I saw the purple one yesterday in Brighton. It completely changed my mind about the Bel Canto and that chime is very cute. The dial colour is fantastic, I couldn't believe how much the colour changes as you move it around the light.

Mine is september....

I've never ordered a watch on a wait list. Hell, I've only bought a few watches new. After seeing these last year I put a deposit down. One year, and several delays later I have mine. For anyone on the fence, the hype is absolutely justified. I don't think there is any watch that punches so high above its price point. The wait is totally worth it.

I have one in Cielo blue, just like in your video, and it’s amazing. The detail is astonishing, and it wears so comfortably. I agree that the chime complication is actually really useful - keeps me on track with meetings and my everyday to-do list

Agree completely with your assessment Britt!! I was fortunate enough to see the Bel Canto last fall at a New York City watch event and was able to pick up the Blue dial version. I love it! Always a conversation starter. For the 20th anniversary, perhaps a tourbillon? TAG broke the mold on lower priced tourbs. I wonder if CW might be looking to produce a reasonable quality swiss tourbillon made for less than $10,000 USD. Looking forward to 2024. Thanks for this great review!

I have a lot of time for Christopher Ward. I love the direct-to-consumer model no silly AD malarkey. C63 GMT was my first mechanical watch and now I've just picked up a Tudor BB54.

My second mechanic watch was a C60 Trident Pro 600. Such a good watch for the money. I’m eyeing the BB58 and P39 but I’d need a good reason to spend that kind of money. I’ve got a lot of budget mechanicals 😅

Great review, thanks 👍Glad you like the Bel Canto, I absolutely love mine and have since it arrived. Was lucky to get one of the original blue last November, and with my birth year serial (#66). Totally agree on the usefulness of the chime, it's great to have an indication of time passing through the day, and it still brings a smile when I hear it. Although you can turn it off, mine's been sitting chiming away quietly on the winder since arrival... that's over 6500 chimes and still going strong 😄It's also the one watch in my collection my wife actually loves 🤣

Auntie Britt!! I do love the Bel Canto, but I am not a fan of the current colors. I almost jumped into the 2nd release, after missing the initial green one. But I could not get into one of the colors offered. So I am patiently waiting to see the next color offerings. I do see Chrono24 has a green one for $8,000 USD. HAHA Anyway, great to see you back. I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but CW is doing some of the best priced luxury watches that arent just another Rolex or AP styled watch. They currently are my favorite watchmaker, for the Twelve, the Photorealism Moonphase, and the Bel Canto.

Hello Britt- I agree with the praise for the Bel Canto. I received my salmon/rose gold model a couple of months ago and it is an amazing watch. Sam from Casual Watch Talk does a great interview with Mike France about CW and their models.

I have a purple/titanium on preorder…expecting delivery November ‘23. Absolutely love it!

I hadn't noticed the fluff in your hair until you pointed it out 😅Also "well you bel-can'to" was pretty smooth, I shan't lie 👌 This isn't really the watch for me, but it's certainly something I can appreciate.. It looks wonderful, and the note of the chime is perfectly pleasant

I thought the dark blue was better and regretted missing it, but immediately ordered this cielo. Well I was wrong, the cielo looks stunning. Great video.

Christopher Ward is coming out with some beautiful time pieces. The Bel Canto is an achievement. The 12 is a sharp sports watch. The new moon phase that is set to be released is absolutely stunning. Well done by the CW team. I cant wait to see what they come out with next.

OMG, i've been looking at this watch for a long time thinking about buying one !!!! I have never seen the " bird " in the chime. Now I love this watch.

The bel canto is next on my list. Already got a c65 dune gmt limited edition ( no 1 of 200) and a c63 gmt limited edition. Love them both. The bel canto looks amazing. Much better in real life I'd imagine

I placed an order for the Cielo at the start at the year and was scheduled to get it by December. Unfortunately, CW pushed the date back to March 2024… Stings a little when I saw on forums people already receiving theirs. Still patiently waiting though! Great video as always!

Still waiting for delivery of mine. At least three emails so far from CW customer service about the production delays. Hopefully they stick to their current promised delivery date.

Good info in here, but UGH; now I wish I did and didn’t know about CW’s 20th anniversary because now I have a decision to make based on having this knowledge! I’ve been on the pre-order list for the Canto for about 8 months now, and as you advised “just stay on the list” - that’s exactly what i was planning, but now knowing about the 20th, they will undoubtedly be rolling out something very very cool so now I don’t know about keeping my current order. I love and hate this watch addiction and sickness, it’s a real disease!

AHHH IM SOOOOORREY!!!! I was relying on people not watching until the end! 😝 but I really think they’ll release something special to celebrate! It feels like CW has been going from strength to strength. I can’t wait to see what they release!

I mentioned this before and am waiting for your opinion on this. I was on the waiting list for this watch, but I changed my mind when I saw the accuracy specs of +/- 20 seconds a day. The watch could be off by 10 minutes in a month. That is almost 8 times less accurate than Rolexes and Pateks. The quality of the internal movement is more important to me than just how a watch looks. It would be a big help if you also discussed accuracy in your reviews. People like me would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Britt.

