All i‘m trying to say is, if the average „grunt“ space wolf can resist the corruptive influence from being in the warp, then i trust that someone of Logans caliber will be able to resist such a small amount of temptation as a „simpel“ higher demon. Especially if the Relictors where able to pretty much drown themself in these types of artifacts and also stayed loyal. Also i didn‘t knew the dark wolfs where a thing. They look pretty cool, thanks for the info.

I'm under the impression that while Khorne may not care from whence the blood flows, but he'd prefer it falls into his goblet than on his boots.

I don't think it's physically possible for a demon of Khorne to be "subtle" or "manipulative"in anyway shape or form. Unless for some reason Khorne forged the axe with a demon of Tzeentch in for some strange reason.

Samus tells a different story. Slow whispers of madness that teases people into blood-lust are more than possible for Khorne; the first step on the road to the eight-fold path. In the moments of mindless battle, at the heights of glory when the blood runs thick and skulls piled high, it only takes a single second for the unbridled rush of battle to begin pulling you into his service. It's also fairly clear that Khorne both likes, desires, and occasionally corrupts the wolves. Whenever a Space Wolf does turn, they almost always fall to Khorne, he's also directly assisted them through tainted weapons.

That is true, something's not right with that, even a "young" rune priest would have noticed that something's wrong with the axe and would recommened to seal the weapon until new orders

I nearly choked in anger at the insinuation that his actions on armagheddon were to spite the inquisition. While there is no love lost between the space wolves and the inquisition to think that Grimnar would lower himself to such a thing is pure blasphemy

Logan only had the axe for a short period so unless the axe was immediately influencing him ( which I highly doubt ) then this was pure chad space wolf decision making

I've collected Space Wolves since the second edition (I still have an original copy somewhere, held together with bull clips and sellotape!) and my main reason for doing so had always been Logan's attitude. A barbaric, honourable, champion that stands between mankind and its greatest of threats. Either from without or within the Imperium. The children of Russ have always been amongst the best of the Space Marine Chapters and the way they've been treated recently both annoys me and thrills me. The great thing about 40K is that things are always changing. That said, while I disagree whole heartedly that Logan should be corrupted, the idea that the Wolves of Fenris are an all but broken and infected by the curse of the wolfen and possibly being lead by a future traitor is exciting. Setting the stage for what we know must be coming, the wolf-time and the return of Leman Russ, perhaps to save the Chapter, or maybe to destroy it once and for all...

I mean, the fact is Grimnar has become too popular for His Spiritual Liege's taste, and he will probably come up with a bullshit excuse to eliminate the entire chapter from 40K. He will probably do it with all founding chapters until everyone plays ultramarines (everyone being him and 2 other employees cause everyone else will stop playing by the time his bullshit gets enacted).

While I don't like the idea of the spacewolves going to chaos it would be cool to see a civil war within the chapter with the wolf lords taking sides between Logan and maybe Ragnar or one of the other lords resulting in a portion of the space wolves assaultinf the fang (one of the most highly defended fortresses in the galaxy) and the only thing that's stops the fighting and the continued corruption is the arrival of Leman Russ or possibly Bjorn

I mean i see what you mean but a lot of the books it shows each company as being very independent but also loyal so if grimnar started being chaosy it could be interesting to see how each company chooses sides anf fight against the warriors that they respected like imagine ragnar is going through the fang and comes up to arjac and he has to go through him to get to grimnar or lukas (whos book is really good btw) luring a section of the grimnar faction into a trap but instead of it being fatal it takes them out of the fight for a bit because none of them really want to kill each other

Logan Grimnar: Risks his chapter being declared traitors and wiped out by the inquisition to save innocent civilians Also Logan Grimnar: Doesn't do the same for Fenrisian civilians who are more important to the chapter I think you might be onto something

I’m pretty sure it comes down to the fact that the space wolves weren’t strong enough to resist and that Magnus had purposefully spread corruption throughout Fenris and that this was a more severe case then with Armageddon

I loved that scene in The Emperor's Gift where the inquisitors come before Bjorn and pee themselves: ‘God-Emperor?’ The Dreadnought made the sound of gears slipping, grinding together. From the booming augmetic tone, I assumed it was supposed to be laughter. Love this theory, it contributes to thickening of the general 41k plot. Well done :D

There's nothing that says the axe of morkai was a daemon weapon. It was a Chaos weapon yes, but we're never told it has a daemon in it, and Khorne has created runes and items that are strongly anti magical without sentient daemon in them. Besides the Rune priests are really good at spotting Chaos corruption and have plenty of rites for exorcism, so they probably just removed the corruption whilst keeping the blades special anti psyker power.

Khorne probably leaned back in his Skull Throne and steepled his fingers saying, "Just as planned!"

This sounds like your theoretical heresy story. (One of my favorite videos.)

The axe is possibly a double daemon weapon. While there is no guarantee that there is or was a daemon bound in the blade, the fact that khorne himself forged it makes it demonic in nature. If there was a daemon in it, it was most likely exorcism during the reforging. However, the fact that it's original for was created by khorne, was possibly allow it to be a direct conduit for his influence. So my theory is that khorne himself has been influencing Logan.

I could have swore Remilez already did this theory.

Interesting idea, although some of the “evidence” seems a little iffy. I will admit I could see it as a way to lead into Wolftime and the return Russ which could be very interesting. (Although I am biased since the Wolves are my favourite Chapter)

Doesnt Fenrisian Rune Energy do things to warpbeings? In Fury of the Abyss the Wolf Guard Pack Leader was the only dude (bar the thousand son) to hurt the war predators.

