She was the reason this song didn't become #1 at the Hot 100 Billboard charts in October 1989. Lovesong reached #2 and at the same week, Janet Jackson had a single that peaked the top charts for 4 weeks. I wished Lovesong could then steal her the #1 but it descended the next week to #11.
Everyone loves Robert Smith. Wonderful voice! Such an emotional and expressive man. Robert is a good person and is humble as it gets.

I remember seeing an ENTIRE 14 hrs of various bands playing at an all day concert. The Cure was headlining and I'd never seen them b4. I endured 90 degree sun from 10 am to 6pm. Got drunk, stayed awake thru the hang over and started my buzz again when they finally came on around midnight. I had listened to some seriously grade A bands at the time (the 90's) and when The Cure came on it sounded like they put a CD in and played it. No distortion, no feedback, no mess ups. PERFECT vocals PERFECT everything. I was BLOWN AWAY!!!!!! They still sound amazing 25+ yrs later.

How has his voice not suffered from “Disintegration” High Five myself
" So fly me to the moon. " ❤️
His voice never changed. So many male singers lose some of their voice as they get older, especially performing for 30-40 years. His is still so beautiful
Brilliant song... damn it’s been so long and it’s still so damn beautiful 01:29 That’s how real women dig this song... love to see Janet Jackson feeling this tune ❤️
Disintegration is one of the best albums ever. Wonderful from start to end.
He must have been taking care of his voice. His voice is still strong.
The Cure, the originators of alternative rock, before even the conception of the genre. I can guarantee the vocals here is all Robert Smith, no autotune required. Thoroughbreds like him don't need that garbage!!!!

A good friend told me how good The Cure was. I started to listen and now I know, they are excellent. Lovesong was written for his wife. His songs are very emotional and you can feel it deep on your heart. Thank you Robert for the beautiful and meaningful songs. I'm glad my ex girlfriend told me about them. I have all their albums now. So many good songs, I smile and I cry. Just beautiful !!!
I think the lyrics to this song, is one of the greatest romantic lyrics of all time.
That was an epic performance of a lifetime. Sublime Class A.

Physically he has aged, but his voice hasn't. Their music, however, is timeless . . .

From the "Disintegration" album. It was the soundtrack to my travels across Asia, 14 months spent backpacking from Bali to India. I hear this song and transports me back to riding the trains in India watching the landscapes go by as I listened to this in my walkman....