It’s a movement that can be regulated and so I think if the accuracy is indeed that far out (though I doubt it) it could relatively easily be brought into tighter tolerances.

@watchpapi Unfortunately, it is at +/- 20 seconds per day at its optimum setting. It is in the specs, even on Britt's video. Interestingly, the other models of Christopher Ward are more accurate at +/- 4 seconds a day. It is the quality of the movement.

@@noneofus007 I know it’s in the specs but the specs are worse case scenario, not best! So you’ll often receive a watch well within the stated tolerances. Edit: and if not, and it bothers you, as I said, a watchmaker could probably improve it for you.

Great review as always. Lovely looking watch. I suppose a minute repeater was entirely out of the question, and as such I can't help wonder if a mechanical alarm might have been better than an hourly chime. A mechanical alarm seems like one of the more useful but less seen complications.

Great thing and I would agree: once an hour chime is very useful! Bravo CW!

Brittany… I’ve watched several reviews on this creative timepiece… enjoyed your take on its design, history and even taking time for a momentous Dad joke (pun). The Salmon dial I feel is the most legible and brings out the brilliance in the design and finishing. Appreciated the review.

That light blue looks awesome

I’ve got a purple one on order set for delivery later this year. To say it’s “anticipated” is an understatement - I’ve forgone other watch purchases because I’m waiting to see how much I enjoy this and how much it’s going to eff up my rotation by becoming a daily wear.

With the sequencing - first the C1 then the 12 as halo models followed by solid moves with more "common" models like the Dune, Aquitane and Trident - CW is really showing that they know what they're doing.

I love that light blue coloured dial. Personally i think its a bit much with a light blue strap as well but reckon it would look lovely with a mid brown leather strap which for some reason is not paired with this version. Maybe its me that likes odd colour combos.

Keep this coming. Hope this helps with your viewership. Algoes and all.

One of my fellow watch, collecting friends is in the watches, like this… Also willing to spend considerably more than me… He purchased this watch as soon as it was available… I ward around for one day, and found myself wanting to wear it for longer, but I begrudgingly gave it back. It’s not actually a minute repeater, but it’s pretty awesome nonetheless…

Who said minute repeater? Always marketed as a passage de sonnerie from day0. And having owned a minute repeater they are overrated, embarrassing over indulgent chiming that sounds great in ads/reviews/on paper but is wanky in the office or in a social setting after the first time. Passage sonnerie is more discrete which is much more in keeping with those with taste.

Mine is hopefully here in April 24 in purple just for something different.

The only problem i have with the bel canto is the colour. The blue was stunning, green is my favourite colour and both of them are now gone. The new colour just don't reasonate with me unfortunatly. I really hope they will make the blue available again, maybe a different kind of blue but still blue, then i would definetly buy one

I'm in the same boat. The original blue is easier to wear on the daily and I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat if it was available. The new colours are too garish in my opinion. The only other option is black, but that's too boring.

Great video, I’m about to order the purple one, but just holding off a little while to see if, like you said they might pull something out of the bag for the twenty year anniversary, plus it’s expensive for me so I want to see how they hold up quality wise, I have the C60 sapphire already so no rush. So I was at New York WindUp today. So cool meeting all the peeps behind the brands. On my way out, Christopher Ward booth is there. Couple really nice people representing the company. I ask, where is The Twelve. I saw the Bel Canto it looked lovely but not so interested. Anyway, walk over the the twelve. This youngish fellow, well, he’s the designer. The designer of apparently the full line of CW watches. He has a cute story about the Bel Canto taking so long to design he was kind of bored with it by the time it was produced - but came around, he was wearing one on his wrist. So I’m checking out the Twelves. Actually pretty nice, saw your review. But I’d already done a fair amount of damage at the fair… so I say my goodbyes to this bloke, and I’m like, “wow, you’re such a talented gentleman” - he gives me a look, and says, “you don’t need to tell me that.” I. Was. Stunned. OMG 😂 I did a double take to check his expression, like WTF. Nope, he said it. No smile, no thanks for coming by. It was the last hour of the three day event. But wow, just wow. Good thing evvvveryone else at the event was supes gracious. Cheers!

Brittany you are so funny you completely nailed it on why this is the most useful complication for us everyday humans not popping back n forth across continents for meetings. Just put down a deposit for the Nero and so psyched.

I really want one! But I have a smaller wrist than yours, and not being to try it on first deters me from ordering one. But if I was to order one, it’ll be the purple one!!!

I know this is not relevant to the video but I had to stop and go back to see if Brittany really had an espresso cup sat on an unstable pile of other stuff just next to her left elbow. Turns out my perspective was off - hah! Good video and nice to see a watchmaker doing something interesting. So bored of Rolex and all the other doing yet another self histo-stroke from their "glory" days.
