Hi Chris! I am a life long jazz musician and never paid too much attention to Roger. But man...I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this interview. I had no idea about any of his background and what a great human being he is. Those of us in the music world who try to let people know about the reality of things really risk our careers and sometimes a lot more. I have traveled internationally for the last 2 decades and can tell you...I am ashamed many times when i have to take out my US passport. People look at me with HATE many times i tell you! I have lost many friends for touring in China! It is truly unreal how much ignorance there is. So now I mostly just play and get out to the next gig to continue my life, but....Its super tiring dealing with this as a musician and trying to even let people into my mind, to know my opinion about war and what the US does in this world! I am grateful to you in so many ways. I have watched you for a long time now, just to keep my mind in peace knowing that not everyone is totally corrupt and brainwashed. This interview gave me another reason to be at peace in the world and have a little more healing from the battles. My family has a long history of activism as well. My cousins were tortured in South America. Jailed. My uncle's persecuted by government police and military for going to Cuba back in the 70's and etc etc. So you can imagine why I listen to you. Not from anger...but from a place where I can find peace in my heart. To deal with the condition we find ourselves in. And to know I am not alone. Thank you again. And many big hugs. P

@Josip Lilić No on a human level I have been impressed with Roger all my life. Yeah each small candle lights a corner of the dark but only faithful following of Jesus Christ saves ones soul.
Two of my favourite people in the world, Chris Hedges and Roger Waters together? Such a treat! Thank you both for all you do! You are such an inspiration and a great source of solace in these dark times we're living in.

Thank you both so much. I was born in 1970. I have listened to - The Wall- just now and I am getting chills by thinking how history truly repeats itself continuously and how short people’s memory is. Thank you both for being who you are. Never stop. You give me hope!😢
Much respect to Mr. Waters. I don't know his music but as a man he's a credit to humanity. ☮️

Can you imagine how many countless of millions of minds this man has touched and opened. How many fans of him have passed away, and how many new fans are going to carry his absolutely 💯 perfect work. Think I've shed a 😢 writing this.
Watching it for the third time and just as emotional as the first time...thanks a thousand times Chris and Roger. A relief in such painful times!
My god, whenever I get filled with rubbish from main stream media , these guys and others like them give me comfort and peace to realise that we are not all corrupt, and there is still hope for humans

@Leonard Beaudin Now he is educating the masses yet his popular song " The Wall," ", we dont need no education... hey, teacher, leave those kids alone" , taught a differnt message. So what are we supposed to do with the truth that he is exposing, remove the government? Oh yes, vote for a better one. Meanwhile how do you help families that lose their loved ones in war? By thanking them fir their sacrifice. How does that show hope for humanity? Ist convert your violent protestors, & then heal the hearts of the oppressed , , the exploited within a nation. How are you going to bring peace & joy to broken families? Is a lack of war a good start? Really & what's the next step, more research into psychiatry, to help remove mental illness? BE REAL MAN. " Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try,...", how did that John Lennon song help his situaTion? just made him more money, & put a song in our SINFUL MINDS. Why did he not have peace to reconcile wuth his first wife? BECAUSE there is no hope for mankind wuthout theur hearts being changed by The prover of God's promises,( & warnings), Jesus the Son of God.

Очень крутой, открытый, вечный мужик!!! Как же повезло что я живу с ним в одно время!
Unbelievable to think of this genius being born in 1943 when seeing him being so full of energy explaining things important to him ... Thank you so much Roger Waters. It was a Pink Floyd album which was the first vinyl album i bought in the early eighties of last century. Was there in Berlin. Love you.
Incredible. The founder of some of the most iconic music of a century speaks so eloquently and compassionately, for we the people, truly inspiring.
Such a privilege to be able to see a conversation between two superstars on their own fields. Thanks to both of you to keeping us with the perspective that there is decency and higher values and hopes for the people and the planet.
It is so lovely when you see 2 special people each of whom you hold in high regard - get together to talk to us. I have noticed this happening quite a lot nowadays.
What an utterly fantastic interview! Just went to his show the other day, and I was moved to tears several times. Roger’s message is so powerful, and I am so glad that humanity, with all of its faults, includes this amazing man.

"🎵....Remembering days of daisy chains and laughs🎵 Got to keep your loonies on the path🎵" Roger Waters - Braindamadge -DSOTM - to this day, greatest thing I've heard! I'm just sad that his "partner in crime" , Gilmour,is total opposite of Roger in ideology (Ukraine war particularly) & seems to me that they'll never be able to burry the hatchet, unfortunately!

