Maybe the pillagers wanted to try and control the warden for their own benefit like they captured the iron golems in their pillager outposts and thus were trying to light the portal which could be the warden's home

My theory is that the sculk comes from the ancient people's accidental experiment which also create a the warden we known today The warden killed all the ancient people and it's possibly now guarding the portal which leads to another dimension probably aether since there are a 22 seconds aether like soundtrack in the disk 5 The big structure is a portal since in disk 5 we can hear a portal opens and Mojang confirmed that the smaller version of this is called a "portal" The dimension must be the aether since the aether is a calm heavenly place which I think it's could be a reward for killing the warden(which drops something that can light the portal)

Nah, I don’t think the Old Builders built the Ancient City, I have a theory of who built it. The Ancient City had towers made of Dark Oak Wood, and the Woodland Mansion was made of mostly Dark Oak, so the City must’ve been built by the Illagers, and that frame that the structures had didn’t represent the Warden, I think it represents the lower mantle of the Minecraft world where there’s a cave made entirely out of slate for an empire

Yes another theory suggests that the ancient builders are actually illagers/pillagers which would make some sense. But I think is real is that the illagers discovered the ancient cities after they were built therefore trying to repair it, but failing since the warden protects the area.

@@OXAPRO the ancient builders were villagers, but they were exiled by other pacifist villagers/villages for being too violent. They trekked down and got so used to the caves around them, that they turned into the colors of stone/or became ill and transformed into illagers. They then constructed the ancient city(which would explain the dark oak bits)and a golem of their own(Warden). It went Rouge and killed everyone and made sculk out of their souls. It couldn't have been built overground because if we take real life evolution into perspective, society would be too underdeveloped to make such big structures. Considering erosion and stone transitions into deepslate, it was most likely built at Y coords 40- 10. Later on, villagers could've discovered the city decades/centuries later and conducted experiments with Steve. They learnt to stay away from the warden and learnt what to do to avoid/ distract it. They could have also experimented on Redstone to try to make the portal in the center work. One day, the warden went loose, and that's when disc's 5,11 and 13 come into play. Connecting them will tell more story. Specifically of Steve escaping the warden. (Everything/most things in this theory theorized by me) EXTRA THEORY: Cave noises are Steve's flashbacks to him and 2 other villagers escaping via minecart. Eventually getting blown up by a creeper and tumbling down an abandoned Mineshaft, other manecarts following in their wake. Both villagers died, but not Steve, who then gets sniffed out by the warden. (Extra theory about the cave noises being linked to Steve's flashbacks was created by another ytber I forgot the name of. The 1st sentence of the extra was theorized by me.)
