The Day EDDIE STRONGMAN Dropped a DEADLIFT WORLD RECORD

Спорт

3 DEADLIFT World Records in one Day - or was it 4? Eddie ‘The Beast' HALL & Benedikt MAGNUSSON went Head-to-Head, taking on the DEADLIFT World Record - and it didn’t disappoint.
But was it 4 Deadlift World Records? Magnus Ver Magnusson the 4x World's Strongest Man refereed the - First Ever - WORLD DEADLIFT CHAMPIONSHIPS and decided to disallow Eddie's final lift.
By the end of the day the Deadlift World Record stood at - 461kg (1016 lb).
Laurence "Big Loz" SHAHLAEI would also initially break the British DEADLIFT record in an Epic Strongman contest.
Filmed at the inaugural World Deadlift Championships at Europe’s Strongest Man in 2014.

I think it is impossibly far to jump, he can't break physics. If you look at the video of the 500 kg, it's not really clear that he has locked his body out completely, although I'll believe if the judges said that he did it. He has shaking all over the place when he does the 500 though, it's difficult to see if his body is extended properly.

That’s really really really painful to watch. I just watched a recent video of Eddie reacting to this lift many years later and he said that this was like a really dark point in his career of strongman and a turning point. He said he actually lost a lot of money this weekend cause of this drop and this was the point in his life where he officially quit his main job as a business person and 100% committed to strongman. His wife actually helped him through this time because he was seriously thinking about quitting strongman, but she convinced him to stay because even though it was a bad lift, he still did it.

Because he also has problem putting them down, everyone else lift, gets the down signal and slam the bar down, while Eddie still holds the weight for next 10-20 secs if you look at the 500kg and 501kg records, Eddie holds the weight up for decent amount of time while thor puts it down as soon as he gets the down signal just saying
