Drew Peterson's entire police force should be stripped of their posts. Because of their laxity, incompetence and always protecting their buddy, they have caused Stacy's death. If they had investigated the drowning and followed up on the constant threats, this would never have happened and Stacy would still be here. Ridiculous police work and certainly not to be trusted. They're just looking to protect their buddies within the force.

Remember this is STILL GOING ON all around the world. A lot of - rich famous or man/woman in power” are still hurting/killing and getting away with it. It’s too easy for us to comment our opinions AFTER the sentencing are made and seeking who’s to blame . It is pretty much harder for all of us to start thinking about - what can we/I do to help people who is suffering/struggling in a situation like these 2 women did ? A living nightmare of abuse and trauma. Victims of on-going violence/abuse need help. To begin a safe place to run away too for them self and all of the children with them. If you REALLY WANT TO HELP A VICTIM , start to support a local shelter/hiding facility. They need money and workers. The addresses are of course secret but to START HELPING we can support them with our money. I’m old and poor but I support the shelter” for women and children in my community with little money every month. These women often need to runaway without taking anything with them. Only clothes is what they wear and same with their children. (clothes shoe’s diapers food and a safe place to sleep are top-priority) they don’t have money. We can all together give a little support. Some women and children WILL SURVIVE and become FREE if we help them ❤️👍❤️ I still remember my first marriage. Young, short and size xs. Running barefoot crying with bruises and black eye carry 18 months old son crying into my chest…. Thanks to all people who helped us (police included who took us to a local shelter, a secured place to stay) we got away from the violence. I believe in HOPE and we can help others by giving them hope and support to seek help and offer them a safe place to stay for a while. ❤️ I apologize for my poor English. Started to learn when Covid-19 hit the world. I’m little bit old. Living in Sweden. May God Bless Our Day 🌟🙏🌟 Have a GREAT life folks ! Grandma 👵🏼 in Sweden. 🤗 🕊️

it is easy think the first woman is bad compared the husband so the next woman will think will be treated better and see the other woman as enemy. Women are not natural friends to each other on the opposite than men that use to cover themselves for their flaws and faults. The first one is the threat so has no interest whatever happens to her. It is cold but it is psychology. She was blinded for the honeymoon phase with Drew and having children with him.

Ah yes, the "buddy system". My then husband was a close friend of the local police near where we lived. He played golf with them in Spain every year. When I reported him for physical abuse, they tried to downplay what I said and most definitely supported my then husband. I'll never forget how trapped and frightened I felt by the realisation that I couldn't expect help from the very people I had been raised to respect and to expect would give me protection. When I finally managed to leave my husband and get a divorce, I felt as if I was also divorcing from those toxic police who bandied around him. I lost respect for that bunch of losers. I was one of the lucky ones. Stacey was not. She, and her others like her, have lost their lives because of the buddy system at work in the police force. It simply is unacceptable and should be taken to task each and every time.

Of course I was subjected to gaslighting, manipulation, abuse and a (still ongoing smear campaign even though we are divorced). He even stole my friends from me with his lies. His colleagues (other police officers - some of whom are my friends husbands and are decent guys usually) covered for him even though other women came forward with evidence of abuse and harassment against him. Like someone said... It is a brotherhood☹️ I am happy that I got out unscathed physically.

I don't see anyone defending children who shoot their classmates in schools, even if they are 14-15 years old. You make bad decisions, you pay for them. If she didn't make the bad decision to hurt someone who hadn't done her any harm, she wouldn't end up in a situation she couldn't get out of. You can't equate her with her victim who really was put in a situation she couldn't get out of. Her victim did no harm, but she did, repeatedly. Unfortunately the statistics of self-reported domestic violence from police against their families is something around 40%--so I'm not surprised Drew's colleagues covered for him. Too many of them were statistically harming their partners, as well. Also, there's a disgusting amount of people in these comments blaming Stacey, as if she wasn't a literal minor who was taken advantage of and groomed by a man nearly old enough to be her grandfather. Victim-blaming is disgusting, and she didn't "deserve" to die any more than Kathy did. Neither of them deserved to be hurt by such a horrible man.