Are there any chapters not known for their brutality? I feel like that would be a smaller list.

What if in the reforging process, the blade was almost corrupted, but this would be a corruption against khorne so instead of having the negative influences of khorne it has the positives, so the ideals of having martial strength, honour and loyalty that all great warriors will have. So it might have increased these ideals within grimnar making him more easily accepting of killing those who threaten and kill those he fought with.

As a Space Wolf player for some 22 years, I don't see any way possible for Grimnar to be corrupted. As far as why he suddenly allowed the Fenrisian tribes to be butchered after having risked his own chapter for the citizens of Armageddon, you bring up a good point in your video: this would condemn the Wolves to death as a Chapter without the Primaris. In effect, I think this is a case of GW writing in its own justification for why the Wolves - a notoriously prideful and independent chapter based in its sagas and traditions - would accept this drastic change to the entire fabric of their chapter, from tactics all the way down to legacy and identity and heritage of the Chapter itself. "Oh, see, the Wolves (and therefore Wolf players) need to include Primaris in their armies because they can't sustain themselves anymore with such a small recruiting pool."

Hiya 40K theory! I have always enjoyed your work and recently saw one of your videos on the prequel to Warhammer 40k. Intrigued by the subject, may I recommend a potential video on the film "Event Horizon"? Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and starring Laurence Fishburne & Sam Neill. The Plot of the story goes something like "the Event Horizon, a spacecraft that vanished years earlier, suddenly reappears, a team is dispatched to investigate the ship. " The film had always fascinated me because I have always thought the event itself was a prequel way into the infancy of the dark age of technology and the story describes mankind's first experimentation with warp drive and totally clueless to the horror it contains. I think it's a bit of a plot hole that the Grey Knights didn't detect the deamonic blade to begin with. Then again, Logan may not be slowly succumbing to corruption of Khorne, he may slowly be losing a battle with the Curse of the Wolfen. Especially since it was a battle against Tzeetch forces.

It’d be kinda neato from a story standpoint if old Loggy did wind up following Khorne, but I don’t think it’s likely to happen. All kinds of folks in the imperium use daemon weapons and wind up staying loyal, I don’t see why they would let this one corrupt such an important character in the setting unless Geedubs has some kind of chaos/wolves upsale scheme set.

I can imagine a sitcom of logan and the demon axe telling him to turn to chaos and logan telling it to fuck offf

There is a Grey Knight book called Gift of the Emperor. It talks about a Grey Knight Account of the First War for Armageddon, and the events that led up to the Months of Shame that followed. The Space Wolves and Logan Grimnar appear in the book quite often.

Kaldor Draigo too has a weapon that was forged from a former demon weapon so it can be that it is a valid option to use these materials.

Yes but that was when it was reforged from the remains of M'kar's weapon, and the daemonc entity was driven out of the original blade by the Grey Knights.

Nah, Grimnar is simply too stubborn and pig-headed to fall to chaos.

I think the fact that primaris marines likely come from any word but fenris and heresy era space wolves came at least in part from terra, i think its more that fenrisians have a much higher success rate of accepting the canis helix, and not exclusive. i know what their codex says but other items in lore lead to a different answer.

I think the recording and sigils and seals placed upon the axe will stop or felt corruption

and that last line is why khorne will never be destroyed unless there is no more blood to be spilled in anyway anywhere.

They did explain why he allowed the extermination of their Fenrisian locals: 1) Fenris was already weak from the Dark Angel's being retarded and attempting to massacre their allies (As they are known for doing) 2) They had brought the Wulfen back to Fenris and he saw them as the key for finding Russ. He hoped that by allowing the Grey Knights to kill the locals, he would be able to keep the Wulfen. (This worked) 3) He had a plan for a mass population program for the world by introducing fertility drugs into the waters of Fenris in order to try and force the locals to breed rapidly.

The question is why the rune priests would let him wield a Daemon weapon. Sounds like a hole in the theory to me.

With Roboute back again, it'll only be a matter of time. I'm guessing another bunch of chapters will fall to chaos as more primarchs are restored and we'll have a second heresy. Roboute in that regard has been a perfect understudy to the Emperor.

The Vlka Fenryka have always questioned the authority of organizations like the Inquisition. Even Leman Russ has a long history with his sort of anti authoritarian attitude, so it only makes sense that they naturally operate unusually outside the bounds of any set of rules presented by other entities in the Imperium. I feel like if there was any source of Chaos within their ranks it would've manifested already, especially with what you have been proposing with Logan Grimnar

LORD CAEDUS LIVES!! He may become a Werewolf.

Everything is possible in the 40k universe but it also states in the Wolves Fluff that the people of Fenris only aspiration in life is to become a sky warrior for the all father. As someone with 11,000 points of space wolves I hope they don't go down the path of traitor legion. Also I have a plague marine army already which is why I hope they do not fall to chaos.

Couple of thoughts after this: Is it just me or you kinda start to wonder how much Chapter Masters have demonic weapons I know papa smurf has his fisting thing, You would think after what happened to his brother Rowboat Girlyman would have put that as a rule down for his book so no one gets corrupted through weapons like those. We all agree that Tzeentch is to blame for the old wolf's decision. So he can make the Primaris Marines look better to drive up their sales.

I was leery of the idea for most of the video, but the fact that he let the Grey Knights purge his own people when he was willing to go to war against them under almost the same circumstances before is suggestive.

I don't think he can be corrupted to Khorne, he's already War Santa of 40K.
