This myth doesn't make sense at all, some people decided it was Opposite Day? Lmao World Yes nod-> has positive intent, is continuous, person has eye contact Bulgarian No nod -> Quick, dismissive, often closing eyes. Often only one nod up or down, not continuous. Up nod is more dismissive, Down nod is more like a humble "no thanks". World No shake -> Quick, dismissive, often closing eyes quickly, almost like a toddler refusing food if done exaggurated Bulgarian Yes shake -> Has positive intent, is continuous, person has eye contact The problem is that most people perform these body language fast and as a shorthand, you don't really notice the differences unless you really look.
