How I Restored The Ancient City In Minecraft!

Ойындар

I love the Minecraft Ancient City. It is very cool and mysterious! Since the first time I saw it, I wanted to restore the city and see how it used to be before the Sculk and Warden took over and ruined everything.

the reason why ancient cities spawn close together, is because they mainly spawn under the 1.18 mountain biomes so you often find them bunched up under mountains. thx for all the likes 😊

The ice box rooms kept meat frozen, they were used back in the day before freezers were a thing, can still find them in european ruins, you would put a decent amount of ice in there and due to to the design of the building and the vent sysem the cold air would cycle, thus keeping everything cold - to prevent rotting meat etc.

Then a huge battle happened and the last thing the people who lived here did was closing the Portal they worked so hard to get working. But Skulk has spewed out of the dimension destroying the City and now, even though the Portal has been shutdown, The Skulk Shriekers allows one of the creatures from the other world, The Warden to enter the Overworld via the Skulk and Attack whoever dares to visit the ruined city. As to what happened to the People. Some died the day the Portal Opened and the ones who survived managed to seal the portal shut. And abandoned the City in ruins, leaving it underground to keep the Portal hidden and not let anyone reopen it.

This is probably the best depiction of what the ancient cities would've looked like in their glory days. It really contrasts well and instead of the ruined hell that it once was has now been transformed and reinstated into this beautiful masterpiece. The portal, the Warden, the Ancient City, the uninhabitance. Here’s my lore to all of this. The Ancient City was built by people, being my guess I’d say the Ancient Builders were the ones that built it and when they designed the portal it released the skulk which brought the Warden into the world. The Warden was too overwhelming for the ancient builders and murdered all of them. Or so would be thought, as generations go on time and time some of the original ancient builders could have escaped. So they went and searched for ways to destroy the Warden, documenting everything they have found. They found some interesting things, as monsters started appearing after the Warden appeared. Most appeared to be the undead whilst others appeared to be huge spiders. The scariest of them all was a pure black entity that was one block taller than them and another was a green creature that would explode when approached. Upon killing these entity’s they dropped a pearl and gunpowder. As the Ancient Builders have no home they seek a new one but to their interest they find another portal. They look down at the portal and see the pearl they have inside one of the 12 slots but the only difference is this one has an eye in it. They want more, they need to know how to fix the portal and so they seek out a way to finish the portal. Long and hard they search to no avail, they created Mineshafts to search for clues underground but nothing helped. Some Ancient Builders learned witchcraft to, in hope, have potions in their future fight against the Warden. Their potion making skills were amazing but they then tried a new kind of potion that exploded creating something that they have never before seen. It looked as if they ripped a hole straight to the underworld. They entered into this dimension which looked as if they were in Hell itself. They called this place the Nether because it gave off burning souls and forever pain. They searched high and low through the Nether, finding what materials they could. They found a mysterious looking area, it looked like an underworld Jail house. They fought deadly monsters, none near as strong as what was previously fought but still stronger than monsters in the over world. One appeared to be an extremely tall black skeleton wielding a sword. They destroyed this monster and took its head as a reward, whilst taking a couple more while they were there. Adventuring further into the area they found what looked like a spawner of some sorts and before they knew it they got ambushed by the monsters that came out. These monsters shot fire balls at the ancient builders and could fly. The ancient builders, frightened and scared, only killed around 7-10 and took their drops which looked like dust and rods. When they returned to the over-world they abandoned the portal entirely vowing only to go back there if ever needed. They then set back for home, with the third portal. They continued to document all their learnings and learned so much they made a library and filled it with all their books. They were not yet finished though as they still had so much more to learn and so some set out to Wander and search for new inhabitants to seek out help and they could trade with while others were over the plans and decided to leave and live a happy life in a village. The wandering traders, however, did plan on returning once they had news. Two or three would decide to wonder off together in the extreme cold climates so they wouldn’t freeze to death, they would build Igloos so they could stay warm until they were ambushed by monsters. They fought them off bravely until one was gotten, it looked as if he was normal but he wasn’t because he was dead. They locked the undead up under the Igloo in hopes they could find a way to cure him. If the Wandering Traders didn’t plan on going in the cold they would take a Llama or two to keep them safe from enemies. Some Wandered deep into jungles and far into vast deserts, both were on the verge of dying however and created temples for the future travelers that found them have the treasure they were hiding. Some traders traveled the ocean and traveled so much they became pirates, eventually crashing and dying leaving only their buried treasure and boat remains behind. The Builders that learned witchcraft, however, secluded themselves too much and with their potions gone insane and would kill anything or anyone that comes near. Finally after traveling so far a Wandering trader finds what looks to be a ginormous wall that leads to the sky. Everything about this place seemed odd to him and it looked like if it was the edge of the world. He knew it was dangerous as it was day out and monsters were everywhere, but what he learned was even crazier. Hurriedly he ran back to his friends and told them what he had learned, they instantly looked at the portal like they were ready to enter. They needed more materials so they returned to this massive wall and knew it wasn’t normal. Something big created it, the only thing they could think of was the Warden. They trained and obtained full Diamond Armor and Weapons with good enchants then returned to the portal room. The powder they acquired from the fiery beast ignited the eye and one by one they filled in the portal pieces until it was full. Then the portal opened to a dimension not set foot to their eyes. The place was full of those tall black creatures, possibly their home. They ventured further and saw great big towers of obsidian and in the middle was a pedestal, on top was an egg and the portal that lead out of there. They thought that only an egg and the portal couldn’t be all there is so they started to dig, they dug and dug and dug until eventually someone found something. It was a green chest, a chest none have saw before. Inside were totems, they had no idea what the totems were for and took the chest and all the totems and held onto them for safe keeping. As they tried to leave one tried to grab the egg, nocking it down cracking it. All the others leave as it’s a broken egg while the last one watches and see’s the creature inside open it’s eye and look at him ready as if it was going to kill him. He hurriedly gets out of there before it lets out a frightening roar and the portal closes. They all pass through the portal and because of the monster there closing it the eyes inside of it explode leaving only three left. As they had no need to worry they believed that they were ready for the fight against the Warden. They marched their way back to their city to take back what was rightfully theirs. They all charge into the city thinking they had a chance but no, the Warden booby trapped the whole place so he would know when someone was coming. As soon as they entered the Warden was already onto them, murdering them almost instantly however they didn’t die. They had something float over their heads and to their surprise it was their totems. They all fled or tried to escape from the Warden as he was still too powerful for them but little did they know as time went on the power of the totem that brought them back from dying slowly turned their minds to mush and became what is known as the Illagers. They went and made Mansions and Outposts across the world, ready to kill anything or anyone that is not one of them.

Hey. I did the same thing, though I was going for themed sectors as the bleak colors made it difficult to navigate and rather boring. I added streetlights and blue flame gardens, though yours is far more impressive and visually pleasing. To brighten up the darker areas, especially the portal, I placed luminous blocks behind stairs and slabs instead of going the lantern route.
