That’s exactly what is wrong with some Americans, you think violence in the prison system is the answer. We should not have a prison system that condones violence and rape, no matter what the person did. There should not be an eye for an eye mentality in the justice system.

Erm, so... They had a 13-year relationship, and he was 36 and she was 28 at the time of the murder? So that's a 23 year old man hooking up with a 15 year old schoolgirl. Saying they met while she was at school is rather downplaying the creep-factor there.

I’ll never be convinced he actually cared for her, the thought of doing this to someone I love is incomprehensible. He’s evil and he ruined many lives because he couldn’t just move on. And he begged for her safe return, straight up evil. I truly hope he rots in hell and I hope the punishment there is a million times more agonizing then what he put this family through. Coward. It’s also truly amazing these idiots think they are smarter than the police. Like dude… they know you weren’t home and there are cameras everywhere. Because he never loved her in the first place. He looked at her like property he had ownership over and entitlement to, and when that slipped away from him, his emotional immaturity could not stand it. Unfortunately, this is most men. They don’t actually care about the woman and they care even less about the children. It is all about control and ownership. If you cannot wish someone well whether you are together or not, then you don’t actually love them.

I'm sure she was thinking about her kids though as she was being tossed off that bridge. I hope she is resting easy, knowing that her family stepped up to the plate to take great care of them. Thank God those fishermen were out there that night and called it in, cuz who knows if or when her body would have (ever) been recovered. I can't imagine the chills sent up their spines as well, hearing her screams as she was tossed off, and then later finding out she had a 119-pound boulder tied to and wrapped around her neck. And her poor son, knowing for certain that that rope and boulder in fact belonged to their dad; and all of the kids knowing what an evil scumbag he was that took their mother away from them. There is no doubt in my mind that as Elizabeth began to realize that Rudy intended to murder her, she pleaded with him to spare her life for the sake of the children. They were her world, and I truly believe her last thoughts were of them and her family. Her sister was right when she said Rudy is a monster. He is absolutely despicable. RIP, Elizabeth.

How horrifying what she had to go through on the night of her tragic death. Bless her heart! Thankfully those fishermen were there that night, that witnessed & heard everything & immediately called it in. My heart breaks for Elizabeth's family! However, they are absolutely incredible. They are a strong family, who sticks together no matter what. You can just tell. Those children who lost the most important people in the world to them, in such tragic circumstances, are going to need strength, guidance, & love. & they are the best people for that job! I can really feel that. I hope the kids are doing ok today. ❤❤

Rudy was most likely raised by a violent father he emulated. He's quite the common type, unfortunately. My neighborhood is full of guys like him. Machismo is considered ' manhood.' It's normal,if you know what I mean. Small wonder the kids join gangs to escape family abuse. Los Angeles is saturated with ' Rudy's.'

"If they feel"...bullshit reasoning. Maybe change some of these laws instead. The man's supposed to lose the right to his flesh and blood just because she changes her mind about him? The courses of multiple lives decided solely on a woman's whim? No wonder this society is going to shit.

I’m glad this heartless cretin got the sentence he did. Life in prison without the possibility of parole is a _way_ more brutal punishment than the death penalty. The death penalty is a quick shot in the arm and an easy death, the easy way out. A long life in a miserable little cage to think about what you’ve done and what you’ve lost is so much worse.

So evil to murder the mother of your children. This is just an abhorrent act and I hope he spends every day in his cell thinking about what he did. I hope the family find some peace in their hearts and eventually achieve a life full of joy again.
