Since this episode aired, I have not found any mention of these large pieces of pottery found at the swamp. Have I missed something? Usually previous finds are discussed a week or two later, nothing that I can find about this pottery, how old, type of pottery, or the origin. Why?

Regarding any treasure, there is no "treasure" in the swamp. Mr. Fred Nolan was right in approaching the Oak Island mystery from an archaeological viewpoint. The swamp has become an archaeological dig/excavation to attempt to get answers to the Oak Island mystery (i.e. "who", "when", and "why").

@@jasonkorby Samuel Ball obviously found privateer/pirate treasure when he was farming the land that had been buried in shallow holes on the island for safekeeping. Privateers actually owned one or more lots on Oak Island after it was platted in 1762. They had large vessels and were commissioned by the king of England to plunder enemy ships in the Atlantic. However, "whatever it is" that was buried/concealed deep in the original Money Pit in the very distant past is something completely different.

EXPLANATION: The sea level surrounding Oak Island was markedly lower in the very distant past allowing for all the construction/engineering including the man-made (artificial) beach at Smith's Cove together with the structures buried deep beneath it and the box drains beneath said artificial beach. Even the cavern(s) deep beneath Oak Island were probably high and dry in the distant past. With the slowly-rising sea level over the past two millennium, everything is now underwater and inaccessible.

I agree. This show has gotten mundane and moves at a snail's pace which is frustrating. After all the hype about the Chappell Vault with the previous episode and also with this episode's Preview and all of a sudden the Chappell Vault is mysteriously elusive just like it was four seasons ago when they inadvertently pushed it deeper into the earth and didn't follow up on it, it makes me wonder how long it will be before they actively pursue it again by excavation. Or when they found that coin on lot 5 and they all looked at it, but we the viewer have to wait until next week to see any analysis of it. That could have been covered in this particular episode. This show is being dragged out for all it is worth. And finally, to end the show with the focus on the swamp where there absolutely is no treasure, it indicates that this show is no longer about finding treasure, but is an archaeological dig/excavation to get answers in regards to the Oak Island mystery (i.e. "who", "when" and "why"). The show is frustrating to watch.

But still you keep watching it, Mr.Woawoawoah.We all have to have at least enough patience to watch this seasons episodes, because we certainly don't have the money to help finance the Fellowship's search!

I'm really disappointed in myself that I've watched this show for years and yet every Tuesday I tune in to see if they have found anything. Its almost like going to a casino expecting to win and leaving with nothing ! Plus that dude with the metal detector and Australian accent... He's a nice guy but I think they have to bring him back to the local mental ward after shooting each episode. But I'm starting to wonder if there is any treasure at all. You gotta be realistic...how and why would pirates or anyone dig down approx. 200 feet down and set up booby traps. Alot of work for the time Era... I'm getting disappointed that this will end up being a disappointment. But I'll continue to watch and hope I'm wrong.

This show is highly-addictive. Nobody "dug down approx. 200 feet". It was originally a deep open sinkhole that somehow connected with the "then dry" caverns far below when the sea level was much lower in the very distant past. The "sinkhole" was backfilled after the fact from the bottom up to conceal what lie far below. I believe it is a tomb and the 90-foot stone was a makeshift Capstone for the tomb.

I don't mind the show but the constant narration is very, very annoying.
