The CHINESE ELECTRIC SPORTBIKE is FAST [FIRST RIDE after Mods]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After figuring out wiring, I take the electric sportbike from China out for it's FIRST RIDE!!! So excited this day finally came. The chinese electric sportbike has been a long journey, and after months of upgrading and mods, it put a smile on my face that will last forever. Check out this first ride and more!
The GPS I bought (and love for the price!) amzn.to/2SJORFV
The link to the bike and all the information is in this video:

BUT, if you're considering buying one like this, watch the whole video. It is very hard to get one of these and you may not get what you pay for.
THE SELLER CHANGED HIS COMPANY NAME TO "Wuxi Jose Vehicles Co., Ltd" ...Avoid them like the plague...and they keep changing their name. information may be outdated at any point. haha

    Glad to see you got it working... now take your old hub motor and put it up front for 2 wheel drive and even more acceleration. I've seen it done on a few e bikes and they're crazy fast when both motors are selected. Also great for wet roadsor anytime traction is needed

  • @timp5524
    @timp55244 жыл бұрын

    Stoked you got it working! I had the same reaction first time I rode the one I built. The nice thing about that hub motor is that its rated wattage is 8,000w but it will peak at like 22,000w+ (which I have done) depending on the battery ya use, ya just don't want to hold it there too long or the hub will overheat or possibly fail. QS says the top speed on that hub is like 75-80mph but I've had mine up to 94mph and it gets there quick 😁

    Indeed. I didn't see what BMS has been used but mine "Battery protects" once the voltage goes below a certain level. Basically.. It shuts off if I pull too much juice out of it in one hit if the voltage aint there to support that much throttle. I can redefine the parameters in the BMS though. It vibrates as there is resistance when you first power the hub motor to gain movement. This issue is easier to notice on a 1kw/1.5kw motor as if you don’t give the bike a push before powering the wheel you feel the shunt of the wheel getting into its rhythm.

Lots of people like cheap anything that is easy to mod to what you want, I know I do. But yes if you had it right from the start it would have been, well that was fun and on to the next project and your channel wouldn't have grown like it is. I didn't even ride but when I saw your I bought a cheap Chinese electric bike I had to watch and you running with it and making it into what you wanted and should have got has been worth the ride. For silence hub motors are way better compared to the zero line with a chain setup. Despite the big upgrade to the hub, near dead silent at city speeds.

  • @aflacduck2

    Zero uses Gates belts. I dunno if the earlier ones used chains but it's been belt driven for many years now. I would take mid drive over hub any day. Placing all that stupid heavy weight on the wheel is not gonna last long. These hub style lynch motors are notorious for needing tons of maintenance on spokes from that weight. There's plenty of room where the gas tank/engine would be for batteries. Putting the controller where the gas tank goes is not ideal since there's no good air flow cooling it. Controllers should only be internal if you can get the cooling(using liquid at that point) otherwise sticking them in front where radiators typically go is best. Sorry but the only place I see for hub style motors is very niche cases. This is going to cost him alot more money than if he got a used Zero and would be 10x better off. He could then make videos about modding a good high quality motorcycle than constantly fixing and praying the bike itself doesn't kill him by catastrophic failure.

    @@B_aka_Scias SMP180-05 also known as the 5.2KW motor from a Sur Ron or their 8KW version called the SMP180-08. $650/900 respectively. www.sur-ron.com/en/power.html You can buy the motor from lunacycle or ebikezilla (us/canada). I would not recommend the Sur Ron controller, get an ERT version of ASI BAC4000 or BAC8000. Either are much much better controllers and the BAC4000 is only a hundred more than an X controller from Sur Ron, way way worth it. You can also buy wiring harness, throttle cable, connectors, etc from either site above. The 5.2KW motor has been used in upto 96V. From the factory, it's used at 60V to get 5.2kW. Some people have put 33Kw through it and burned out the motor in 1 lap at Laguna due to heat since it's air cooled. Personally, I would wait for Sur Rons new Storm Bee platform to come out with it's 96V system from the factory and a new 10KW water cooled motor with gearing. Even if it ends up not being something you would need, surely the prices of the older systems would come down.

    I mean, ride/drive/throttle by wire has been a thing on motorcycles, cars, planes etc for years now, and you don't hear of electrical shorts causing people vehicles to run WOT and out of control. Besides, you have 2 brakes, a thumb operated kill switch, and an ignition key switch in reach. I'm sure he'll be fine :)

  • @HalkerVeil

    @HalkerVeil

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@KLRkillerfeeshy It's electric. Those brakes won't do a thing with that motor at full, electrical short or not. And there is no kill switch for a short. Typically means it found another electrical route in the first place which could bypass the whole thing. Debris the battery? Debris in the kill switch itself? Who knows. I once had a toaster that never turned off. No reason. Of course I unplugged it like you would hit a kill switch on this. But it's a switch. Switches fail and anything conductive on it can bypasses it. On top of that it's from China. So was my toaster come to think of it.

You should call this the Tesla Ninja, cause you can sneak up on people with this and they would never know. Also thats frightening as hell because they may not hear you coming and hit you. Still despite getting ripped off (breaks my heart my chinese bretherin did this to you), you made the best of it, and kudos for showing us all the frustration of your upgrade, it makes the smoothness of your first test ride all the more surprising!