I loved Pink Floyd from the 60s to my 60s. Roger's politics and music are so honest and refreshing.
Thank you for this interview. When I heard the awesome Chris Hedges letting Mr. Waters give his thoughts on current state of things on this earth, I was in complete awe and totally entranced by so much compassion and thought provoking points both men raised. I only wish this interview was longer.
This is how you conduct an interview. Notice how Roger was completely engaged. Genius.

Huge Respect for Mr Roger Waters and a Massive fan of Pink Floyd
Been to hundreds of concerts going back to the Beatles, Hendrix, Who, LedZep .... "This Is Not a Drill" was hands down the most eye popping and meaningful! Great Interview!

Long live Roger Waters and the legacy of his music..

Great work, Chris and RNN. Aside from being a one-man political force, Roger is a fine artist and poet and a true gentleman, as we saw, for example in his keenness to point out that Rick Wright composed the music to "Us and Them."
Love love this conversation thank you both for so much inspiration my exclamation! Cannot wait to read your memoirs Roger! ❤✌️
What a wonderful human being... Thank you for all of your work, efforts and unlimited courage. One of the few true rockers left. Endless love and respect. 🤞🙏❤️❤️❤️🍀🍀🍀
I recently read the memoir of Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and in it there was a quote that stuck with me - Anything but Love is weakness. It is easy to give in to the dark side of our nature, in this world we are constantly manipulated and encouraged to do so but it takes courage and strength to resist. So I say to all that read this, don’t let the bastards bring you down, instead keep your light shining brightly.
Roger is a great person. He could have stepped away and said nothing. Money does not drive him, Love does.

it's a wonderful in depth interview~ I have long loved PF and Roger's ability to have a razor sharp look at humanity with the incredible talent to convey that thru music! Songs that have significantly influenced my perspective. Thank You! ❤️🔥🎶 (btw-the written transcription is terrible)
Mr Waters knowledge, thinking, understanding, empathy , political views are totally amazing. I can not wait to see this boss man next year. It's gunna be such a long time. 😩
I've been listening to Pink Floyd since 1971 and was fortunate enough to see them in concert. Their song 'Welcome to the Machine' is more relevant today than ever.
I got to see him in slc 2 weeks ago. It was epic. I was surprised though at how much he held back. With his platform he has the potential to say a lot more and piss more people off than the average person.
What an excellent credit to humanity those two gentlemen are.
One of the most profound and deep interviews I have ever seen - you are both heroes of progressive politics
much love and admiration to roger, for the recognition of his long artistic career and congruence with the transcendental values of life...thank you chris for bringing him closer to your public

What a wonderful interview. It made me like RW even more. What a gentle soul and a learned man. I love poetry. Being a Persian, we all do. My mother was illiterate but she could recite Persian poetry very well. Life is full of surprises. Thank you for this interview. Brilliant.
This is such an enlightening lovely man and the poem he recited is just Dope!
“This is not a Drill” is a brilliant show. Hedges and Waters are powerhouses of critical dissent.

@Adam Jensen Roger Waters wrote all of those songs. It’s his right as an artist to perform his art. That’s the point. Besides, the theatrics and the showmanship by Waters is beyond anything Gilmore can produce. Albeit, Gilmore is an amazing songwriter and musician, he doesn’t have the artistic vision that Waters possesses. Stick to critique in comment sections, Adam. Your talent will not be forgotten until it’s buried by other asinine critiques.

I have to give a bit of a nod to you on that one Adam. Earlier in the show, I think breathe was done with a synthesizer arrangement… zero guitars…Seemed like a subtle slap at the contributions to a beautiful tune from David Gilmour. Rogers guitar player was admirable though… Playing that custom built telecaster through most of the show he was able to ape David Gilmours tone and melodic fashion. That was a bit of a saving grace yet had to roll my eyes at the onslaught of political commentary for the most part. So I’m a Christian and I know what’s coming or like the rest of the crowd there I would’ve just gone home and hung myself . The sky isn’t falling, but the empires of lies will… Be patient it’s coming, faster than we know.
I have passion ❤️🔥 to listen to you guys. Keep up the movement at the bar Roge…
Roger is a treasure, the new rolling stone interview with him came off as a hit-piece.
Love and deep respect for bath of you. You make our evel life barely possible.
This is an interview of metaphysical qualities. Thank you Chris Hedges and Roger Waters.
Thank you to the both of you for modeling deep integrity and caring, you are both inspiring!
Listening to this amazing musician and intellectual and then reading all those idiotic comments full of hatred on his Facebook page last few weeks, simply realize that he is like a candle in the darkness. So happy that saw him live. No matter how much I like the other three, Pink Floyd would not have been what became without this amazing man.

