The Crown Jewels: A Peek Inside the Jewel House

The Crown. The very symbols of power, wealth, majesty and royalty. You can’t be the King without the Bling. Let’s take a look at the 1500 year history of the British crown jewels. They have been washed away in the sea, stolen from a grave, melted down to make coins, sold off to pay princely debts, and pilfered from countries across the globe to end up on the heads of Britain’s Kings and Queens.

My request: A video on Queen Elizabeth II's brooches. She has so many jewels you can get a vast number of videos from them, and I'll happily watch them all, but her brooches seem to be where she most expresses herself, and expresses what she's trying to convey with every outfit. I'd love a video on their history and meaning.

So do I. An explanation of where they come from, who gave which to the queen, and when/where she wore them on specific occasions, intending which message exactly. For instance I learned today that the Queen wore a brooch given by the Obamas, during Trump’s state visit. I would love to see the brooch, as I didn't know the anecdote at the time. Those jewels have still so much to teach us!

What they mean is that your a slave/peon and she is your master. Keep on licking their asses while every taxpayer in Britain is stuck with a 100,000,000 bill to pay for their "life style". Oh, but they work so hard!!!!! I forgot. Have fun paying taxes for a health care system they have all but dismantled with people waiting 2 years to see a doctor. I bet that bitch NEVER waited an hour to see one of her fancy homeopathic doctors. Pretty soon all the pubs in Britain will close for good because of fucked up government priorities but the prols really don't need them...... OH, BUT THE JEWELS!!!!! I have never seen such blind, unquestioning, sycophantery in all my life as there is on this page. Grow a brain.

@@Edmonton-of2ec He banned theatre, Christmas, & enacted an unusually bloody war against the Irish. I'm not unaware of the man's flaws. But you can't compare him to the current queen, b/c Cromwell had the task of actually *ruling* a government, not just sitting on a gilded chair & cut ribbons. He's bound to screw up more often & said screw ups are going to have larger consequences. And despite his other flaws, he appears to have genuinely been against the institution of monarchy: despite the common image of him eagerly positioning his son as successor, it appears Cromwell spent many, *many* years without naming a successor despite strong pressure to do so. He only named his son Richard as heir near the very end of his life at a point when that pressure was the strongest. One would expect that, if he truly expected to be succeeded by his son in the monarchical fashion, he would associate his son in government early on as the kings did. Cromwell did not do this, & Richard Cromwell was only positioned to succeed when Cromwell was practically on his deathbed. Was this the mark of an ad-hoc military junta rather than an actual republic (or even a functioning government)? Yeah, pretty much. But considering that when the royals ruled things operated at nearly-equal level of disfunction, I have to give Cromwell some credit for his heart being in the right place at least some of the time.

That was great Lindsay! I've watched plenty of documentaries on the Crown Jewels but none have been so informative as yours but so easily understandable. Next, I think you should make a video covering the largest 20, 15, or 10 diamonds in the world. The Ko-i-noor, the Hope, The Orlov, etc...Thanks for sharing your videos.

Queen Victoria’s small crown was to replace the small crown of Queen Charlotte that was lost to the royal house of Hanover and which they still own. It is now called the Hanoverian Nuptial Crown. Also the globe on top of the crown is a monde not a mound.

You never disappoint!❣️💯 I'm just curious as to how some of those items got "lost"! Or is that a polite way of saying that they were stolen?! Just curious.... 👑⚔️📿😏

If I was William I would definitely use the modern crown and set it with lab grown diamonds to show off modern technology make those diamonds trendy and to not have any connotations with blood or stolen diamonds.
