    This series of hand breakdowns was excellent. If there's one thing I got out of all the videos, it's considering the range of the opponent's hand when deciding what to do on later streets, and also the concept of protecting one's own range. Really good analysis of everything, including both wins and losses. Thanks!

    This was a great call. If he has the cards, you stop him from doubling up and now he is really short stacked. This is an easy way to lose more money. I think he folds to the raise and even if he didn't, you are in the best shape.

    Checking is always a great move to strengthen your ranges. Also, it is a great way to save yourself a bunch of chips if your opponent check-raises you. I've enjoyed the Super High Rollerbowl series here, a little sad it's coming to an end now. But I am ecstatic for the WSOP vlogs to begin! Will be tuning in daily for you Daniel! OH YEAH!!!!

    Ive made this comment before. But i absolutely love how you explain in the first hand that it may not have been the best idea to raise because the majority of hands that would call a raise from that position would be better. Im no pro, but I also believe that if you raised against his pair of 9s he would have folded. Thank you again for the clear and consise way you explain the logic behind your hands.

    Poker is pretty incredible. If Petrangelo went all in with his 96 on the turn, or maybe even on the river, I'd guess Daniel would call, but after a very long time of consideration. Fantastic series, it dilutes GTO in a very, very consumable way.

  • @mero40k
    @mero40k Жыл бұрын

    Aside from being protected, checking turn IP caps your range and will induce a lot of bluffs. You have all the blockers here, easy to feel pretty safe about a free card. The only time I wouldnt worry about protecting your checking range is in larger fields/pools. Youre the man, gl this summer.

    Fully agree with the explanation. This is what tournament strategy looks like. Cash strategy would raise this. If anyone is disagreeing with the analysis they might be looking at it like a cash player.

  • @ThePodgeiscool

    I agree that your logic is 100% sound! Where is disagree is what his range looks like on the river. When he uses a bigger size than he did, I agree he has all the strongest hands that will beat you when you raise. But with 2/3 pot I think you can discount a lot of the straights, full houses and trips. I play mostly cash games so the meta could be different for tournaments! And great series! Hope you keep this up! 💪

    A lot of the time people think of these hands as the viewer. We can see the whole cards. So our views are heavily skewed. Daniel is 100% correct that raising here isn't worth the squeeze. You're either getting called by a bigger hand thus losing more chips, or you're getting a fold. So it's the same as calling anyway.

    It is always tough to play a short stack HU vs a big stack. When Nicky P bets the river, what is he trying to do with his 9? Is this a value bet or a blocking bet? Betting allows Daniel to get away from his bluffs at no additional loss. Perhaps it would be better for him to check and pick up chips from all Daniel's missed draws.

    One thing to add about the call on the river with J7 is what is the chance a raise to be called? After all, why would you risk your chips if not to earn more? But since he is betting and you hope he will have either 8 or 9, will he call a raise with 8/9? Almost never with his short stack. So, risking chips with zero chance to be called from a hands you beat, doesn't make sense.

    I see this as a really disciplined decision and a confidence in closing this tournament out.
