounded, also critised her for doing so,Was so horrible and controlling to all her children, hated for them to have any happiness. If it wasn't for her children we wouldn't have a royal family now! Infact, I have found that people believe that Queen Victoria did so much good for charities for the working class including supporting suffragettes and widowed mothers NO! she didn't at all, they are getting confused as this was Princess Victoria her daughter also Alice and Louise who had so much empathy where Queen Victoria had none she was obsessed with Albert because she heavily relied on him, he did far more than people realise and there is also no proof that he loved her as she did him, marrying her put him in a far better position than what he was born into.

Yes! She was a woman of courage! She is known in most encyclopedias as " *Princess* *Alice of Battenberg* " (m. 1903) So, her birthname was never Mountbatten (the post 1917 name of the family) For the same reason that George V 's wife, Mary is known as " *Mary of Teck* " (in encyclopedias) Mary's two younger brothers had their last name changed to "Cambridge" in1917. The British branch of the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha had their name changed to Windsor in 1917.

I suspect that good old Queen Vickie was a bit of a narcissist. Most people who hold vast power become narcissistic. Queen Victoria herself had an unhappy childhood. Albert was probably the only person that she truly bonded with. (imho) Albert's parents had an unhappy marriage (they were "swingers" in their era) but they loved their two boys. His parent's lifestyle and the lifestyle of Victoria's uncles convinced Albert and Victoria that they had to lead uber-respectable lives (Both were also, in particular, Albert a strong Christian(s).

George VI was named Albert ("Bertie") He had a younger (the youngest brother) whose birth name was George = Prince George Duke of Kent = who was the uncle of Elizabeth II. Prince George, Duke of Kent's 3 children are the late queen, Elizabeth II 's first cousins The offspring of George V.'s third son (Prince Henry Duke of Gloucester) William (deceased) and Richard are also the late queen's first cousins (i.e. Prince Richard Duke of Gloucester and his wife, Duchess, Brigitte)
