As a fan of x-files, this scratches that itch.
This is an outstanding book. Very well written with stunning art.
Can't wait to get this. I did a review of the first 15 issues last year and I mentioned how I'd stop getting it monthly and wait for the Deluxe Editions. Here we go!
I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR REVIEW OF THIS BOOK! I saw this at my LCBS and I was intrigued. I collected the first trade paperback, BUT I WANT THIS ONE!!! Thanks Omar!
Man, it's kinda strange how I keep getting WAY MORE excited for Image and Dark Horse oversized hardcovers than "the big two". This wasn't the case at all several years ago!

Same here. Better stories with definitive endings for the most part and not so much cookie cutter stories

Full Offense: Creator Owned Comics has always been what American Comics should have been all about. IMO, DC and MARVEL tainted what makes the Comics Medium so flexible and incredible. Well.......until they only stuck to doing capes and spectacle type stories. At least Shonen Jump has sheer variety in stories that dont have to involve action or machismo power levels.
Issue 3 is heavy but that's actually why it's one of my favorites in the series. I thought it tackled the topic really well.
This has my favorite art in a series in many years. I understand why people hate it though.
Cant wait for my copy. Read the first trade and decided to wait for this.
I've been buying the TPB's, as I love the textures of the covers. They're kind of rough, as a opposed to glossy and smooth, which I found interesting. I also like the way they've mapped the TPB's as the 'deviations' have been confined to volume 3, so you could just read volumes 1, 2 and 4 for the main story
Just got mine 20 minutes ago 😊
Jumped into this without knowing anything and absolutely love it. Keep us posted on that volume 2 please!
I'm now very tempted to check this out. James Tynion always delivers so when you mentioned you weren't into it. I had reservations. But im on board now. This is right up my ally
I'm still on the fence about this, but appreciate the review, Omar! Really like the creepy background music, added to the mood. 😄

Same. Not sure if this book is for me.
So much darker than expected and the artstyle took the whole thing to the next level. Thank Omar! Without you I would have never heard of the book. I just read Slave.Control. It's a book though, it is not as supernatural but it goes dark really quickly. I would recommend!
I didn't think much of this until my buddy gave me the first 2 trades and it was so good I couldn't put it down. Even my wife liked it and she hates comic books lol. The Sasquatch diaries were kinda rough but other than that I think it's great and recommend it to everybody
I really enjoyed reading through this book. I can't wait for volume 2
Image seems to be spamming out these Deluxe Hardcovers, so much so that this year, there’s at least two series that aren’t too well-known (one being Cullen Bunn’s Regression). It’d be nice if other publishers followed suit
That is a good looking book. Great job Omar 👍🏻
Its on my wish list. I like these image deluxe editions.
My favorite part is the indicia that says that all names and characters are entirely fictional and any similarities to real people is entirely coincidental but one of the main characters is… well I don’t want to spoil anything but the head of the department of truth
It looking really cool.
The artwork is amazing and I love the story, I'm definitely going to buy this book in the future. Thanks Omar for the video 🦍.
Nearly picked this up the other day but it isn't even the complete run. There are 22 issues and this has 17 or 18 in it. The writer is notorious for not finishing runs properly. So, enjoy volume 2 in like six years, if at all, I guess.
Some of the art reminds me of john j muth or dave mc keen.
Btw, you cant see earths curvature in a plane. Its tiring hearing people still say you can. You cant. You have to be way higher. People underestimate how insanely large the planet is
Already in my library. I'm absolutely not the conspiracy type of person but this is a good read :) Thx Omar
2:12 Omar can you make a quick comparison of 2nd print of I hate fairyland and the 1st print?
Anyone remember the Mothman movie with richard gere? Classic!

Of course! lol Actually, I grew up about 30 miles down the Ohio River from where the Mothman story originates / location of the film (Point Pleasant, WV).
Just ordered this after I'd sold the first 3 trades on Ebay. Loved the first 3 trades. Superb story and writing. Bought vol 4 trade though awhile ago and it seemed a big drop off from the previous quality.

What made the 4th trade plummet in storytelling quality, in your opinion?

@@featofclay2295 Hey man. Hard to remember as I buy and read loads of books, all the time! I've read the first 4 trades and remember being blown away by the first 3 ( just sold them on eBay because I've ordered this deluxe ) but not being impressed with vol 4... I still have it though and it will get a re-read once I get my deluxe of the first 3. My opinion could change ( this has happened before on re-reads ) and I hope it does. But I distinctly remember thinking vol 4 wasn't as good as the first 3.

@@geminisundone Are there seperate stories going on in each of the volumes?

@@ShoaibAli-iz3kn Hey man. Yes I believe so. I've still got this deluxe sat on my shelf in its cellophane waiting to be read again. I'm hoping to remedy that soon as I remember the story's being fascinating, dealing with different conspiracys. The art is superb too.

Algo tentador para comprar.
Image must be taking a year break from department of truth

Takes time for Simmonds to create that amazing artwork
Oh jeebz, some people are going to think this is a documentary, But I'll think I'll get this for a laugh
There was a time that I went the rabbit hole, chasing conspiracy theories. I've read so many books and watched so many documentaries that now, though I still find some interesting, I prefer to ignore them and carry on with my life.
I've got a Marvel Super Heroes CD Calendar 1995, the case is cracked but the 12 cards are mint. I've been looking online for any info on it, but I can't find a dicky bird. Have you or anybody in the comments even heard of it?
Read the first issue and the dialogue and art weren't for me.
I hate the art but i like conspiracy stuff... i was gonna put it down cus of the art and then u find out who the director is !
I really like the concept of this book but the only thing that puts me off is the muddy art. Still I may give a shot👍
Hard pass. The art just doesn't do it for me. Excellent review though, thanks!
Story looks good. But the art is not my cup of tea ..
Too much woke in this book!!
