Princess Alice, was said to be an extremely friendly and a approachable person, and was commonly seen catching the bus from Kensington High Street (she lived in later life at Kensington Palace) to go shopping in Mayfair.
Princess Alice was so beautiful!
Sir Henry Abel-Smith was once Governor of the Australian state of Queensland. He and Lady May were a very popular vice-regal couple, living at Government House in Brisbane. Prince Alice came out to visit them during their term in office.
Princess Alice seemed very sweet like her dear mother. ♥️

I met Sir Henry Abel Smith when he was Fovernor. Lovely man to speak to!
30 years ago, my husband and I stayed at Brantridge Park, by which time it had been divided into a variety of timeshare holiday apartments. We were lucky enough to score Princess Alice’s personal living quarters. Very cool. Brantridge is once again a privately owned home and equestrian facility.
