John Shipton struck me as well informed, well spoken and invested not only in his son's interests but also those of broad society. So why is this the first time that I have seen and heard him? In fairness some print enterprises have quoted him but his personality is (surprise) best revealed in person. Thanks to Chris Hedges and RNN for bringing this important guest to my lounge. I also learned the word adumbrate so my thanks for that too;)

I know Julian's spirit is strong. The strength in the people who support Julian will keep him alive. There will be a time when the world is ready to embrace Julian again and these criminals will have to face their crimes. He will have his second coming.

They never do. They were happy to leave Australian citizens to rot in Guantanamo Bay and in refugee camps in the Middle East (including children). They won't lift a finger to help any ordinary Australian citizen detained without just cause in either the US or the UK. Worse, they will cheerfully repeat whatever propaganda the US spouts about any ordinary Australian citizen the US has decided they don't like. And, once upon a time, they were perfectly happy to provide Nazi war criminals with safe haven.

Australian must and will defend the cause of Julian Assange, just as the people all over the world have to join is this battle for justice. The wrong must be right once and for all and it belongs to the people at large to lead the fight since it belongs to the people to carry such a task. The system cannot do it, the power is with the people, it is just a question of awareness, organization and agitation, the state is powerless when the people decide to organize to act resolutely. The position of journalism is also in question since the main media remains silent to serve the interests of the oligarchs and the financial system world wide which is corrupted and act against the rightful demands of the people for justice and a progressive and fair outlook. The story of Julian Assange and his struggle is the story of the people themselves, our struggle to abolish a system which has only negativity to offer to humanity. Julian Assange will win at the end simply because it cannot be in any other way short of witnessing the crumbling down of the all social structure.
