+Chelsea Lowery That is your opinion just like this is mine... You don't know that they were a couple or not. Yeah, they are both married. So what? Are you naive enough to believe couples don't cheat? They were successful before? They both struggled and both have not obtained the success before or since their pairing. When I say money and success were an issue, I didn't mean they were fighting over a $5 bill. Success brings pressures because the machine gets bigger, venues get bigger and with that so does the pressures from it all. This doesn't even touch on the pressures that exist to write material that even comes close to their debut releases. Now, you stupid, little bitch know it all, does this make any more sense to you? But only a couple of months prior. They were almost done with a Euro tour but had some huge fight and cancelled the last four dates (and were diligent in refunding all ticket money). I usually don't care about the personal lives of "famous people", actors and musicians, etc., but I've had to study this a little bit because they were so unique in how magically their voices fit together (and pretty decent songwriting FOR those voices, too). Joy had her husband and child on tour with them, JPW was alone and missing his home, wife and kids. A disagreement about the immediate future probably precipitated the final breakup. JPW is professional enough to tough out four shows no matter how unhappy he was, but it's possible Nate and Joy wanted to "strike while the iron was hot" and commit to a larger tour of larger venues immediately after they got back to the States. Maybe she and Nate, as manager and co-star, wanted to pull rank or something and JP saw another option: Bail. As for their history "together"...Joys' denials of an affair are more deflections than denials. She says her relationship with her husband wasn't strong when she first got together w/ JP. The lyrics of "The One That Got Away" flatly state her regret that the attraction didn't remain merely "in my mind"...so yeah, something happened. Maybe just once, maybe during one of their mini-tours of small venues, just the two of them. Aaaaand, not to be too sleazy, but that would fit the timeline of her becoming pregnant after 8 childless years w/ her husband. I know, I know...that's sleazy, but there it is. She DID get back with Nate, and had a baby and the whole dynamic somehow changed and bam! Breakup. Sad story.

@@megatrollificus Dear Brad! For me there is still a dark secret in this separation, to which you may have a key and a solution. We have their official statement "internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition“, but I feel it is definitely not the true reason. “Differences of ambition?” Can be healed by a hiatus. In my eyes, JP revealed that he was wounded personally, as he publicly expressed hatred and contempt for Joy on the occasion of his 2 speeches of thanks for the 55 and 56 Grammys. So I think it is a personal disruption. From your comments, I suppose you know them personally. This leads to my question: Can you help as a personal friend? With kind regards Rainer Winz