2007- Illinois - A police officer’s wife was found dead in a bathtub and years later his Next wife went missing. The police officer was Drew Peterson a charming decorated Cop. Kathleen Savio was Drew Peterson’s third wife and was found dead in the bath tub as she was going through an acrimonious divorce from Drew Peterson. Police questioned the new young partner, 20 year old Stacy Peterson as well as questioned forty six year old police Sargent Drew Peterson. The Coroner declared Kathleen’s death as an accidental drowning. The Coroner went along with Drew’s story and the police did nothing to embarrass their police mate. Stacy Peterson revealed to two people that Drew Peterson killed Kathleen Savio and two days later Stacy disappeared. Then next Kathleen’s body was exhumed for further investigation and Stacy was still missing and her family believed she was murdered. Drew Peterson meanwhile was baking in publicity and looked happy and claimed steadfastly that he had nothing to do with the murders of his two wives.

I have a hard time having empathy for the last wife… She recognized he was evil yet stayed with him anyway. I will attribute her youthful innocence to her stupid choices.

It's really not like that, the abusive men might be more than women but there are logical reasons for that. One reason could be because men are physically stronger, any kinda physical engagement automatically becomes a male abuse or assault case, even though it might be the woman starting it or doing it. I have seen it with my own eyes, friend of mine was getting beaten by his girl friend for like a minute straight and when he pushed her to disengage, she fell, called 911 and had him arrested. The police simply smiled and made jokes when he was saying she was the one beating me. The only reason the let him go shortly after was because there were few of us insisting on him being innocent

Lindsay, good you asked, because I am going to give you the truthful answer. And the answer, believe it or not, is in the Word of God wherein God clearly testifies against man and exposes him as both the enemy of God and enemy of his fellowman, the woman. The mindless oppression or persecution of woman and her accursed subjugation to him, never mind what nationality, race, tribe or clan, since the time of mankind's fallen first father, the very first man, is the accursed legacy men have inherited from him and live by to this date. The exceptions are only found amongst the truly Godly who are symbolized as 'the woman and her offspring with the God-ordained and divine ENMITY with the Enemy or Enemies of God whether they are the fallen angels or fallen men.' (Gen 3:15b). Your ignorance is not surprising for thus is the case with almost all women since the time of Eve, the very first woman. For she remained ignorant of all his treacherous deceptions towards her - his unfaithfulness both towards God and towards her (Isa 43:27); how he had with his very first words to her (Gen 2:23) he had not only distorted the Gospel of God's Salvation for mankind (compare it with Matt 26:26-29) but also changed the God-ordained name he was to share with her (compare with Gen 5:2). That he should then go on to distort the very Commandment God had entrusted to him as he passed it on to her was but inevitable (compare Gen 2:16-17 with Gen 3:2-3) as also refusing to intervene even though he was right there with her (Gen 3:6) even as the crafty devil was targeting her particularly on account of her obvious ignorance (Gen 3:1); even disregarding & disobeying God to break the holy Covenant with God (Hos 6:7) to eat of the forbidden fruit and choosing Death instead of Life despite God's faithful forewarning - the reason Death is the evil scepter of power with which he furthers his evil dominions on earth till date and shall continue to do so until at last at the Second Comingof the Lord He shall Himself bring them to their deserved END. Is it any wonder then that unrepantant as he remained till the very end of his accursed life, he should then go on to not only blaming the poor, hapless & utterly ignorant woman but also God Himself!! (Gen 3:12) An accursed legacy all mankind evidently live by to this date. And rebellious as ever he continued in the same vein to plant yet another of his blasphemous lies and misleading all mankind (all his descendants to follow) in to seeking the Prophesied Messiah in his own accursed seed (Gen 3:20). Refer for example Gen 5:29. I hope you are able to understand and acknowledge the Truth at last. As regards Carol's counter accusation to your query, what did she expect anyway of women as descendants of the fallen man - like their male counterparts having been born of his accursed seed? Haven't they already caught up with all his crimes? How long indeed before they follow suit in the only way the men introduce them into!!! (eg. Hos 4:14)

Very unfortunate and sad. I just turned 39 and I seriously remind myself every morning that as a man I need to always put my family first. I have a 7 and 18 year old (step son) that not only saved my life personally but that I have a responsibility to teach them what it means to be a man and do the right thing even when no one is around
