The Colleges of Law is committed to providing accessible information about public policy to the citizens it directly affects.
Last year The Colleges of Law hosted a series of three virtual debates about propositions on the November ballot, including Proposition 16: Repeal Proposition 209 Affirmative Action Amendment.
In this “postgame debate recap,” Matt Nehmer, Ph.D., president of The Colleges of Law, catches up with Dr. Renee Fraser, CEO of Fraser Communications, who argued “Yes” on Proposition 16 during the debate, and Dr. Richard Sander, law professor at UCLA, who argued “No.”
On November 3, a majority of California citizens voted against Prop 16, differing from the results of the poll during our initial debate. Now, Dr. Nehmer and the speakers discuss the reasons why voters went against this proposition and where they see the issue going next.