What a rarity: very intellectual and highly sensible to the pains of humanity and a great musician! Im in complete awe♥️♥️♥️
The best musicians throughout history, wrote about the truth. Thats why its so good and lasts forever. R.W. fan for life ; )
To see Roger on the edge of tears should cause anyone to feel more than they had before. I love that these two hold each other in such high regard.
I read All the Pretty Horses after hearing this dialogue. It was a meditation on authenticity and the power/spiritual centeredness that derives from that... An overwhelming minimalistic long poem and an impassioned quiet plea to be deeply heard, healing waiting within...
Quote of the year “ You know we’re all in trouble when Henry Kissinger is the voice of reason “ ❤
brilliant show, thank you both!
See you at the bar Roger! Awesome, and very moving show (Sacramento '22). Music has always taught us about Human Rights! I never heard of Palestine until U2 mentioned them in the 30-40 years ago, made me look into it. Now with Ukraine I'm following a band in a bunker trying to survive keep their unity and music alive.. Music/Art is therapy and education. Thank you for doing something so positive with your fame. So great to see you passionate about it still! It gives us hope and strength.
One the few worthwhile rockers from that generation .. Yet so sad, he lives in the worst country on earth, or his own homeland another rotten ex-empire. Kudos to both these guys for having a conversation.
Two legends together. Thank you!!! 🤓
We bought tickets for the tour in, I think, 2019, or maybe even early 2020. Neither of us have seen a big concert in decades. And then it was cancelled, and we thought..."well, that money is gone". And of course we were wrong. The show was rescheduled, and we went and saw it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks, Roger
just saw his tour a couple weeks ago in Tacoma. what an awesome show, and Roger’s voice is still great!
It's amazingly refreshing at how learned and geo politically educated the music icon Roger Waters is . He's unique , there's no other celebrity out there that has the courage to publicly speak the truth , which today is considered a revolutionary act .
Indeed, There is only one road. Thank you both. Rock on, brothers.
Big thumbs up to Chris Hedges for this wonderful and a great interview!
Just caught his amazing & moving show here in L.A. - I laughed, I cried, I screamed with joy, I raised my middle finger in the air, I listened to some awesome music and I drank some whiskey at "the bar" with an icon. As always, much love and respect - in solidarity ✊🏽

What a wonderful interview with 2 beautiful people in a world of Insanity. So hard to give younger people the benefit of long life knowledge when the media megaphone is so loud. LOVE ❤️ U BOTH.
Thank you Chris for this beautiful interview with Rodger. Sharing now. I look forward to more interviews like this. Thanks again, Chris.
It’s really fulfilling to be able to attend a conversation between two of the coolest and bravest. Such a privilege 🙏🏽
Thank you Roger Waters and Chris Hedges! Namaste 🙏💞
This was an incredibly great way to begin my day. Had the Swedish public service news on the tele, totally irrellevant stories obviously trying to deflect my mind from things that truly are important. Thank God I stumbled on this while I was randomly scrolling down my youtube. Roger Waters and Pink Floyd was one of those things that hit me in the strange age of eleven (what is an eleven year old really?) The Wall overwhelming my ears and brain through some enormous Philips headphones sitting on the floor in front of my stepdads stereo. I took those headphones off as a different person. What just happened? Did they just explain to me the schoolyard fear and anguish is something universal. Im not alone. ThankYou!
what an absolute treat to be able to hear Roger speak in real time about the issues of the day, when his music for many of us was the introduction to anti-establishment thought... thanks Chris, thanks real news, awesome content!
Went to his Atlanta show, powerful stuff. Roger was never afraid of speaking out, at least he's using his fame to move towards "change".
Roger Waters is an incredible proponent for truth and freedom. And I LOVE his contributions to Floyd, huge fan. Much love and respect to you Roger, thank you for all that you are doing to help feed the global political awakening. ❤
Waters is awesome. Easily one of my favorite song writers of all time. So many artists have been conned by neolibs these days, especially on these issues. It's awesome that he could see through all that.
Delightful. With 10 minutes remaining of this chat I began to fret about it finishing. Then the conversation turned to mirror my thoughts on that. Earlier today, prior to watching this, I used the phrase 'This is not a drill' for the first time ever, completely oblivious to it's connection here with Roger. Also my friend who rarely goes anywhere is suddenly travelling to 'Zagreb' in a week's time..He lost his beloved friend last week. "There is only one road." Ain't life strange and wonderful! 🙏
I am so happy to listen to two great people with great mine's and good hart, we need more people like them in this World.
I wish I was there and could hug both men for dedicating their lives to humanity. I grew up in Iran listening to pink floyd. 💗 I didn't understand the songs because I didn't speak English but it was clear that the there is an important message embedded in the music. Thank you Chris and Roger for making the world 🌎 worth while living for.
